The female singer is Minna Seo. She is a 21 year old So Korean jazz singer. I read she is call "the Princess of Jazz". She & V's voices blended so well. To me V's voice is like silk & honey & envelopes you in a warm hug that penetrates your soul. A big thank you to his Grandmother who helped raise V till he was 14 & who introduced V to the old classics, R&B and of course, JAZZ. I want more of jazzy V.

Just to correct though, V Taehyung was introduced to Jazz more after he started playing saxophone for his college entrance. He said that on Taechitwa episode. Otherwise I agree with you!

A total performer. A whole package. Talent, soothing voice, the way he moves, his fashion style, visual, that high notes. The real artist INDEED. His voice is so flexible😭 not everyone could sing like this.

V can be chill but in his teens and early 20s, he was playful, likely to play jokes on his members and clown around. On stage, he is very animated and engages in playful interactions with the other members. Of course he can be very sultry. He is very expressive and is an actor that can project what a situation recquires.

V Taehyung is easily one of the most versatile vocalists out there. 💗🔥 From Jazz to Neo Soul to Ballads,Rap, Rock, Opera, Hip hop, Indie acoustic pop..you name it he is good at it. A prodigy I say.

In the past year or so, I think V's English has improved quite a bit. However, I really like his accent that remains. I find it very charming, so I hope he never loses it completely.

I love that Tae doesn’t try to overshadow the musicians and artists around him. He encourages them instead, encouraging them to give their best and be the main character. Which is something he abounds with, character. Charming man. 💜🫡🐯🐻

That’s actually how you get attached to them, you find a little bit of yourself in each of one them.

So true. I see so many similarities with Taehyung,when I was younger and even now. Maybe because we are both born at the end of year (i'm 29th and he is 30th). He is my ultimate bias and the person who dragged me into Bangtan world and I never left. They are amazing humans and artists.

He is actually quite a shy person. But, also very confident and mature. It's a beautiful mix. I love him.

V is unique. He thinks out of the box. I would say he is a contradiction. An old soul and a child's innocent mind trapped in a young man's body. His younger persona is jumpy and hyperactive which he said has mellowed down over the years. He is an old soul and prides himself on listening to many music genres. He shares his playlist to ARMY when he goes live so we get a glimpse of it somehow. His appreciation for Jazz started when he studied to learn saxophone.

She is Minna Seo a 20years old singer. She started posting live covers on KZread about a year ago. All her videos indicate that her area of expertise is Jazz. Last year, she held quite a few solo Jazz concerts in Seoul and even managed to sell out the Lotte Concert Hall in September last year. BTS’s long-time producer Docskim follows Minna on Instagram, and she is also followed by Hyesung, who worked with V on his Bing Crosby cover.

A better representation of V's jazz fusion is his appearance on Korean Tiny Desk.

V has beautiful vocals and vibes. He once said that he likes to give the instruments space to breathe. You can experience this in many of his solos in the past and he carries that in his latest Layover projects. I was so impressed that, as a young man, he clearly appreciated the musicians giving more vibrancy to his musical choices. Yay V !!!!!!

Younger V actually used to be so wild lol, not shy at all, not necessarily to gain attention I think. I think it’s more like small town farmer boy gets to go to the big city of seoul and be with a band of brothers that travels the world, so he was excited lol. This was wonderful! There is video of V dancing in this dive bar in Vegas back in 2022 (PTD tour which I was lucky enough to attend). He is dancing freely to Frank Sinatra amongst several senior patrons. V is just a free soul does what he feels, quite beautiful. Yay! An entire album. Oh you are going to love this journey. I will be watching.

Tae is definitely an old soul. He’s very unique. You can get more of a sense of him if you saw how he decorated his home. It’s very eclectic. He has really become more relaxed and calm since debut. You wouldn’t be able to tell but he used to be loud…hyper and very talkative. The other members thought he was so strange when they first met him and couldn’t relate to him at all. He’s so different and it’s his eccentricities is what I love about him the most. I love the differences between all of the members. It’s why they are never boring. Put all these personalities together and you have the best boyband ever!

V can definitely be shy and give off a chill vibe when he's on stage with his solos, it's part of his charm! But he is one of the youngest and can also be loud and playful, for example during the games they all play together in their variety show Run BTS. I am so excited for the Map of the Soul journey!!! You are right Richard there is 'Map of the Soul: Persona' and then its continuation is 'Map of the Soul: 7.' It was originally planned to be a trilogy of albums, but they had to merge the last two albums into one because they essentially got extremely busy due to their launch into worldwide stardom, their global tour that got extended etc. They originally planned to break the Map of the Soul era into the 3 stages of Jungian individuation with 3 intros written by each of the rappers. Basically, RM was in charge of writing Persona, because his role as the leader puts him in a position of extreme pressure and potential conflict with his 'persona' or the 'outer layer of his self that he presents to the public', when he became the spokesperson for BTS during their American expansion he really felt the pressure having to speak for all 7 and feeling like he was representing them in foreign countries and in his second language. Being RM, his analysis of his Persona of course is much deeper than this, but it's just to keep in mind that there's a lot of conflicting emotions that come with being such a public figure in a position of leadership where so many people are looking up to him for guidance (both the BTS members and ARMYs all over the world). I'm sure it's no surprising to you that SUGA would pick up the opportunity to write the 'Shadow' interlude as he is the one who never refrains from talking about the darkest sides of being a human. I strongly recommend checking out the MV for this song as well as a video explanation, it's all about the symbolism. The Shadow stage of individuation is also the main theme in Black Swan. Finally, RM and SUGA have said that they feel grateful towards J-hope for taking the responsibility of writing 'Ego' the last stage of individuation, because it's extremely hard to write about what it is like to accept yourself as a whole, both light and dark sides and J-hope does an incredible job with this piece. You'll notice in typical J-hope fashion that while the music seems to be upbeat the lyrics are deep and reflective and they are not necessarily always positive. J-hope likes to play with this contrast a lot. About the lyrics problem, I agree with Johnny that most translations are not great, but you can check the Doolset lyrics website that has all translations done by Korean native speakers with notes to the side for cultural understanding of context since some expressions just wouldn't make sense if translated literally. Also never apologies for long reactions, we love them!!! And purple you guys!

Taehyung is a favorite for me to listen to that wonderful voice. I listen to him often on through the BTS shows the small things like run BTS, In the Soem, talking about his love for Bing Crosby and Sinatra he loves Bing Crosby’s voice. Tae Hyung is very laidback but he can be very friendly and outgoing. V is his alter ego and he is very charismatic on the stage. He has said many times that V is how he can really shine for BTS. He does have a very pure and sweet soul and you would never believe he is as famous as he is when you see him on various interviews and variety shows. He also thinks outside the box so he is very quirky.

Yes! V is an old soul with unique personality and an innocent thinking yet genius at the same time and a shy demeanor yet funny but has a serious and creative mind. 💜💜💜

V is old soul. His comfort zone as a soloist is chill laid back jazzy vibe songs. But as part of BTS, he takes on a different persona and do more pop type of songs. But consistently, V is very selfless in terms of giving other musicians the limelight and in appreciating their work.

His voice is very versatile which is interesting as it is very deep. You get to experience him growling and with a lot of rasp in the early BTS songs, lots of intensity, then you have his duets like this and with IU (which is incredible) that he can match and blend pretty well with other voices, then you have the more jazzy songs, more ballad styles. It just shows how good of a singer he is. Usually people just notice his charisma and great performances but his vocals are no joke. Excited for you to get into MOTS! It is a great era with LOTS of amazing music. And, if you have time in the future, I recommend you check out the episode with IU. She is an amazing singer and her chemistry with the BTS members (Suga, V and Hobi) is really wholesome.

Taehyung's voice blends so well with female vocalists. I would appreciate your review of Taehyung's performance with IU, on IU's Palette; a programme IU makes with other singers, but if you search YT with 'V Ending Scene IU Palette' there is the full clip of just the song, with subtitles. 'Ending Scene' is a beautiful song, and their voices fit perfectly together and as a duet, it feels like a song from a musical ~ a couple who are parting, yet still love each other.

You are right, V has a lot of respect for other musicians. On stage, he shares the limelight with his bandmates or collab partners. Not at all greedy about it. Enjoying the music is more important for him. He also openly supports very good but underrated musicians.

Taehyung does have an old soul vibe and he loves older songs/movies that his old soul shines through. He can be quite reserved but also playful and goofy at times. He is very gentle, loving and caring. He also very honest and what you see is how Taehyung is. Many people describe his personality as unique. I'd describe V's personality more as impish. He is very playful and can act a little spoiled when he wants something. There is a playfulness to jazz that I think appeals to him as well. I think the deference to the other musicians comes from his love of jazz and the fact that he is used to giving the spotlight to the other members of BTS and sharing the song in the way that best serves the song. They all do this. They have always said they choose parts by what best serves the song.

His accent when singing in English really give the songs that extra extra oomph , not that he ever needed that extra, but you know, it gives character. Minna Seo is the name of the female singer. She seems to be still new and up & coming and apparently helped with providing background vocals for V's cover of It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas too. Also yes, Taehyung (V's real name) is definitely an old soul who can be shy, calm & gentle too. But he also has his energetic, competitive & silly moments too and we love it all!

V's Jazz songs are so good because of his lilt and baritone. He sometimes sings higher on BTS songs due to the nature of who is composing. For instance even though all the later Japanese songs were gorgeous and some of my favorites I know that as Jungkook help write those songs they tended to be in a higher key and V actually took lessons so that he was able to hit some of those higher notes. On the Map of the Soul albums. If you want to understand the lyrics better I suggest reading the lyrics on Doolset's Wordpress - BTS. They do very well with not only doing the correct lyrics but also explaining when an English word is not sufficient to comprehend a Korean Ediom. That is a wonderful album to take on and I encourage you to put on your thinking caps as it is a big place to start to start chewing on what is the BTS Universe.

When V/Taehyung was younger, he was more of out-there, playful, and a jokester. He would usually play tricks on the members and has a very unique personality and intelligence. I like to describe him as the eccentric of the group and has a unique humor (and it's because I can totally relate, I'm eccentric too!). When he got older, he learned to appreciate the quiet and silence and has been loving his alone time. He shared this sentiments in their most recent documentary. On another note, I think V still has that playfulness in him which shows whenever he's with the members during their performances, it naturally comes out especially with Jung Kook, Jimin, and Jhope. They just can't stop messing around with each other and still act like kids. His playfulness and humor is still in him and comes out time to time. They have a variety web series with hundreds of episodes, called Run BTS, where they play games and interact with each other and V is sometimes the most hilarious one. His humor is out of the box.

V Taehyung can play many instruments like saxophone and piano. He even started learning to play trumpet in 2021! He's very multi-talented and multi-faceted. He's very energetic and charismatic on stage and for BTS songs and then he has his more gentle warm and charming side for his Jazz performances! His duality is insane!

I don't speak English and to understand them I do it through translators. But I love BTS and I give attention and time to those who show genuine interest towards them. There are so many songs to react to. New people generally turn to the current ones, and in the old ones there is a lot of material to know them, value them, love them. Important data such as knowing that Jin started singing at 20. An age in which most are already debuting, he was just starting to be trained at 20. The situations they have had to deal with to be who they are today. In addition to his talent, all his constant fight against the system, the haters, the hours and hours of practice. His demonstration of love and gratitude to his fans, his humility and simplicity, his talent. Did you know that they write the vast majority of their songs? That their songs have messages, experiences, reactions, answers, comfort, support, company, empathy, a lot of sincerity. That RM learned English by watching the series Friends? When V was younger he was an extrovert. I think he was always told to tone down his "weirdness" (he would make odd references sometimes), he just became more and more quiet.
