My dad sang barbershop music for the better part of 50 years. He passed 5 years ago. The spine tingling harmony never gets old. This group sounds great. The lead singer has some very impressive lung capacity and the whole time holding the note perfectly. Well done gentlemen.

Who I thought was the lead singer ended up actually being the tenor. My mistake. It is Tim Waurick, phenomenal singer.

"Go the Distance" is a song from Disney's 1997 animated feature film, Hercules. It was written by composer Alan Menken and lyricist David Zippel, and originally recorded by American actor Roger Bart in his film role as the singing voice of Hercules. American singer-songwriter Michael Bolton recorded a pop version of the song for the film's end credits. so i think i was dead on what i said.

This is a song by Vocal Spectrum,an international barbershop quartet world champion . Arrangement is from Tim Waurick, the tenor, thus the mostly tenor melody and that awesome last note is indeed all Tim. He is known for long notes besides being an awesome arranger and he can sing all four barbershop parts for a demo tape, He has quite a few songs on here. Has performed classical music as well and has sung in many countries and Carnegie Hall too! Not bad for someone from Missouri !! Check out Vocal Spectrum's " Bring Him Home" featuring Tim as well. Google Vocal Spectrum for their website and contact info.

Hi Gary, I really admire Tim because he is one of the most talented singers I ever knew...but this arrangement has been written by Aaron Dale, not by Tim. Probably you can buy the perfect Teachtracks Tim sung (all four voices!). And without having the music in front of me, I am quite sure hearing Eric's beautiful voice (the lead singer of Vocal Spectrum) singing the melody...

The words are "the gods" in the film, and "my god" in the Michael Bolton version. While personally I prefer the former ("gods" rhymes better with "odds"), the latter gets used in a capella versions more often, because it's adapted from the Michael Bolton version (the film version omits the verses and has dialogue over where they were).

He only sings about 3 and half octaves in that video, the rest of it is entire voice manipulation. The point of the video is to basically mock this idea that he has some sort of super voice. Can't believe how many people actually buy that, and actually believe that is him singing those pitches...

The bass is singing in the final chord, he's just drowned out by Tim's Ab. The final chord is bass (Chris) = middle Db, tenor (Tim) = Ab above middle C, baritone (Jonny) = Db octave above Chris, and finally lead (Eric) = F above high C. Obviously, because Tim, and possibly Jonny (the man's got an amazing upper range) are belting, Chris's relatively low Db gets covered up by the group. He's singing though, trust me.
