To be correct on this, Persia is what Greeks called Iran, coming from the word Pars. The real name is Iran meaning the Land of Aryans. Can compare it to Germany, Germania, while the real German name is Deutschland.

Hi. In Persian(Iranian) music those tiny notes are quarter notes. Half of half stepsand the technique is called "Tahrir". There is many great vocalist in Iranian music like: Shajarian, Ebi, Hayedeh, Googoosh

You're right. In Iran's traditional music we have quarter steps in addition to half steps. But he didn't use quarter steps in this one. He's just a master of fast runs in our pop music. If you're interested in listening to some of our traditional music i highly recommend listening to Homayoun Shajarian and his father Mohammadreza Shajarian.

Thank you for your reaction. The language of Iran is Persian(Farsi) and the language of Iraq is Arabic. Honestly, you can start a whole new music career with Persian music. There are a lot of exciting to explore when it comes to Persian music and poetry in terms of techniques, compositions, instruments, etc. I guess others in the comments will chime in to introduce some other singers with fascinating vocals, though they are many.

thank you for the reaction. the steps are called Tahrir and in English they are called quarter notes i believe. some Persian instruments are also capable of performing quarter notes as well. instead of carrying a note like you do in western music, you break the notes and it creates the fine steps. easier said than done of course. p.s i am not a musician so my knowledge is based on basic research.

this riff and runs technique is a very chesty and called Tahrir which means vibrato in persian. you need to improve your chest voice very much to be able to make such runs. that was basic lesson. 2nd you need practice like this : throw the air with your chest voice like a hammer one by one on different notes high and low(but high notes have to be performed by chest voice actually its chest mix which needs power and strength) and as you practice more you will be able do that faster and cleaner than previous ones. but the key is the "VERY STRONG CHEST VOICE". we Iranians usually sing with open mouth and chesty which is the secret of that beautiful and fast riff and runs. If you see Mohsen's face and neck wisely his vessel is always out and bold coz of using the power of his voice that is more from his diaphragm which uses for making strong chest voice even in high notes. hope this was helpful for your question about this technique. By the way im vocal coach too
