This podcast episode is a one-on-one coaching session with voice-over artist Julie OConnell. In this episode, we look closer at the custom processing preset I created for her and examine the EQ and Compression processing. We discuss dynamic EQ and how the F6 has the dynamic feature available. We discuss the value of referencing each effect individually. Then we look closer at the Scheps Omni Channel by Waves and talk about saturation, De Essing, Compression, and EQ. We discuss the leverage and extra power that a professional processing chain can offer a voice-over talent. We discuss mastering and loudness levels. We also discuss communicating with clients, and I share a valuable tip to help win new clients. This episode goes a bit deeper on mastering, loudness standards, using metering, and using a limiter. Then, we wrap up the session and discuss dealing with insecurities as artists and self-confidence.

Fantastic podcast! So informative. You are the best! 😃 I need a custom preset so bad. I have an internal sinus click that is in the middle of almost every word. Takes forever to try and remove them, and I have not been able to remove them all. I do online math video voiceovers, and thousands of students have to be tortured with all the clicks every day. 🫣
