It’s so wild to me how people are surprised by his vocals after hearing him in BTS songs lol. I remember hearing The Truth Untold for the first time and being absolutely blown away by his voice. His solos are incredible! Another gem is his duet with Taehyung “It’s Definitely You.” Their voices complement each other soooo well.

casual fans dont listen to their album music where a lot of members show their true vocal colours. they're only exposed to the title tracks bts promote so its unsurprising he thinks bts have been holding jin back lol. its the farthest thing from the truth if anything the versatility of their group music has allowed him to explore so many different styles.

I was shocked too, I'm not an Army but I do listen to their songs but I don't really checked out all the songs in their albums. I was on Spotify just casually listening to kpop and then I heard this and checked it out, I literally got goosebumps. This song was so brilliant, the farewell feeling was really there as he was enlisting in the army.

Jin has so many amazing solo songs you could check out that show all his beautiful vocals!! Awake, tonight, epiphany. He's an amazing vocalist and his live vocals are even more heavenly. (He actually wrote the astronaut together with Coldplay as a little goodbye gift for army before he enlists in the military, please check out the live performance he did of the song. It's absolutely gorgeous)

It’s Jin’s debut, but it’s certainly not his first song, those “vocal chops” go so high…! I swear songs like Epiphany or Crystal Snow would blow you out of the water Tristan 😭 He’s known for being the powerhouse vocalist in BTS, in fact he stands out a lot because in the lyrics he DOES get, it’s usually high notes. And my man doesn’t go into falsetto, he straight up belts. 💜

The first 2 yrs JIn was still learning his craft. He was not a singer. so, at 20 yrs old, he decided he wanted to learn to sing. and dance. The dancing took a bit longer, but he held his own.

The most exciting part of it for me is that, until he was grabbed off the street by Big Hit for his looks, Jin had zero interest in singing. Then he gets signed and discovers that he has this gorgeous voice! Phenomenal!

To paraphrase Jungkook 'Jin has the widest vocal range in BTS'. And quote Namjoon 'Seokjin is our secret weapon'. It's such a shame that he's been so underrated for so long and it's only now, that's he's about to enlist, that he's able to do his song and all the variety shows. He's so versatile and humble and I'm going to miss him. At least we have all the other solo projects to look forward too!

But he is. Come to think about it, at some point, the company may have not been invested on the members equally. We’ve heard stories that JK and V got vocal lessons. While jimin and jin had to learn by themselves. Shouldn’t they have invested more on Jin considering that he was recruited only for his visuals and had no talent when he joined the team?

Agree that their poppier songs tend to use more auto tune but if you listen to their ballads, vocal line songs, or even Jin’s solos in BTS’s discography, you’ll realize that, no, they haven’t been holding Jin back. We’ve always known he was a whole vocal powerhouse with amazing range.

They have been holding, he hardly get any line and they never post all the achievements of The Astronaut on their official site. He received a trophy and we need got a congratulations from the label and his acceptance speech as well. So yes BH is not respecting him.

Before they all went solo this year, they all already had solo songs on their BTS albums in the past. Jin has multiple solo songs that you should react to like awake, epiphany and moon. Some new army’s probably don’t know about all their old solo songs and even RM, J-hope and Suga already had solo albums and EP’s.

Jin has few previously released solo songs too: Awake, Epiphany, Moon (these are credited under BTS discography), and then there few others like: Tonight, Abyss, Yours. And last year Jin release a super fun fishing track to comemorate his birthday: Super Tuna

I was very surprised by your comments about Jin and how he is not appreciated enough for his vocals in BTS. I guess you have looked at BTS from a very small bubble and haven't really heard their album tracks. I guess most of their singles are faster songs and Jin really shines on their mellower RnB and ballade tracks. Also BTS are outstanding live. I don't even know the number anymore but they have dozens of live concert DVDs and concert livestreams. You should really check out "Epiphany" "Moon" and "Awake" which were Jins solo tracks released under BTS. BTS vocal line songs are absolutely amazing "The Truth Untold" "Butterfly Prologue Mix" "House Of Cards Full length" "00:00 Zero o'Clock" Also their groups songs like "134340" "Don't Leave Me" "Crystal Snow" "Film Out" "Let Go" "Dream Glow" "Answer Love Myself" "Dyonisus" are great examples of his vocal range. (btw there are a lot more, I just cannot list all of them. BTS has over 200 songs lmao) Jin is the most stable live and really shines at their live shows. He has the nickname "Silver Voice" and he is the only member who has recieved actual applause and standing ovations at BTS stadium concerts from ARMY after he performed "Epiphany"

Imagine how broken we felt after hearing this and realizing it’s our last song from Jin for awhile 😭 he also mentioned that he wrote this song for Armys, so we were all wrecked by emotions 💜

jin said he sang with more of an old Korean style in this song! It’s so gorgeous and one of my favorite aspects of the track. I’m glad you mentioned the crooner thing because I’ve alwaysss thought that about him but I haven’t seen many people point it out!! He has such a beautiful lower range and I’m beyond happy we got to hear it, since he’s usually one to sing high notes 😭💕 he’s known as the belter of bts! And Jin definitely has more solos!! All the members do. They always have the freedom to do whatever they want which is why I wouldn’t say jin was held back at all from anything HE wanted to do. He might’ve just gone under the radar for you since I feel you’ve only watched bts from a pretty surface level. Also wanna comment that the members have said that they themselves come together to choose line distribution! definitely check out the live performance, it’s so precious, as well as maybe some more Jin solos, like epiphany!! Difiero contigo en que todos están de acuerdo qué líneas y cuantas líneas cantarán todos y cada uno de ellos. Quizá lo comentaron en una vlive, pero eso es lo que nos hicieron creer. Cómo Dynamite...no creo que Jin haya estado saltando de felicidad al verse disminuido en sus líneas y dejado hasta el final, al igual que el screentime. I'm not sure, but I think Jin might have the widest vocal range in bts. He hits some insane mixed notes in crystal snow and pretty good lows in Dionysus. Epiphany and awake are some songs where he's belting like a champ. Edit actually nvm the lows in dionysus, he goes lower in other songs, it's just a darker vowel there.

This was a Coldplay song that Chris gifted to Jin :) it’s all their melody and Chris is throughout the background . Jin did the Korean lyrics !! Beautiful so in love with this ❤️ you have to watch the live performance !! This really showcased his voice so proud of him ! Oh and the “ ohs “ are Chris .. classic coldplay

Dude, you've been sleeping on Jin! The "weakest vocalist" was never the narrative (early on it was his dancing that received criticism, not his voice). He is known as an emotive ballad singer with the ability to belt out high notes live and with relative ease. With the exception of "Moon" and "Super Tuna" you will need a full box of Kleenex- Awake, Abyss, Tonight, Epiphany- get used to his sound and you can pick it out of choruses and backgrounds.

Jin's voice is so prince like. Like if you close your eyes and listen to his voice, it's so heavenly, so handsome

Actually, a vocal coach has said that Jin is a countertenor, but yes, he has the widest range in the Group. He gets assigned to sing the low register with V, the Baritone, but he sings higher than Jimin, the natural Tenor. Maybe that was "why" he got the fewest lines to sing for 9 yrs, so as not to overshadow the other 3, incl the Main & Lead Vocalists? First, the in-house head producer, then later, post-Love Yourself albums, the Group did the "line distribution" for each member. For Jin to get the fewest lines still remains a mystery till now! Yet, Jin is BTS' Silver Voice (a Grammy Panel title for him), their only belter with the widest range, AND with the best emotional resonance due to his acting background? All this you have in this new MV, the perfect mixture of his artistic skills being showcased: singing AND acting! As an OT7 (all members of bts are my bias), I think kpop groups can be overwhelming in the sense that it's full of so many talented people, sometimes people's talents and uniqueness can get lost in it all but so glad people who HAVEN'T ALREADY seen what Jin really had to offer see it in this song, so proud of all of them 💜 PS definitely check out his other solo music, I think anyone whose never heard Jin's other stuff is extra surprised at this

Around Middle of this year Jin contacted Chris Martin of Coldplay(they are great friends!!!) and said he wanted to give a song to the fans before he leaves for the mandatory military service for 18 months .. so Chris sent a track and Jin wrote the Korean verses and they made this song together...They also performed it live in Coldplay's concert in Argentina Also Jin's vocals are greatly shown in his album solos like epiphany, awake ..the live of those are amazing

Chris said jin contacted him 6 months ago in Argentina coldplay concert asked him to give him a song bc he's leaving for the military. They didn't make the song together it's a song by coldplay producer sent him the song ready for recording but it was all in English so jin ask Producer if he can changed some verses into korea. That means he translated those 2 verses into Korean. That's why he was credited in lyrics. Translating English lyrics into korean is not hard but easy. He said it into weverse vlive dj jino translated it he's korean

Lyrics in the verses were changed due to Jin with the approval of Chris they wrote it together yes. Coldplay had this song as a gift to Jin but Jin put his own touch’s on it so it’s both Jin and Chris

Probably won't be saying anything other army having already mentioned but Jin definitely brought it all to this song, the love you hear him singing into that hook is 100% for army. He definitely isn't hidden in BTS or autotuned but if you're only hearing their newer singles I can understand why you may have missed him shining individually in the songs. If you get a chance try listening to the demo released on the album Proof which has one of his most amazing songs that is unreal, called Ephiphany. The lyrics are nonsensical in the demo but the vocal is to die for.

The whole song from start to finish is amazing, a soothing love letter and reassurance to us that he will only be away temporarily and he have been with us for so long and now we are strong to survive without him momentary. His song Yours that he released last year has been on repeat for me. His vocals are so amazing, and you would definitely love that song. It is very different then his vocals in BTS.

I feel so proud whenever people recognize and appreciate Jin's vocals and singing skills. "Holly sh+t, BTS has been holding this boy back" was really funny and heartwarming, but yes, so true. Jin's voice and his songs are always so soulful. I still remember listening to Awake and Epiphany and feeling each time like crying because of the lyrics and his voice. Such an wholesome human being. You need to go listen to his solo songs like epiphany, awake, yours and abyss asap. He is literally the king of high notes and falsetto. Usually he singles higher but this song is one of the few exceptions were he used his lower register more. He also said he tried singing like trot singers do for this song and that's why you felt his voice different.

Jin is seriously amazing

Jin is well known in ARMY as Our Ballad King. He really has a beautiful voice and next to Jungkook, he is so stable live. I think Jin was kind of left by the wayside as far as vocal lines because he had ZERO background in the singing and had to learn it all from scratch. So he was less focused on. BUT BOY HAS HE BLOSSOMED! He has been called Silver Voice by critics in the industry and he absolutely lives up to it. There are a lot of times when background vocals by Jin are thought to be another member. The boy can Belt!

The story of this MV is that Jin is an astronaut from outer world, and while traveling through the universe landed on Earth due to a broken spaceship. He was living on Earth waiting for his spaceship to be fixed so he can return to space. In the meantime he meets and creates a valuable relationship with the little girl (Army), who teaches him things, and in return, he helps Army to ride her bike (and be on her own). When his people finally come to get him on Earth, he excitedly runs and bicycles to the spaceship. Then, he realizes at the end that instead of returning to space, he wants to stay on Earth to be with his Army, that is now his family and home.💜 ...I'M NOT CRYING YOU ARE 😭 Chris Martin said that Jin asked him for a song for his fans and to say goodbye for a little while, to say that he love us..🥺 Jin and Christ wrote the lyrics and honestly, everything about this song is just so beautiful and emotional. This song has made cry almost the whole fandom. 😭 JIN WE ARE GOING TO MISS YOU SO MUCH BUT ARMY WILL WAIT! 💜 Anyways, you will be surprised to find out Jin's vocal range. You definitely need to react to more of his other solo songs and specially live performances bc this man is the most stable and always so powerful! (I recommend you 'Epiphany' live!) I love all his reaction videos. Jin is seriously one of my favorite people in the world. He's had solo songs before and I bet he'd lose his mind hearing those vocals.

You might've not seen too much content but Jin has had a lot of great parts, verses and high notes especially these last few years. I think Jimin said he was the one with the most range too ! He was killing the dynamite and ptd lives, his vocals on run bts are incredible. And he's stellar on the japanese songs He did do that song fully his in a range he doesn't often use which is great ! We've all been saying that he should be belting on some rock songs for a while lol, you should react to his live for this song at coldplay's concert, he asked them for a song for a special reason and they wrote it together

Jin said goodbye to ARMY with this song because in December he is going to do his military service, I swear I've cried every time I hear this song, it's beautiful. Jin is also known for being the silver voice and belting king of BTS, I think you don't know him much on an artistic level. Love all of Jin's solo songs, and he shines on the BTS ballads, especially love Love Myself: Answer(live). Love his lives from concerts. The Coldplay (live) in Argentina is amazing. Right before he enlists. This is a song to Army, represented in the video by the 10 yr old girl.

Thanks for reacting ! 💓 Actually seokjin is well-known for his high notes and his solo songs under BTS discography are usually high , that's why this time we all surprised because it's the first time he sings in really low register . It would be nice if you could react to his solo , - Epiphany ( his top tier solo , well known for high note ) - Moon ( the whole song is HIGH ) - Awake ( he sings the verse in a little low voice and there's a satisfying high note . ) - Yours ( it's a original soundtrack and his vocals really shines in this one , soulful and rich ) - Abyss ( you can hear the most beautiful falsetto ever in this one )

Idk if you have already listened to his other solo songs but 'Epiphany' is also such a good song from him! I absolutely love this song and it has changed my life so much 😭❤️

I’m so happy you found our lovely Jin! He has worked so hard to develop into this amazing singer!

I believe during My Universe, Chris Coldplay mentioned about Jin’s voice hence, now we have The Astronaut that being out all the best side of Jin’s vocal. I think there’s more to him & I’m willingly wait for his album to be released after he complete his military & have a well deserved rest.
