ABOUT…
I am Rebecca and I am one heck of a passionate vocal coach/singer/songwriter/impressionist/health/fitness/self- improvement/anything that makes me smile!! I love anything vocal/singing related and geek out on it every day. I want to motivate and inspire others to follow their dreams…corny? Well maybe but it’s true. So what’s motivating me?? I had a huge tumour removed summer 2017 and my ovaries and fallopian tubes. The tumour was the size of a 20 week baby!! However, despite not being able to walk for a couple of weeks, and feeling generally awful…. It has made me create and do what I love! It wasn’t an easy time but I won’t let fear dictate my life. I didn’t think ‘why me’, there are plenty of horrific issues people have to deal with…it’s not always smooth sailing. It’s true when you hear, ‘Life is short’, the crazy thing is, I am glad it happened…I appreciate life even more and practice gratitude everyday…It’s so easy to get caught up with the little things…and I do sometimes, but look at the bigger picture, will it matter in a year or two…?
Also thank you for all your support. It means a lot.
Subscribe to Rebecca Vocal Athlete to get inspired by new videos weekly!!
Have a great day!!

Would be brilliant to see a then and now vocal reaction to the song March of Time from this same Unisonic set at Wacken 2016 to the original recording (1988) from Helloween (w/Kiske). I"m so glad someone requested this song. The entire 2016 Wacken set is a showcase of Kiske's amazing voice. I finally had the opportunity to see him live in 2018 back with Helloween (Kai too!!). They're all aging (aren't we all?!) but splitting the vocal duties between the three vocalists was just incredible and they're still amazing.

Some suggestions I have would be Blind and Frozen by Beast in Black, or pretty much anything from their singer (Yannis Papadopoulos), Lost in the Light by Dungeon (the studio version of that song contains one of the highest notes ever sung by a male singer if I remember correctly) and Rising by LOVEBITES (A japanese full female metal band, so that would be something quite different).

There are bands and singers in music history that represent a point of inflexion in the fact that a new musical genre o subgenre where born with them, or consolidated and exploded with them. Michael Kiske and Kai Hansen (the guy with the red guitar that made harmonics in the chorus) made a point of inflexion with Helloween and their Keeper of the Seven Keys albums, back in the 1987s. They are living legends. These two guys had their musical diferences and split apart with their own projects (being Kai Hansen's Gamma Ray another legendary band), and seeing them together again is a dream come true.

This is weird, I just watched the Queensryche video, and then thought "hmm, I wonder if she has done a Helloween/Kiske video or if anyone's requested one, and BAM near the top of the search it pops up! Also I was in that crowd and it was phenomenal to finally see one of my fav vocalists ever live... and I've gone on to see him 2 more times with Helloween. On that "note", I fyou want to hear Kiske's more youthful voice from back in the early days then you should check out Helloween - Halloween live from '87.

It's not April fools day, then the other two possibilities are: #1 It was never real, only a myth. Kiske the new singer of the biggest HM Band of all time? Back at the time Kiske was only a good singer on recordings. I'd seen the Band three times over 4-5 years, first after Releasing 'Walls of Jericho' [the most important Helloween Album for many young musicians until now] in a Club with Kai Hansen, than the "30 minutes of shame" 1987 on Monster of Rock in Germany and 2 years later on a Festival. 1987: So many wrong notes from this cocky singer and a band with two great albums was pretty unique and painful to watch. 3 Bands later, the unstoppable force entered the stage, also young musicians, lost one of the greatest only one year before on a bus accident - METALLICA in the daylight, with only a Cover ep as a new release + Jason on bass... Many excuses for a "not so good gig" and they blew us all away. Everyone knows, this is the real Headliner for the years to come. No Band would take the risk to go onstage after Metallica... 2 years later Kiske sings better, but he also was so arrogant on stage, try to act like he likes the Music... As times goes by Kiske started to talk so much shit of Metal... He will never give his voice to a Metal Song. Wrote a book with dumb shit over commerce in Music... So that's the truth, not only for me. Many awkward Interviews in Mags shows the real Kiske... And okay I say it: Michael Kiske didn't give a shit about Metal, the only reason to come back is money!! But he tells the new generation of Fans (I'm in love with Metal since 1982, first time seeing KISS) the same lies ...

Michael Kiske is a powerhouse and a legend. His tone, as you noted right away, is unique to the point that when he is singing, even if it were several voices at one time - you'll know him. Numerous songs from "AVANTASIA - THE METAL OPERA" will attest to that. Like, listen for your own pleasure to a wonderful ballad "Farewell", where Michael comes on only at the very end over the chorus and transcends it. The guy actually gets songs written especially for his voice in various hard rock and metal projects! I guess that says something. :))

Michael Kiske (born in January 1968) is one of the most gifted singers I've heard in rock/metal. Great strong voice with a nice register and the guy can sing, to boot. Kiske came to prominence when he joined German band Helloween in 1987 to replace singer/lead guitarist Kai Hansen (the guy with the red flying-V guitar in the video) who found it too difficult at the time to do both lead vocals and lead guitar. The fingers on your left hand have an amazing dexterity to them. Looks like they'd like to live an Italian life, judging by the way they want to express themselves...
