This is such beautiful videography. Just the way you think out the route and fly the drone leaves it needing minimal editing. These very lengthy shots give such a wonderful sensation.

For a volcano that is relatively small, it sure has churned out a large new land mass! Great to hear the sound too! Thanks for another great video.

We are watching a shield volcano being built. Slow and steady, building up from underneath, patient, persistent. May not look like it's doing very much. Like a turtle.

Perfect footage! That’s a great area to drop high resolution censors to capture vibration / seismic and visual ….from multiple points at ground level and on the cone to capture resonance that can be run through ai software that uses multidimensional, quaternion based motion amplification techniques to build a 3D map of what’s happening below the surface. Combine with satellite, LiDAR and visual 3D mapping using multi frequency arrays, we could see “why the volcanoes” and how it’s operating. That lava looks to be a ln electric/magnetic, salt, potassium and water issue….dare I say beyond tectonic influence.

My impression is that each of the 3 major fingers in the lava lake is feeding a separate tube at the far edge, which is transporting the lava to a more distant location and elevating the entire lower flow zone. Can't tell if there is one at the NE corner which is raising the lava level around the base of the cone Would love to see updated LIDAR data with a "difference map" between scans to show how the lower lava field is evolving. At 3 cubic meters a second that is 250,000 cubic meters a day, or a 1/2KM wide x 2 KM long region (roughly the area of the lava field between the cone and the point of the berm) that is 0.25meters (25 centimeters, 10 inches) thick. In a week's time, that is roughly an average 2 meter increase in thickness, in a month it is 7 meters. Are you allowed to fly down near the berms? There has been a suggestion that the lava near them is now higher in elevation. Great footage as always.

Fascinating and a little mesmerizing. I like seeing colors in all that blackness, I assume the reds are iron and the yellow spots are sulfur( wouldn't it be nice if it were gold..ha). I do have an interest of the lava composition if you can find that data, like it a college there that does sampling, but I suppose if their was any rare earth metals, that would be kept silent.

Starting at 1:50 until around 2:20 that fissure looks like it has red glowing lava. It looks like it can go off the moment the area becomes a little more active again.

I guess any volcano emitting high levels of sulfur dioxide gas is also going to have large patches of yellowish colored sulfur deposits on the cooling lava fields.

Is Grindavik still evacuated? I cant seem to find info if it is or not.I would be concerned with a part of the volcano breaking, spilling all of that lava with little to no warning.

The entire crater could collapse and the lava wouldn't get anywhere near Grindavik. Lava output is too low and the crater is too far. Eruption intensity would need to increase in a phenomenal way to threaten Grindavik from this exact crater.
