Voice Teacher Analyzes "My Mind" x Yebba
You all have asked for her… for a long time, and so I HAD to make sure I gave y’all what y’all wanted. And I thoroughly enjoy her - @AbbeySmithy.
This performance was SO unique and moving and I loved seeing this side of her.

She is crying with her voice without sheading one real tear.. one of THE best performances EVER to exist!!
She sung that song. She put all her pain, and feeling into it.
Whew that “worked so hard to keep you satisfied” really hit different 😭😭😭
This vocal coach is on a different level than the sea of other vocal coaches. Very insightful vocal coach! And I mean real insight, wisdom and understanding of voice not just being good at talking and talking. And can sing too! Fantastic video.

For sure. He knows his stuff.
The fact that she could even sing these words with everything that was going on during that time, is absolutely astonishing to me.
That’s how you make a song cry 😢!!
I think this performance moved so many people because, while not everyone understands vocal technique, we all understand storytelling. Our ancestors knew how to do it as soon as they gathered around the fire - and we all do it every day (“you will not believe what happened at work”). Yebba tells a story with every note that she sings - and we all get it.

I'm a vocal coach in British Columbia, Canada and friend, you are absolutely blowing my mind with your analysis...your ability to replicate riffs and also describe the technique being employed is beyond incredible! Subscribed!
She put her WHOLE FOOT into that song!
YES! The first time I heard this song I nearly cried, especially when she started the wails, I was utterly awed and enchanted by her voice and the complete authenticity and rawness she displayed in this song. I got chills with every run, hum and head-thrown-back note👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾GORGEOUS😫💞💞💞
Ms. Yebba makes me FEEL when she sings...I enjoy her music and personality so much. A true treasure!!
WOW, I have heard a LOT of vocal coaches react on this app, but they pale in comparison to this man. This is my 1st time listening to one of his reaction videos, and I am BLOWN AWAY by how much he has taught me!!! How deep he is able to break down what's happening in this song vocally…. He is a cut above the rest! Very impressed!

Nope not a song to move to... but most definitely a song to SHOUT to. I mean... when I hear raw voices and tones like Yebba's, I can't help but give, "stank" faces, the ocassional deep "Mm!" And such lol I could NOT be as motionless like the folks in her audience 🤣 lol I am soooooo grateful that you've FINALLY are analyzing this. I'd love to sit on the sofa beside you (dibs on left side) and just hear your reaction to her singing the entire song hahahaha.

💜💜💯 facts.. You have a Fan in me .....
When I heard this song years ago I literally cried every time I played it! She really had all the emotions in her voice!!! ❤️❤️❤️
I’m a guy who’s heard this song and watched her video several times, but because today, I can fully empathize with someone who’s dealing with the feelings of being betrayed after fully committing… watching her pain is, mmm, emotional.
MAAAANNNNNNN!! Listening to your critique on this, and the emotion she amplifies while singing... I didn't realize how much I just NORMALLY do this!! I do weddings, funerals, etc. I have people YEARS LATER, telling me how that emotion I had, helped them thru THEIR emotions... I. AM. BLESSED!!💖😭🙏
Those humms and growls, you know what that means. It's about to go down! Yes, she is telling this story and I can visualize it. I could literally direct the video based on her colorful delivery.
"technique is the insurance of your gift" 👏🏽🙌🏽WOW, i love that❣️✨️
U better preach about perfection very wise words I love your videos, your a beautiful soul ❤
It's okay cause if you didn't pause you would be in full tears and goosebumps all over.

This song sends shivers down my spine every time I hear it. And, as usual, your analysis is not only informative, but uplifting as well. I literally had to pause the video to comment because I didn't want to miss anything you were talking about. Also, I hope you make an album someday. When you sing to exemplify what you are speaking about is one of my favourite things about your videos. Cheers!
Bay-Bee, this is pure pain! Sis has had a man make her feel like...I can't do this no mo! Period, this is storytelling at its finest! He hurt her and I'm so grateful because the result is this level of artistry.
I like how she cry in different tones…I never heard of her. Reminds me of Adele😊😊😊great pick Jaron on this one💯💯💯💯

Yebba too is a breath taking artist doing a multi faceted performance that I learn from every time I watch/listen to it; both the vocal coach commenting and the artist performing are awe inspiring and surprisingly humble/welcoming; I look forward to appreciating more from each of them, and thank you so much for this analysis!!!!
