Many serious skiers own several sets of skis. The Deacon 84 is an awesome Front side ski that has ability to ski some variety of terrain and conditions. You can then move up to the Mantra M6 with a 96 mm waist for those off piste and deeper snow days or the Blaze 94 of you like a lighter softer flex ski that can also tour in the backcountry if you mount a Duke PT or Shift binding on them. This ski is really popular in New England where we’re accustomed to firm snow. Always a popular model at the shop where I work. It one of my personal favorites.

Couldn't agree more. And because its so consistent and solid/safe feeling you can really explore the limits of the ski at higher speeds knowing it won't buck you or take off on you if you get a bit sloppy or hit ice/crud. Would highly recommend.

Excellent review on the Deacon 84

It's definitely a good ski for Ontario. It's more of GS turn feel than slalom, but I'd rather ride on it all day than my slalom skis.
