Voguing is a style of dance that originated in the ballroom scene of New York City in the 1980s. It is characterized by its angular, stylized poses and fluid arm and hand movements. Vogue dancers, also known as voguers, perform voguing on a voguing runway or vogue runway, showcasing their skills in a variety of voguing dances.
Voguing has since expanded beyond the ballroom scene, with voguing competitions and battles taking place around the world. Voguing femme, or voguing performed
Thanks to the rise of social media platforms like KZread and TikTok, voguing dance videos have become increasingly popular, with voguing dancers sharing their performances and competing in online dance competitions. Voguing battles, or voguing competitions between individual voguers or teams, have become a staple of the voguing community.
Whether performed in a ballroom or on a dance floor, voguing is a dynamic and expressive style of dance that continues to evolve and captivate audiences around the world.

It's an experience that I highly recommend. I can still remember attending my 1st ball in the mid 90's, The Latex Ball in NYC. I was like a kid in a candy store. I was completely mesmerized by all the beautiful transgender women, the butch queens going at it voguing, the fashion etc etc. It made such an impact on me that I had to find a way to be part of the ballroom scene. Bruh, when I tell you I started hanging out in Christopher Street in NYC everyday of the week, started meeting people, then clubbing from Wednesday till Sunday. I finally became part of The House of Infiniti snatched a couple of trophies in NYC and Philly. In person you just feel that energy that will make you want to be part of the ballroom culture.

I’ve only seen one Queen of color here where I currently reside. I’ve been to countless shows here and they were a drag lol. No rhythm or personalities. I was spoiled in College as some friends took me to an event called Talent Takeover every Thursday. I actually let my daughter participate in a show my stud-dents were hosting. She did so good especially to never have seen one. Gosh I’ve mentored too many suicidal students to not believe the love, emotions are real. Taught my daughter to do no more or less than to love period.
