VoicePlay does not to theatre, no. They used to perform in Universal and Disney for many years, which is where they have gotten their theatrical practice, but they don't do it nowadays. They very rarely sing live anymore, they're a member short and the majority of the group has small kids now, so they're all happy with being home with their families making music videos.

3:00 I loved the remark from one reactor who said, "Imagine being Geoff's son, coming to dad to admit to something wrong, and getting that 'but what?'"

They used to do regular touring until Covid came along. That's when Geoff started the solos This is from Hunchback of Notre Dame. This is a mesmerizing piece and Frollo is almost certainly Disney's most evil villlains. They did fly up to New Jersey and sang with Chicago on Nov 17-18. Huldra Draco has some video of several songs that VoicePlay with. It was the main 4 plus Omar Cardona. It was very well received.

Sadly they do not tour anymore. They did however just do a show in Atlantic City with Chicago. They do shows around Florida.Perhaps you could catch one on your next trip to the states. Layne arranged this song and had to talk Geoff into doing it because it's the darkest song Disney has ever released. Jack's Lament by Geoff is an awesome song to hear his singing range. Oogie Boogie with VP is another good one.

Voiceplay’s “choral” approach to this song is fantastic-I love it when everybody gets to sing. And I absolutely love Layne’s “burn it!” I like that you pointed out some of Layne’s percussion, too. He’s really a beast. And as always, Geoff’s singing-somewhere along the way I started imagining his subs as dragon purrs. LOL. Hellfire is a song that a lot of bass singers cover-at some point you might check out Jonathan Young’s metal cover. I’m not suggesting comparison, since his version is quite different. But it’s really a classic and worth hearing. Also, J.None just dropped a song on his own channel that you should check out. He actually sings bass for the Navy-we rarely get to hear him sing bass with Voiceplay but it’s worth hearing. Great reaction!!! Hope to see more soon!

A powerful rendition of the Disney villain's song. in The Hunchback of Notre Dame. Geoff's range is officially five octaves. From the growl notes at A0 to his rock scream at A#5. VP stopped going on tour when Covid and lockdown happened. Since then they've concentrated on producing studio videos. At the same time Geoff started his own channel of low bass covers, in order to keep going when the group couldnt meet so often.

Unfortunately, Voice Play has not done much touring since the start of the Covid Pandemic. They all worked as performers for Universal and Disney theme parks and cruise ships in Florida for a long time starting after they graduated from high school with side projects and gigs with different bands on their own throughout central Florida. They have all retired as full time payroll employees for Universal/Disney but do continue to work independently as "session singers" for special events, parties and functions. Beatboxer, Layne Stein, and former baritone singer, Tony Wakim, started their own production studio 'PattyCake Productions' near Orlando and stay very busy with their work there and do all of their own production for Voice Play and Geoff solo work there as well. They have families (young children and babies) and are very focused on staying independent and maintaining the quality of their family life. Legendary band, 'Chicago', saw their "Nothing Else Matters" cover and it prompted them to check out more of Voice Play and invite them to appear with them in concert last month in New Jersey. Although they have been short a member since J None left to join the Navy, Omar Cardona was available to sing with them and J None was also with them as a backup if needed (High rock tenor, Eli Jacobson, was expecting his son to be born any day soon at the time so they made sure they were covered in case Eli could not be there). We are all hoping that this will be the start of more touring for Voice Play. I recommend that you check out Huldra Draco's videos on You Tube of their recent concert with Chicago on your own (and her Voice Play history videos) and you may want to check out Peter Barber's recent interviews with Geoff Castellucci, J None and Layne Stein as well.

The Hunkback of Notre Dame. When this movie came out Disney movies were strictly G rated. Every line of this song and scenes of the movie were combed through to make sure it wasn't going to cause issues.

Geoff goes up into the treble range in almost every song (with certain notable exceptions, e.g., Valhalla Calling). Nobody in VoicePlay has any idea what a lane is or how to stay in one. I guess if you say the word "lane" to them they think you're talking about Layne.

Geoff has a 5 octave range from A0 to A5. Whoever suggested that Geoff is only a low voice is missing out on some of his most gorgeous songs. Listen to Shenandoah, Blackbird, Ain't No Sunshine, etc. etc. Delighted that you got Black Pegasus to finally listen to VoicePlay - thanks for that!

The song is from the Hunchback of Notre Dame. The fellow you thought might be J.None is actually Cesar; J.None is the one standing between Geoff and Layne. The opening "Beata Maria" means 'Blessed Maria,' an appeal to the Virgin Mary. The Latin in the background vocals through the middle of the song comes from the Confiteor ("I Confess,") a prayer from the Catholic High Mass in which the confessor admits they have sinned through their own fault; the villain Geoff portrayed, Frollo, was being rebuked by his faith as he tried to blame anyone except himself for his sins, up to and including God. "Kyrie Eleison" is Greek, and means 'Lord have mercy.'

Since you commented on the 'latin' backgrounds - yes they were latin (mostly) they are part of the responses in Catholic liturgy. The one part that wasn't latin was the 'Kyrie Eleison' which is also a church response, but in greek. I'm afraid I do not know their actual meaning, but perhaps someone who is catholic can tell us?
