That shadow man only appears on the last frame and makes a freeze frame for like a sec of it before the game crashes, almost as if its a sort of warning to tell the ppl thats out of bounds to go back

that shadow man really reminds me of that video of a gmod rp server with a whiteboard that teleported players to creepy place and it ended with a shadowy figure that was just visible around the corner.

That was Gmod Tower. And it was a easteregg for a event that would teleport the player to a Dark version of the player's house with a hanging body against a red light and TP you back to the spawn after you enter the room with it.

This is such a game. How it still has stuff to explore literally outside of the intended playable area

3:55 reminds me a lot of those "stairways to nowhere" stories you hear, with random stairs in the middle of the woods. It's probably not that at all though and might just be a model the devs not done with yet, maybe relating to that bunker outside the base? 4:55 is also the first time ive seen that creature clearly and my god what an ugly beast. 5:36 is funny, thats just a dick. thank you dev. and every instance of that shadow man is just unnerving, i want to say it's a shadow for the player because of the way it stretches from your feet, but that makes no sense. so weird.

@@nuclearexterminator7037 game devs can do some cheeky stuff with shadows regardless of the actual character model, but; it looks to be a texture that spawns under the player's location, with some consistent behavior of spawning in front of the players fov moments before a crash

The one in the very end of the video is clearly a 2d png and not a shadow stretching over the surface.

@@icevlad148 A png image is consistently shaped, what we see in the video isn't seen at the same angle every time it pops up. Other videos have slightly different angles when it appears.

@@thatoneannoyingtornadosire8755 it's stretched in 3d space, not simply floating in the air. Again, look at the last appearance of it. It's not on the ground, it's its own entity.

Its actually possible to get out of bounds without creative mode. Attaching the ATV to drone and positioning it in a certain way can launch yourself so fast you clip through the wall. After you hit the ground presumably outside of bounds you need to save and quit then reset the ATVs position otherwise you'll be launched at light speed constantly by a strange bug. While doing this method i was never bothered by the shadow man strangely enough, though i think this might of been fixed in the latest version.

@@Sevrgpro shadow dude, when i updated to 0.5.2 i noticed after launching my self outside the map i could not open my menu like when an event happens i didn't investigate further though.

@@Robert-jq8wr Not being able to pause is normal for most events. The shadow dude isn’t a bug though, it’s intended to appear. It’s a reference to a real urban legend called ‘The Freezer’ from another game.

@@Sevrgpro Sorry I think you misunderstood. On 0.5.1 when not playing in sandbox mode if you managed to escape the map nothing would happen, you could explore without being crashed by the feezer and even save. Although when i updated to 0.5.2 that seemed to be fixxed because i could no-longer open the menu like an event was happening, I never stayed long enough to see if The Freezer would crash my game though.

Well, i know that on latest demo, in story mode, if you clip under the ground, you will get teleported yo some location. Dev mentioned it calling it a backroom, on a wiki.

I love that you encounter an incapacitated entity immediately after landing.

The Shadow Man is a reference to Saints Row. TLDR: With cheats you could go oob and maptextures weren't spawning. At some point memory got fkd up so badly your empty map suddenly had one NPC and you got booted out with a crash The bad part: If you played this with physical media, your game was forever bricked due to the errors you acumulated Edit: The community named the VotV version "Freezer", you crash when you look at him, he patrols the outer bounds randomly and can spawn on you at any time. Like with Endermen, looking at his feet/legs is fine but refrain from gazing his body (meaning his body is in your fov/on your screen) You got lucky to be oob late into night before he got you

I saw eternity dev stream his development of the game and the freezer guy is really just a shadow texture that appears in front of you randomly, crashing the game. It doesn't have any model. He doesn't remember how the mechanic worked but it's pretty random

@@Voice_from_the_Void this commenter is very likely 100% lying, so dont worry about night time exploring. the funny thing is that theres almost 0 monster npcs that can kill you directly, even the fridge just crashes your game in this game the ironic part is that unless the orbs are around, you never have to worry about monster complications

Or maybe it's related to the Bunker outside the base, when you enter it with the password changer, it has a boarded door, which may imply that there are more things planned to the Bunker than just to get the KerfurO Manual

It actually might be. Since other entities (mainly the Anti-Breather) with exception of the Arirals have breather as part of their "names". It mostly seems to be a measure put in place to make sure the player doesn't stray too far out of bounds and break the game.

I always assumed that :gunbreather: is supposed to be an emote/emoji of an antibreather holding a gun from some twitch channel or discord server. Discord emotes tend to have colons on each end.

Like being lost in the world's biggest shadiest golf course.

on the 1st game crash it looked like the weird creature was standing and on the 2nd game crash it looks like there was a shadow of someone behind you and on the 4th and 5th it looks like the ame shadow man was sanding behind you but hes only visible for a few frames and on the 6th you can only see a portion of him

I don't know how game engine works... but what if you will look only up? what if you will try to not see the shadow? game will not crash then or will?

I checked, you're right. A new way you can do it is by spawning ATV into a corner of the invisible barrier (between one of the walls and the ceiling). You might need a few attempts before it works.

This is actually just the game, you can do this in-game the same way the uploader does and the shadow man does actually show up if you stay out of bounds for too long.

No way, you don't have a shadow normaly. Not to mention It's way too steep of a shadow and has visible arms. And the shadow is far too dark.
