I’m 26 and I’ve been single most of my life, to be honest I’m tired of waiting, esp when I go on Facebook and see a new engagement every day and have my friends/family constantly ask about it. But I really want to be with a guy that God has called me to be with. I’d rather wait a long time for the right kind of guy than settle for someone that doesn’t follow and trust God. Thank you guys for this video it’s really encouraged me to keep in faith for him.

Trust me, the worst thing is marrying a person you have the tiniest bit of doubt about marrying just because everyone else is marrying around you. I made that mistake 30 years ago and especially the last 10 years have been torture. Marry for love only even if you're 40 or 60 or 80....

I commend you for being willing to be open, sharing with others. This type of conversation is so necessary, and unfortunately, not spoken of enough in the Christian community. GOOD JOB - keep up the good work. ❤❤❤

I never grew up in a faith centered family (I was raised by unbelievers), but I devoted my whole life to Christ in middle school, I let Him become King of my heart, but my parents didn’t let me get baptized because of their unbelief. I pray for them each day. Eventually they allowed me to get baptized (when I was 16 years old YAY JESUS), and they even attended church a few times. I love their baby steps in faith it is so so so beautiful to see them slowly turn to Jesus. However, their marriage and our family was/is not Christ centered, so I turn to married couples of all ages who are in my church (such as the next gen pastor and his wife, and a freshly married couple in their 20s) that help show me what a Christ centered relationship/family truly is. My hope is always in Jesus. He will not let darkness have the final say. He will not let sin have the final say. He has full authority, say, and the center of all of my relationships. I’m so thankful for couples like you who give people like me real advice and help prepare me for a continued Christ centered future. It’s couples like you that rewrote the definition of marriage and family. Y’all are a blessing to my life. Thank you.

I was talking with a friend once about the importance of praying for one’s children, because if the parent isn’t praying for them frequently, then who is? And she said “Jesus.” What a great reminder. Even though it’s incredibly important to pray for our spouse and children, it’s a wonderful comfort to know that Jesus is also interceding for each of us before God (Romans 8:33-34).

As a military spouse (18 years) I would say that God has given grace in impossible seasons, when there were no people, where I couldn’t manage my environment and bring support in, God’s grace has been overflowing and sufficient. There were seasons that I couldn’t see it, but I look back and see He was enough.

I agree my husband and I have been together 25 years and after watching the Lakes very candid real talk I began realizing how important the respect for one another and the intimacy is. You and your husband or wife share intimate things that no one else in the whole world knows and that's what makes it special. We see each other, warts and all and still commit to loving them.

A Friend of mine's husband (ex now) would make her go to strip bars and she hated it ..she would rebel when she would be made to be out drinking out in the bars at these places she would just go crazy it wasn't her thing and she didn't want to be there. It ended up when they got in a huge fight, walked out and when they got in the car he was being rough with her and she bit him and he beat her and beat her and now she's paralyzed on one side. That is a dramatic story, but it's a true story. Do not participate with p*** it's going to take him down a depraved road and that lifestyle takes all the wholesomeness in life out the window, when you start watching p*** get ready to get burned...Sex is to be intimate and pure and between a husband and his wife. Period!

I discovered you the night my dad passed away on Christmas eve 2020. I heard your song "Gratitude" and as the lyrics began to play I collapsed to the floor. My lifeline with him began to flash before my eyes and I realized the man of God that he really was. My hands were lifted and in my agony I was flooded with gratitude to our King for granting me such an honorable man as my earthly father. I played it at his memorial service and still can't hear it without being brought to tears. But I've listened to most of your music since and it is so much more than music to me. It literally brings forth a spiritual encounter with our Father every time I listen. Your relationship with the Lord and your love for Jesus is so evident and it flows from you into the hearts of those who listen. It takes me to my deepest place of worship every time I hear your music, your lyrics, your voice. I just want to say thank you for sharing the beauty of your gift and spiritual journey and relationship with Christ with us. You have no idea just how many hearts and lives He's touched through you. Much love to you and yours. And you and your beautiful wife have great marriage boundaries, I love your respect for one another. Don't give up or lose hope because of the resistance. Remain in your covenant, don't disengage. Calling it quits will not solve the issues, Holy Spirit is there to guide you. Remember, when you said "I DO, " what you were really saying was "There's no one I'd want to do issues of life with than you!" Clothe yourself in humility and know that both of you will come out of this season more sanctified, looking more like JESUS, if you don't throw in the towel! Trust me, the things we want to turn our faces from are actually there to stretch, bend, and mold us! Don't let the enemy have his way by giving in! Frustrate the enemy by doing exactly the opposite of what your flesh wants to. Operate from God's sense, not human sense! There is no way the enemy can break the covenant you made before God and men unless you cooperate with the devil. Love your wife like you love yourself. LOVE YOUR WIFE AS GOD LOVES YOU. Romans 5:8! God will restore your marriage, work with God!

I had anxiety and panic attacks, due to sexual trauma, he had unrealistic expectations because of his lies from porn. Thank you for sharing. It's true the wife keeps the home fires burning when Brandon comes home from being on the road, if he didn't have a warm inviting home and his wife Brittany, that loves him, children who adore him he would just stay out on the road and drink himself slowly to death or get on drugs and be a mess. Homemaking is very vital in the plan of the family to bring stability which God authored when he said let a man leave his mother and father and cling unto his wife, in which cling means chase after. He also said to multiply and that's where the children come in and mothers be proud that you're chosen to raise these little ones.. fathers be sure that you are in lending a helping hand at all times and if you're gone lengthy hours, then you have some making up to do when you get home, but a smile a hug and a kiss goes a long way.

Wow!!!!! I am 65 I live in South Africa. I have been married to my husband for 40 years. 40 years of all emotions and scenarios. This was the best talk about real issues in marriage I have ever seen. Both from a Christian perspective and just from good solid real advice perspective. Something that will even reach and touch non-believers. May God continue to bless you ministry both in worship and in talking reality into the world in the knowledge that Grace carries you when you falter. God bless you both and may Christ’s sacrifice be evident through your honesty and sincerity. 🙌🙏🏻🙌

Brittany it was so refreshing to hear you say that you have the house clean and the kids ready for bed when your husband comes home. I don't think wives know how much that brings peace to the home, and helps your husband, especially in full time ministry, relax and be able to have his focus on you and the children, not the chaos. Bravo!

Yikes. The encouragement of pandering to the man…is nauseating. That can create undue stress on some wives, who are already likely putting their needs last as it is. So, wives should get rid of the evidence of how the real day goes? So, if she ever shares how hard it is, he’s even less likely to believe it…when he sees a “peaceful” house as his perspective upon coming home? This type of codependent encouraging, is toxic. Elevating one person so much, and pressuring wives to be a certain way…makes me wonder deeply about your narratives, your conditioning, your true understanding of women “Cheryl”.

It is refreshing however it is not realistic for the average woman. I really need for people to stop putting women that do that on a pedestal. It makes the rest of the female race feel inadequate & it’s just not true. House clean or not, a mother is still a mother. Your children are not going to remember how nice the living room looked, they will remember whether or not you were present. This is why I think your bedroom needs to be clean always. Your safe haven. Just for peace & relaxation 😴🥰😌.

My husband and I listened to this heading back home from the beach and it softened up our hearts so much towards each other and gave us up. Our relationship has been up and down in our first year but each time God helps us overcome a struggle we get closer. We both come from darkness so our pasts are scattered with drug use, incarceration, witchcraft, new age, promiscuity and all the things that go with that life. We are both born again believers so we aim to lean into Gods calling in our lives. Thank you all for giving us some insight on how to have a Godly Christian relationship!! This is so new to us! We come from abusive and toxic relationships so this is sometimes very hard. The enemy hits us hard using our past to shame us and separately isolate us. At times we react to past trauma as if it’s happening with us now and it isn’t. We needed to hear the raw real stuff from a couple that walks with God. Honesty about sex and expectations! Porn is demonic and evil and should be brought to light more. The enemy doesn’t want us coming together for solutions! He hates unity. Keep talking please! Please keep doing this when you get the extra time! Try to get your friends to do it too! This has been so helpful! Thanks Brittany specifically for being vulnerable about post partum and boundaries. Many blessings on you and your family! Keep fighting the good fight! Jesus is everything. Suck it satan in Jesus name! Amen

I just watched this and loved it. You are both incredible. I am 61 years old and have been widowed for 2 1/2 years (40 years of marriage). I was crying when you were praying for us. You touched several points that apply to my life. About a year ago I reconnected with a good friend on social media from when we were teenagers. We talked a lot and I asked him what kind of music he likes. He responded Christian music, which almost scared me away. I was totally still stuck on '80's hard rock. He sent me a few videos over time and I thought, uh it's okay. One morning I had a text from him saying that God had put it on his heart to send me this song. It was you singing "Gratitude." I had just gotten up and had a cough. The first time I listened to it I thought "did he say you've got a lion in your lungs? 😂 More like a sick kitten." I played it again and the 3rd time was singing along (and not coughing). That song got me addicted to Christian music. I kept playing other songs of yours on U-tube and loved them all. Then I clicked on a recommended song by Phil Wickham. I love his music too. I slowly branched out finding more artists that I like. But "Gratitude" is still my favorite and will always be special to me. I was really disappointed that I couldn't attend the concert a few months ago in New Orleans. For now I will keep enjoying my new "addiction" via utube. Thank you and God Bless you and your family.

a great example of a married couple in love with god and each other. While watching this, and when Brandon said ask god what he wants you to do, I asked. The thing I felt back was “learn more now, read my entire word and then come back and ask the same question.” So that’s what I will do, I’m new to Christianity so I just wanted to rush and see what I could do helping churches and whatnot but god doesn’t need me there right now, he needs me to keep learning, keep praying- and then ask when I’m ready. And Brittany, I relate to you so much, I have had instances of SA and r**e- when I told my husband why I wasn’t always okay with doing things because maybe I’m thinking about it more that day or whatever reason, and I thank god he sent me a husband who is soo understanding and realizes when I’m not able to be intimate in the way that he may want, thank you for sharing that Brittany. It makes me feel so much less alone

Thank you so much for this. So many issues were uprooted for me while I was listening. I hadn't realized I had been holding onto sexual trauma from nearly 20 years ago. I had been forgiving the person over and over, but today... today it broke. I also realized that it was what was keeping me from trusting Jesus completely, and I'm still crying it out.
