Hello fella, I've just got into RC, and want a larger boat, have around £150, would you suggest one of these sr80s or something else for that price Thankyou 💯 looking into the batteries and connections is confusing aha, what connectors are the batteries on the sr80 pro, dont wanna waste money on a 14v battery that doesn't have the right connections aha, thankyou

Very nice! That battery is the stock battery out of an FT011 and I'm amazed you didn't set it on fire :) - they aren't very good. I've converted my FT011 to 6S and put a 3674 1620kv in it. Obviously I don't use the stock battery anymore, but it was barely capable of running the stock setup.

That’s it 👍 The Feilun FT011, one of our first boats for review. We don’t have anything in the 4s 5000mah 50c range only 8000mah 75c and they’re pretty enormous. I’ve settled on using FPV Quads packs in Parallel to push the mah up and 100c and bonus uses the XT60 connector

Hey Lucre, good run! Have a sr80 pro myself, and just wondering if you noticed water exiting out of the left side hole at the top rear of the boat near the cover tab (the right hole is where the cooling tube from the rudder pickup enters the hull) when you ran it? I have made runs with my boat only in the pool since no chance yet to go to the pond yet for flat out runs and noticing that no water exits aforementioned hole. Thanks for your inputs.

Hello! Do you know the remote controller range?

I purchased this boat and threw out the rudder and other goodies. Watched a unboxing and it was taped to the inside of the box. Lesson for the day is, dont open rc stuff when drinking! $35 for a new replacement. Great video by the way. Cheers.

With Magic.....Nah just a GoPro mount base with an extension arm to capture the rear. Just plenty of isopropyl to clean the surface and the longer you leave the mount on the better the adhesion ;-)

Will this handle (2) 11.1 v lipo batteries..??

Can this boat reverse?

The pro version uses: 3720/1750KV motor,The none pro uses: 3540/1800KV And they use different drive axle.The pro use 4mm and the none pro uses 3mm.If you buy the 4mm drive axle and try to use it on the none pro, it wont fit.

What’s all the hardware on the nonpro version cast aluminum? Vs stainless on the pro version?

The Trim tabs and turn fins are SS on the SR80 with a plastic prop (You get a spare plastic prop in the kit) All the hardware on the SR80 Pro is SS and on closer inspection the prop does look to be CNC Machined as well

Michael Lucre so the non pro is just painted/coated black SS? Seems like that would be better than the plain SS on the pro version wouldn’t you think? The black color of the hardware made me think it was some kind of cheap cast aluminum.

@@michaellucre8249 ohhh ok, thank you for clarifying that, I couldn’t tell as it looks like the hardware on the back of my Sonic Wake. It’s a no brainer to just get the pro model with it being only $20 more and all metal hardware.
