I should really do a video on loading the DX7 patch banks into the Volca FM via sysex transfer.

AWesome video challenge!! I remember thinking "hey! wat about the volca fm..." when you went to the Juno for strings on the last one. 😆 Using the sample to make a patch from the keys caught me off guard, great take!! But that also got me thinking, you could probably make a decent string from a volca bass sample using that method. Now we need showdowns for best synth bass, synth brass and synth plucks! 🏁

Thanks for the comment! Yes bass could probably generate the same sound, since it has the same VCO as the keys. Bass, Brass and Plucks would be great showdowns, I'm adding that to my to-do list! :)

Nice battle Adam! I was surprised what a nice string sound you got out of the Volca Keys sample. I definitely agree the Juno was the winner, though.

Thanks for the comment! The Juno has a killer strings pad, so it was a though battle, but I belive the Volcas proved themselves in a good way! Cheers! 😊

Thanks for your videos. I learnt a lot about my volcas and about synthesis in general. P. S you stole my idea for a korg volca t shirt 😂 I've always wanted to make one!

EPIC! And informative and helpful, thank you as always. I agree, the Juno ultimately "won" the battle; however, I feel the Keys played in the Sample might have won with a different reverb/ effects. Round two? :D

Thanks for the comment. Yes, with some more EQ, compressor and reverb, the keys/sample sound might have been even better!

I agree that the Alpha Juno won. However the OG FM, OG Sample/Pajen Update, and Keys do quite well. The possibilities are open.

Absolutely!

The Volca Modular can do really good string sounds. That might be worth sampling into the modded Volca Sample like you did with the Keys 🖖 As you said, all the synths sounded good 😎
