Deep appreciation for the life of dedication Captain Ruiz had. I find it hard to imagine that any other person had the different commands that this man had. His insights, understanding and sharing of philosophy was tremendous. One of the more telling from your interviews that I have watched. Thankful that men like him maned the helm for our country.

Another great story, and a lot of insight I haven't heard before about subs. I can't imagine the hardships of serving aboard a WWII sub, but there must have been many. And I know there are endless hours of work at sea. Thank you for your service Captain Ruiz

Going on 8 war patrols in a sub during WW2 is almost unheard of.By the time you do 5,which was the max, most peoples nerves were shot. The courage this man had cannot be calculated. You hear about heros, but this guy. was one

No. I served under Commander Karl Otto, a great captain. I’m afraid that my service story would be a bit boring.

Great story, sub ones are rare. You should start a library where we can go to a single point to order all these vets books 👍
