On October 14, 2023, Charles Balbach Chief Curator Cathleen Chaffee and artist Lap-See Lam spoke with four local Chinese restaurant owners: Jasmine Chen (translator), Fanxu Meng from China Taste, Benjamin Zhang from Main Moon, and Zitao Ni from K BBQ and Hot Pot/King Crab, at the Buffalo AKG Art Museum in Buffalo, New York. The group discussed Lam’s work "Dreamers' Quay," 2022; their immigrant experiences and family histories; and intergenerational relationships in the Chinese diaspora in Sweden, Western New York, and elsewhere.
