I agree I hate the idea of a 4th fight between them that doesn’t involve the belt. Feels like Alex wants to use Max as an easy way to the title

And this is why i hold true fighters over hype machines. The hype machines rarely deliver the moments Max and Justin gave us. The Volks addition to the BMF mix is organic and compelling. Walking the walk is the true essence of fighting.

I think the arc is Max beats Topuria and gets his belt back, fights Volk a 4th time and Max is back on top! Long journey back to champ.

Max proposed the idea for the Gaethje fight long before it was announced, and seemingly before the UFC ever caked Justin about it. Max saw what probably 95% of people didn't and knew what a great matchup it was for him. I didn't like the disrespect, but, it allowed me to make some very good money by betting on him to win by finish, and made his win all the more epic, which is great for him and I was beyond happy to see him prove everyone completely wrong

I always thought it was obvious that Max would stop or dominate Gaethje for the entire fight. I even left my predictions on Max' channel and they came through. Just think about it -> Max is 32, in the middle of his prime, had 6 months to get into 155 shape, already had a competitive fight with a much sharper striker in Poirier (who was in his prime, while Max was an overweight 145er at 1 month notice, and while Gaethje was already 35, Max was known for his great striking and being able to pick brawlers apart. I saw Gaethje as big of a threat as Calvin Kattar/ Arnold Ellen level. He was the first guy to drop Max and props to him, but Max was also known for a granite chin. So I was surprised how many people thought he would get Ferguson'd. Ferguson never had Max' skillset and was already old. So I was saying since the announcment that its Gaethje's time to get Ferguson'd now. And it happened almost identical , like face first into the canvas when Tony fought Chandler 😐

Once the McGregor-Chandler fight is over, all bets are off. Max vs. the winner for the BMF would be ENORMOUS.

I mean there's multiple championship belts, one for each weight classes. Two on some with the interim belts. But there's only one BMF. I could only imagine if this becomes a thing and the current champion can be challenge by someone on the same weight class or one below/above. Wherein the only qualification are; one, the fighter is known to be someone who does not duck anyone and two, entertaining to watch.

I think Volk is desperate to stay relevant. I’d wager Max vs Ilia is the bigger and more anticipated fight than Volk vs anyone right now. Volk vs Max for a shot at Topuria would serve, though I don’t think his performance vs Ilia deserves an immediate rematch. I also think it does Max no favors and most believe he’s earned that shot anyway. Whatever happens, Volk needs a W to stay relevant.

Fighting is an unforgiving sport, they die out in the cage but aren’t paid as much as other professional athletes.
