@@margaretherrerawhile that is kind of correct music does need to evolve a bit to get the attention of people these days. Emotional connection is how the music industry is competing with worship music, it's sad to say but if we stuck to traditional ways of worship it won't reach all that many not emotionally compared to today's music. Its all well and good to live in accordance with how the Bible says to do things but you won't always win peoples hearts if you don't change a bit to reach them.

SO true! Putting all this technical vocal work in it beforehand is key for being able to even make room for the Holy Spirit when it comes to actually leading worship and leading people into the presence of God. It's not like: Oh yeah let’s just lead worship and the Holy Spirit will just do it’s thing either way, so we don’t need the preparing and the effort. Sometimes there is this weird thought in christian society that preparing stops the Holy Spirit from being able to do his thing, but that’s so far from truth. It’s the same thing with preaching. I as a preacher put so much time and thought and effort into preparing a message, but not because I want to take away from the Holy Spirit or because I don’t want to make room for him. I do it because ONLY if I am prepared I can step back and be open enough for the Spirit to take over.

He sang This is a Move and I was grabbing anyone I could find after service to get the name of the song because it was so amazing. Since that time in 2020 I have bought several of his songs. I had never seen this music video… chills! Not just the Holy Spirit, Amazing vocals, and incredible musicians but I have to point out the fim work! Absolutely brilliant! The quick shots of the audience just “roaring” and completely allowing themselves to be “lost in the moment.” This is great “worship” and great “worship leading!” Obviously led by the Holy Spirit, as the writing and performing of this song is. I will be putting it in our worship soon. Thank you for recognizing Christian Praise!🤗☝️✝️💜

Interesting points. I took the point about thinking higher while singing lower to prevent the excessive drop of the larynx to get “fuller” low pitches, and instead get a more richer low note with the higher frequencies /overtones not swallowed up / cut off. I have always loved this performance and more importantly singers because they really do make you FEEL what they are singing, they put so much power behind it. What makes them so special in my opinion is how much talent they have at leading the worship aspect of it and really getting not only the people at the venue hyped about their faith but even after watching this video for the 50th time, it still gives me so much energy and sucks me into feeling as if I’m there with them. This was my first time listening to a breakdown of the technical aspects of specific vocalists. It was fascinating! I love to sing but have no idea what I actually sound like to the trained ear - probably don’t want to know. I’m eager to check out some of your other videos.

It’s so refreshing for someone to recognize the hard work that comes with singing because it’s not just the gods gift. You do have to work at it and to hit those notes you have to know which way to place your mouth where did suck air from all that. It is very very very technical so thank you.

I reference the first part of how Chris is singing less nastily and more forward, the songs also in a minor key which is rare for worship so I love that they just got to make the most of it. Love the vid guys!

Yes! I love the clarity of his voice in this. And I always love a well done minor worship song. There are more minor hymns out there but not a lot of modern.

You may critique his voice but the Lord spoke through him, that voice, the first time I heard him sing. I knew he had a message I wanted to hear. I love Maverick City music and Elevation Worship singers and songs. I listen and hear something that moves through me, my soul, makes me happy

@@ssua4059 same. I see a lot of show and singing. But I see no worship. People must understand that worship is not about the beauty of the voice and the singing. But it is about the lyrics and the truth of God's word behind it! Lyrics must not be ours, but God's.

It true leading a worship experience has multiple layers happening at same time….. rehearsals is to perfect the details of your voice and the performance go to affect the people in the experience

Heard it for the first time on my way to work right after it released to KZread and it gave me some heavy chills (still does listening to it, but that first time was like someone dumped ice water down my shirt) Easily one of the best songs on the album and definitely a great worship song Wonderful analysis too ❤️
