The guy with one arm, Jamey, is actually a tenor but is probably singing baritone or tenor 2 here. The guy keeping time is Voctave's former musical director, Tony De Rosa, who is a BIG NAME in the barbershop world, having won the International gold medal 3 times with 3 different quartets, and also directs a chorus. He is probably singing whichever of baritone or tenor 2 that Jamey isn't. Tenor 1 between Tony and Jamey is super tenor E.J. Cardona, who has also done at least one guest spot with Voiceplay and is brother to Omar Cardona, who has done several. The bass, in the lavender shirt, is J.C.Fullerton, who can hit at least as low as Kate can hit high, but who in my opinion is criminally underappreciated. From left you have Soprano 1 Kate Lott, Soprano 2 Tiffany Coburn, and the altos Ashley Espinoza and Sarah Whittemore. Ashley is also a fairly big name in the women's barbershop world, having been in a medalist quartet. I had the great privilege of seeing them live a few months ago and they are even more impressive live, and yes Kate consistently hits those notes!

You are absolutely right about J.C. He has one of, if not the best bass voices there is in music today and no he does not get the credit he deserves. Hope that didn’t lead him into leaving Voctave. His voice has a richness and fullness that needs no amplification. I like Geoff C. and everyone is enamored with his voice but IMO I would take J.C. over Geoff 10/10Xs if I had to choose just one.

I have commented before the same about JC - his bass hits are equally as impressive as Kate in the stratosphere. As a tenor, I respect his bass vocals so much!

First soprano Kate Lott has had many years of opera training and she is a coloratura soprano which is the most revered of sopranos who train to do insane vocal acrobatics while singing crazy high notes...

I love listening to your music appreciation and knowledge, especially for such a young man. I loved watching the featured singers be blown away by the BV's. The bass is the gentlemen in purple. Please keep listening to Voctave. The layers in Voctave are unlike any other group and for someone that likes to hear those harmonies I don't think you can find anything better. I have read they have a 5 octave range. Thank you.

@@lyleorr9832 She has a nickname of Kate The Great, well that's what I've heard. She reminds me of my mom. She had the same kind of tonal quality and could sing those high notes without jangling your nerves. Since I'm 73 it has been a while since I heard my mom. So, Kate is a great surrogate. I don't know how tall Kate is, but my mom was 5'1" on a good day. She was perpetually late and infinitely gracious. She was an incredible sight-reading piano player. She was a school secretary who could be typing up minutes of a staff meeting from tape machine with headphones only one, always the right one, top of the ear, phone. Also be answering questions from a parent who showed up at her office usually in a state of irritation and then in the other ear answering a question. She could type 120 a minute with no mistakes, and this was on the old typewriters with a ribbon and keys that took a positive strike to make it work. Miss her a lot. I could talk about all kinds of music with her. No, I got none of her DNA. I can carry a tune, but most people want me to carry it right on out the door. I was so awful at piano that I drove a piano teacher of 50 years' experience to retire. Sorry, I got a little long-winded. Sometimes I get a little maudlin, but without the alcohol. Thanks for the indulgence.

My favorite part of this video, is that Jeremy keeps glancing at Kate, shaking his head, and grinning. There is a video on YT of rehersal where he just stops singing and everyody starts laughing.

I mean...does it get any better than Voctave?! Love them! I'm sure someone already said it, but you *have* to see the short behind the scenes video of the soloists losing it to giggles during practice when Kate Lott goes off towards the heavens. Have you reacted to their princess medley? It's stunning and you get to hear all five women from high to low.

Since it seems you are familiar with Voctave I would suggest The Prince of Egypt Medley and The Disney Heroes and Villians Medley. They do not have videos (audio only) but are superb arrangements and character. This video is also one of their first releases and they had 9 members at the time. They now have 11 (5 women and 6 men). I would also suggest Someone Like me feat. Jody McBrayer (from the group Avalon). And as you mentioned in your video, you can't go wrong with their Christmas songs (such as Mary Did you know with Mark Lowry who is the lyric writer of the song, Where are you Christmas?, The Christmas Song, O Come All ye faithful and The Carol of the Bells of Notre Dame and All is Well)

Kirstie and Jeremy were dating when this was recorded, also they were totally geeking out about recording with Voctave. The Side singing is a think Kirstie used to do a lot, it's jaw tension, this is an older performance, she's come a long way and has done a couple shows on Broadway since this, and it's only made her better. I think one of my favorite Voctave videos is Mary Did You Know, recorded with Mark Lowry (the writer of the song)

Kirstin or Kirstie (rhymes with thirsty) does have a natural side smile when singing. I believe this bugs her, but her fans think it’s endearing. Recommend Pentatonix’s cover of Shallow for a great Kirstin performance. Also, recommend her songs from her album, LOVE. Recommend Break A Little.

Hey Daniel, loving the channel! Your analyses are spot on. I am in no way trying to lure you away from Voctave (my absolute favorite) or any of these incredible a cappella groups you’ve reacted to so far, but go check out DCappella. I think you will… just check them out. Their style is more of a modern day version of Disney music and their beatboxer is next level also. In the meantime keep Voctave coming. Can’t get enough of them! An often overlooked cover of Voctave’s is “Show Yourself” which also features Kirsten Maldonado. There’s no accompany video, just the album track on KZread, but IMO it is one of Kirsten’s best vocal performances.

Daniel, "Disney Love Medley" was the first recording by Voctave when the choir had only 8 members present. At that time, there were 2 sopranos, 1 soprano/alto, 1 alto, 2 tenors, 1 tenor/baritone and 1 bass. Voctave eventually settled on 5 women and 6 men (i.e. 2 sopranos, 1 soprano/alto, 2 altos, 3 tenors, 1 baritone/bass and 2 basses). That arrangement changed a couple of years ago when the tenor/director, Tony De Rosa left and was replaced by Drew Ochoa and the bass, J. C. Fullerton left and was replaced by Aaron Stratton.
