@@MiggyCR I have recently buy a B5 from 1999 in sedan. 301.000km, 0 dashboard lights, start same like a clock and drive perfectly. Im not a big fan of Volkswagen, but the Passat as for me the better sedan VW have made. She sweet to drive, and with Monroe suspensions on i feel like on a cloud. This car is perfect.

In my house there was a Skoda Superb with that 1.9 TDI with 130 HP, it was a taxi and it lasted almost 900,000 km, that engine was indestructible and they had great torque from a very low speed

I've still got a B5 and it's great.

The old blue and red instrument cluster was my favourite feature of all the old volkswagens

This video brings back memories. My parents used to own a B5 2000 passat with the non-reliable 1.8 turbo 20v. When I was younger it was my dream car but we had to sell it a few years ago because of the "brilliant" electrics, rust and unreliability. Still I want one of those cars when I can

Why?

Still one of the best cars have back when it came out and to this day still nice to own. And the night time colours still look amazing for its age. Nice simple estate car just load it with a caravan or trailer and the car still drives lovely. Fully load even with a trailer and roof box and four adults no problem.

Is it reliable? I might get either a golf 4/5 or Passat B5.5 with the 1.9 TDI

I love my 04' passat 1.8t with 4 Motion 5speed manual wagon. Heated seats are lovely. DVD player with review cam in it with boost pushing about 12lbs. Tuned perfectly from my family mechanic (when I need something 2 be perfect specially programming). I Call it "The Granny Sleeper" 😉 The look on my daughter's face when I said hey watch as I turned the key on the car N held it a couple seconds n all the windows went down. Priceless look.

są mega nudne, sam mam B6 kombi i jest meeega nudny, niczym się nie wyróżnia, ale ma jedną zaletę - 300 tys km i ani jednej awarii unieruchamiającej auto

@@MiCha-yz4tq teraz samochody już niczym się nie wyrożniają. W latach 90 np mercedes klasy S to było coś, bo jakie były wtedy samochody? A teraz? Jest pelno podobnych samochodów. A passat na tle innych jest solidny, jak jest nudny to kup sobie jakiś wynalazek typu alfa i jeździj ciagle do serwisu. Nudy nie zabraknie.

@@MiCha-yz4tq B6 ma tyle wspólnego z B5, co z ładą. A sam Passat B5 z racji, że jest to konstrukcja Audi ze stałym quattro, jest NIEZWYKLE ciekawym autem. Oczywiście z czterołapem. Bardzo zaawansowany technicznie, genialnie jeżdżący, dobry wóz. Definicja tego, jak powinno się produkować dobry samochód. A jeżeli taki czterołap quattro jest dla ciebie nudnym, to albo pierdolisz 3 po 3 z tą "nudą", albo każde auto nie będące ferrari będzie dla ciebie nudne, czyli szkoda w ogóle z tobą gadać.

Nice Cars, best Engine. I have a A6 C5 1.9TDI same Horespower. But, the Audi was faster every time😅. 220 stock was possible on straight. Low consumption, but a powerfull engine.

He probably did it, he let the engine warm before doing the video and then turned it off right before starting to record in order to make the video look better.

That has to be one of the cars with the worst headlights ever made! FFS, the high beams illuminate the road less than the low beams are supposed to, low beams are practically non existent...

Because It's cheaper. We have better things to spend money on (or save money) rather than waste money on an over priced, complex and possibly less reliable new car (I had a 2019 vw polo 1.6tdi that had to go to the dealers 3 times!. While with my 2004 Ford Fiesta 1.4 diesel I was able to replace the brake light bulb myself due to it being simpler)

its 2020 and this Car looks like from 2003. VW designers must get fired!
