Volantex RC / Lanyu - ASW 28 - Turn On Motor Breaking (old one)

Volantex RC / Lanyu - ASW 28 - Turn On Motor Breaking (old one)
This video showcases how to activate and deactivate the motor breaking feature, which is controlled by the ESC. This feature will help to ensure the prop stops and folds back when you let off the throttle, which is very necessary for efficient gliding, thermaling, and slope soaring. This is one of those features that should have been taken care of at the factory, or at least the instructions should have been included in the manual...
Here's the quick list of steps to follow...
(Note: Do all this at your own risk. Stupidity WILL result in cut, injury, (up to and including death) to your hands, fingers, eyes, kids, friends, animals, home décor, neighbors, and anyone else around you...please be careful! But most importantly, if you aren't, don't blame me!)
1) Ensure Lipo is disconnected from ESC (in the plane)
2) Turn on your Transmitter
3) Put throttle stick up to 100%
4) Plug in your Lipo to your ESC (in the plane)
5) Ignore the first set of four "beep-beep"s
6) Any time during the second set of four "beep-beep beeeep-beeeep", pull the throttle stick down to 0%, then BE CAREFUL, as your ESC is resetting and arming as usual at this point!!!
7) Unplug your Lipo to your ESC (in the plane)
8) Ensure throttle stick is still at 0%
9) Reattach Lipo to your (in the plane) and wait for the new normal startup beeps (they beep different with breaking on and off)
10) Test to confirm the satisfactory results
If you want to turn breaking off again, but why would you, simply follow the above steps, and when you get to the last step it will be turned back off (default).
If you want to "calibrate" your throttle range, just do like above, except lower the throttle to 0% during the first set of four "beep-beeps".
Seriously though, be careful out there!
Here's the whole manual if you'd like to download it here... hobbyking.com/media/file/9961...
P.S. Hilarious side note; While doing this video for you all, I somehow accidentally REVERSED my motor from the ESC settings! I couldn't, for the life of me, find a full programing manual for this ESC (only the one I filmed in this video) so I ended up just swapping two motor leads...what a pain! Ironically, now the three leads are "color for color" hahahah!

Cheers matey, I'll try this later on as I already substituted a Turnigy esc in it's place. Ironically I started swapping the motor connector for my usual Deans type, bu tfound that my soldering gun won't heat the connectors and motor wire enough to melt the solder!! :¬? I think my soldering tip needs replacing. I've read that the coating on some tips can age even when you stopped using it for a while.

I find that when they get too hot for too long, they get warn out. If you have some flux, you might be able to get her to work for you. If not, here's some recommendations from me for your consideration.... heh, cheers. Yes, I forgot I do have some flux somewhere. My biggest prob locally is that a nationwide electronics chain, Maplin, just closed their shop and went into administration!!! :¬( So I've ordered a new tip onling and will shop for a cheapo one locally which will, hopeluffy, manage half a dozen connections before going west.

I use a CHEAP soldering iron ;) Good luck with the Flux; It could make everything work, but just don't over do it, or you'll get smoked out - LOL!

It was NOT you... I evidently changed rotation at some point while I was filming this or right before. Nice catch! I either rotated it with ESC programming or swapped two of the ESC leads.
