    It’s amazing to me that so few people in the western world really understand what is so awesome about Dimash. I have played him to so many people who just say, yeah he’s good but then never listen to him again. I don’t understand. I had no knowledge at all about music, but I only had to hear one verse of SOS to be blown away, totally dimashified and addicted. I have since listened to and watched every professional persons reactions to understand why he is so awesome. If my untrained ear can recognise his brilliance, I don’t understand why so few people around me don’t. His training, dedication and love of what he does is amazing. But he has just got that something special that brings it all together to make him so unique. I get so much pleasure just listening to him talk, he doesn’t even have to sing to have me captivated. I am so glad I am an old lady and not a young single girl. I would never be able to look at another guy I would be so besotted with him. Now I just want to adopt him 💕💕

    I’m french and I discovered him recently, it’s actually a shame that he’s not known more in Europe and as a whole, out of the Asian continent. He deserves it. I hope people around here will start discovering him soon. If anything, it would be such a waste for humanity if that kind of talent were to be ignored by so many people… Everyone should listen to him at least once in their lives.

    OMG!? I have exactly the same!! Every time I try to interest someone (and awaken in them the same fascination that I feel for them) I get a 'He's ok' reaction at best. For my daughter who is a k-pop fan his A2 voice is too low (Stray Kids Felix also has a low voice but he likes it) and his falsetto is too high (Ateez Jongho also sings high and that's ok for her too). I gave her various "versions" of Dimash: from Unforgettable day through more pop Be with me to My swan. The most enthusiastic reaction was shown by my sister when I sent her Stranger. She said beautifully. I thought then that maybe I convinced someone to it, but when I sent her a couple of other songs, she didn't comment on any of them. Other colleagues I suggested more recognizable Dimash covers like All by myself but even that didn't help. Seriously!? How can you not see his undeniable talent?? His many years of hard work, which he puts into self-improvement?? I'm not a musician either (I used to sing in the choir years ago but since those days it's been a while and I can see that the voice is changing and all these weird voice exercises are needed otherwise the voice will disappear) and yet I can see his talent and hard work. Dimash himself says that he can't afford a vacation from exercise or else he might "lose" his voice. what self-denial!! ). Besides, the charisma he shows during his performances, his facial expression make me captivate every time I listen to him sing. I don't know Russian even though I'm Polish (our languages are similar, only the alphabet is completely different😊) and yet when I heard his version of Love is like a dream I couldn't stop my tears (yes I know I'm soft 😁). And his personality... Dimash is still a warm, humble man despite his career. At every step he emphasizes his love and devotion to grandparents and parents, attachment to friends and patriotism. He did more to make Kazakhstan famous than politicians (let's be honest, didn't Kazakhstan earlier associate us with Borat only??😉). It was he who showed the world on a larger scale the beauty of Kazakh music, introduced the world to dombra and bagpipes. Dimash is a Kazakh national treasure, in my humble opinion 😊 I'm angry that only now I let him kidnap me 🤬 After all, he hasn't been singing since yesterday. Well, but as we say in my country, better late than never 😊 I'm greedy because I wish for myself and the other fans that he will perform as long as possible. And he did not forget that he is still only human and as such he has the right to have a bad day and all human weaknesses😊 Sorry for the long comment but it just came out themselves 😁 DEAR4EVER💙🇰🇿🕊

  • @lore9753

    @lore9753

    2 жыл бұрын

    But before you react to "Daybreak," you MUST learn the true-life tragedy behind the song and keep your subtitles on because the lyrics are critical for the song. In China, in 1999, there was a terrible cable car accident that killed several people, including a young couple who were aboard with their two-year-old son. They managed to lift their son up to rescuers before they plunged to their deaths, still aboard the cable car. The song was written by the woman who found and adopted their son. You can watch more information about it on Gloria Wu's channel. Make sure you react to the 2018 Bastau version kzread.info/dash/bejne/ZJ-OtqyjfNKqZpc.html because Dimash was sick and had actually lost his voice right before he sang it on the 2017 Singer show. Of course he was still good, but the Bastau version is amazing.

    Your are right. He is a Master of his art. Dimash has extra-ordinary talent, but without putting in a lot of hard work, he would never have been able to develop his voice and performance to what it is now. Many people have raw talent, but few have dedicated their lives to perfect their art the way Dimash has. Because Dimash has studied voice since he was 5 years old and practiced several hours every day throughout his life, he was able to keep the upper registers after puberty when most other boys his age went through their voice changes. With continuous practice as an adult, he was - and still is -- able to extend his range significantly, both in the lower and upper registers. In interviews, Dimash compares his vocal exercises to the kind of training athletes have to undergo. He is a very disciplined artist. In addition to 3 hours vocal practice every day, he also exercises daily and swims under water to strengthen his lungs and chest muscles to support his voice. As a dedicated Muslim, he does not smoke, drink alcohol, use drugs or profanities, or engage in questionable social activities. You will find no scandals about him. He surrounds himself with his beloved family and like-minded friends and artists to stay well-grounded. Despite his success, he is a very humble, gracious person, continuously working towards ever greater mastership of his art, always striving to be worthy of every song that he is performing. That is why he is such a powerful presence on stage: he always gives 100% to his music and his audience. He not only performs each song; he embodies it, body, mind, heart, and soul.

    Gerard, bien observado. Dimash aqui tenia mas de una hora de estar cantando en uno de sus primeros conciertos en solitario. Esto es de Bastau 2017, solo tenia 23 años, y ese concierto de Bastau fué impresionante, donde desplegó todo lo mejor que tenia. Muchas de las reacciones a Dimash vienen de ese concierto. De este concierto de Bastau 2017 te recomiendo dps increibles canciones, "DAYBREAK"(i,presionante imterpretación y una historia detrás tragica y triste), y "MY SWAN" (a dueto con una soprano Kazaja que fué una de sus mentoras de nombre Mayra, increible dueto)Saludos desde Panamá.

    Amazing stuff, no? The song was written for the old SciFi movie "The Fifth Element" (Bruce Willis) where a blue alien sings an earthling aria ("il dolce Sono" from Lucia do Lammermoor), then this alien aria which isn't quite possible for a human voice. Dimash doesn't quite do it either (changes some of the most difficult parts to fit more in his range) but still cashes in what would be an incredible performance by any soprano, much less a male vocalist. There are two other versions of this, where he pairs the Diva dance with a contemporary Italian song (Confessa), and another version where he sings Chinese opera lieder Drunken Concubine with famous countertenor Li Yugang. That's my favorite, since the sing-off is fantastic, and we get to hear his whistle register.

    Buenas noches. Dimas en los covers no imita, le hace arreglos y la hace a su manera. Por tu juventud, no sé si conoces la canción "Hello" de Lionel Richy muy popular en los 80. Escucha la versión original y después el Cover de Dimash. Dicen que es el mejor cover de una canción. También la canta en el concurso de Singer, pero no en el 2017, donde el participaba. Fue al año siguiente como invitado y la cantó. ESPECTACULAR. Gracias y un saludo desde Málaga, España.

    Always love your reactions and analysis. Diva Dance is originally a song from the classic 1997 sci-fi thriller “The Fifth Element” starring Bruce Willis and Milla Jovovich. For the scene the song’s composer, Eric Serra designed the piece with the intent that it would be impossible for a human to perform the high-pitch staccato sections. He had Inva Mula-Tchako, an Albanian opera lyric soprano, sing the notes individually so that they could then be arranged digitally and recorded. In the movie, this song is “performed” by an alien, Diva Plavalaguna, played by Maïwenn Le Besco. Chinese opera singer Zhang Jane sang her own rendition of the song, complete with a full orchestra, hitting every note almost perfectly without the help of a computer or digital aids. She even managed to sing some of the low notes. Dimash is the only male vocalist I know of who has performed the song exceptionally well, and in my humble opinion gave a superior performance. Although, I believe that he sings the song a semitone lower than the original. Here is the link to Zhang Jane’s full-length performance of Diva Dance: kzread.info/dash/bejne/nX6glNeJftawdc4.html Here is the link to the movie performance of the song: kzread.info/dash/bejne/iqKIp5ShYL2_Z5c.html

    The Diva Dance song was composed in 1997 by French composer Éric Serra at the request of filmmaker Luc Besson so that it becomes the highlight of the film Fifth Element. In the movie the actress who played the “Diva Plavalaguna“, the alien, was Maïwenn Le Besco, but the voice was that of the Albanian soprano Inva Mula and many musical passages were improved for obvious reasons with the help of a sound sampler. The piece was specifically written to not being sung by a human being because physiologically impossible. When Éric Serra showed for the first time Diva Dance notes to Inva Mula, she pointed out that some sentences were impossible to sing, because the human voice cannot jump between notes so far apart on the music scale as it was written on the score. Therefore those notes were sung separately and then the recorded tracks were superimposed. Listening to the song there are some moments when you can clearly feel it. "For the scene to work, we needed her to sound like an alien, thereforee we had to create notes that no human could sing. So I purposely wrote un-singable things, some too low, some too high, sentences that were too fast, I would then arrange it with the sampler". And then, came Dimash :)

    Hi Gerard, I have watched almost all of your reactions to Dimash at least 5 times each. I just love your expressions. Please don’t stop. I know you as a vocal student yourself have learned so much by watching Dimash. Just remember that Dimash’s grandmother put him in a beautiful music college at age 5. He did academics half of the day and vocal training the other half. Dimash has sung a minimum of 3 hours every day, outside of school, since he was 5. He swims a lot for breath control. I am almost 67 and there is so much on You Tube about Dimash. You will find him in training and that wasn’t easy. There is so so much on YT about Dimash. In 2017, he was invited to compete in Episode 17 of I am a singer which consisted of known, established Chinese singers. Dimash was the youngest and only non Chinese. Kazakhstan was part of the Soviet Union prior to 1991. The country became its own republic in 1991. That’s why Dimash speaks Russian fluently as well as Kazakh. Those were the only two languages that he understood and spoke fluently. His English wasn’t the greatest in 2017 but I still strongly believe that even today, he speaks English better than Americans who only know English. Of course he has gotten 95% better. What I love about Dimash singing in many different languages is that he knows exactly what he’s singing every song. He has a way of translating a song that’s not in his language and taking the time to write it out in Kazakh or Russian and that helps him understand every word he’s singing. Then he phonetically write it out so that each word in whatever language is pronounced correctly. I understand that his brother was his translator. He’s not a singer but a great writer, composer, and an instrumentalist on many different instruments. Seems like every Kazakh knows how and to play the dombra. Dimash also plays many instruments. He did his first American solo concert 12/10/2019 at the Barclays Center in New York City. Igor Krutoy’s picture is framed and on the wall with many, many other great artists at the Barclays Center. I know SOS was the first time you heard Dimash. It was also his very first song he sang during that 2017 Chinese competition. He had to go first to start the season. He came in 2nd place because there was only one prize and of course it was given to a female and Chinese. She was okay but we all know, Dimash won that competition. She won by mere tenths. The 18th Episode Jessie J won. I am not a fan of her at all and felt Hua won that competition but since the Chinese wronged Dimash, they tried to make it up by awarding it to Jessie who is from the UK. At the finale, Dimash sang a cover of Lionel Ritchie’s song Hello. He took nothing from Lionel who again, I have never been a fan of at all. Lionel and Vitas’ both gave cease and desist letters and Dimash can no longer sing Opera 2 or Hello. That’s their loss as no one will bother to listen to the original of a very old song. Lara Fabian loves Dimash. They’ve done duets together and her song is what he opened the competition singing. She loved it. Dimash was only 22 and he said that was the first time he had ever performed on”the adult stage”. You can’t help but to love a gentle, humble, compassionate, talented, family oriented, spiritual, multitalented, etc young man. Don’t forget to wish him a Happy 30th birthday on May 24, 2024. He wrote the song called Unforgettable Day when he was 18. Igor Krutoy came out of retirement to work with Dimash because he knew he was special. Igor has composed many original songs for Dimash. Dimash has composed many songs for Dimash. He surrounds himself around people that he knows and trust. I love the fact that you have pulled songs from his live concerts. Initial songs for the first time are premiered but once Dimash really puts his spin on a song during his live concerts, it’s a beautiful thing to witness and see. The closest I will ever get to Dimash is through You Tube as I don’t care for large crowds at all but you should try to attend one of his concerts. I would love to hear you sing. My son has his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Musicology singing Opera. Working on his Ph.D. now. You may not have heard of the movie staring Bruce Willis called The Fifth Element. There is a blue alien like Opera singer who sings a part of Diva Dance. The rest of that song is computer generated where the producer thought that no one would be able to sing that part but Dimash showed him, didn’t he? My son made me watch that when he was about 15 at least 100 times if not more. I can tell that many young people have no idea that Diva Dance is real and Dimash does a cover of that part of the movie. He would love to do another concert in America but they want him to sing what they want. Many other countries have opened their doors and hearts to Dimash. Western Culture music is the same old thing over and over. We dance and do house chores from the band’s music, not the singer. Very few real talented Americans who can actually sing and I am American. Sure take your clothes off, shake your butts and they have a show. So distasteful. I do love Luis Fonsi. JLo sings much better in Spanish than English but I wish she would put some clothes on. Anyway Gerard, I love you and love your reactions. Thank you. Go on Throga’s channel, you can learn so much for your own career.❤️🇺🇸
