Yes, it is really a conversation, between a daughter and a father who is dying and promises her that he will always look after her (from above).. and the last words are- sometimes we know what God is planning- so he knew his time was running out. That’s what makes this song sooo emotional and sad. One of the best singers in our area 🙏

Thank you.

I was born in former Czechoslovakia (the Slovak part). I grew up listening Karel Gott. He was and always will be our greatest singer. He is a national treasure even after his death. He was amazing to his fans, loyal to his country as he had chances to immigrate during deep communist Czechoslovakia. He received a State funeral. I LOVE him so much. An Amazing human, Czech and global citizen and the most Brilliant Artist. He was sick and knew he was dying when they recorded this song. This was a father telling his daughter how much he loves her and he will always be looking out for her (even from up above).

It was sad indeed as Gott already knew he was dying, so this song is even sweeter the memory for Charlotte now that he´s gone. Touching are the lyrics where he said ´I want to hear your voice before I sleep´ Sometimes you know what God is up to Někdy se ví, co bůh chystá And that you can't catch all the places, A že se nedaj stihnout všechna místa, But he is a good man, an altruist, Ale je to dobrák, altruista, After all, he gave me you, home, port. Vždyť mi dal tebe, domov, přístav. And in it is you, my whole world, A v něm jsi ty, celý můj svět, Kind arms and frantic flight Laskavá náruč i zběsilý let And around us music, one of those beauties, A kolem nás hudba, jedna z těch krás, When we get chills. Kdy po zádech běhá nám mráz. You know, hearts don't go out. Vždyť víš, srdce nehasnou. But it can happen Ale může se stát, how often Jak častokrát, that I start to fear že začnu se bát. Then you must not give up. Pak nesmíš to vzdát. To all of your ways, Na všechny z tvých cest, My only one of the stars Má jediná z hvězd, I'll keep shining for you. Svítím ti dál. What if I get swept away by the current? A co když strhne mě proud? Then you must sail Pak musíš plout, Have a raft of laurels Mít z vavřínů vor And don't fall asleep on it. A na něm neusnout. To all of your ways, Na všechny z tvých cest, My only one of the stars Má jediná z hvězd, I'll keep shining for you. Svítím ti dál. And now I can already feel how time is sprinting. A teď už cítím jak sprintuje čas. Before I fall asleep, I want to hear your voice. Ještě než usnu, chci slyšet tvůj hlas. Let those few moments remain matter-of-fact, Ať zůstane věcných i těch pár chvil, When did you sing at the top of your lungs? Kdy zpívalas ze všech svých sil. That your root is as stiff as a trunk. Že kořínek tvůj je tuhý jak kmen. Trees will grow back though, don't forget. Stromy však dorostou, nezapomeň. But there are thousands of routes in crowns. Ale v korunách vedou tisíce tras. I'll meet again at the end of each one. Na konci každé sejdem se zas. Little context, this song was released 5months ago, and Charlotte Ella Gott (13yo born 30.4.2006) knows that her dad will die soon. Text in general is: Karel Gott: I'll die soon and i'm happy that i have you and that I can hear your powerfull voice before i die....... Shee: I'm scarred ........ Karel Gott: I'll be shinning on you path ........ Finish: Gott Sometimes it is known what God prepares (I know that I'll die ) 1.10.2019 Karel Gott died at 80, and you can imagine how difficult is was for 13yo Charlotte Ella Gott, when she went from funeral at cathedral on Prague castle and on big TV screens for crowds outside were playing this song, so there is strong story behind this song and real emotions inside.

Maybe you´re interessted into Alexandra, a german singer from the 1960ies. She did sing folky schlager and Chansons and had a quite distinctive voice. Sadly she was only active for about 3 years before she tragically died in a car accident. Her songs are mainly in German and French, but she did also sing in Russian, Spanish and Hebrew. Songs I recommend, most of them rather short (2 minutes): Mein Freund, der Baum (My fried, the tree), Zigeunerjunge/Tsigane (Gypsy Boy), Accordéon, La faute du monde entier, Erev she shonanim, Ja Lubljú Tebjá (Ich liebe dich) (I love you), El Vito.

I noticed you've been reacting to Latin artists. There's a dramatic soprano lady by the name Mónica Naranjo. Her vocal range is really awesome (4 octaves I think and some semitones) with a flawless technique and a colourful voice. I know she can hit up to Eb7. React to Europa Directo Stage 😊 (she is actually a spanish singer but everything started in Latin America, she's well known here).

A dying father singing with his daughter, saying Good bye, knowing his time is running out... Hearts will go on Sometimes it is known what God prepares And that you can’t see all the places But God is a good-natured God, an altruist Who gave me you, home, a haven That’s where you are My whole world Gracious embrace And a wild flight And music around us One of the beautiful things That sends shivers down our spines You know, hearts will go on But it may happen Like so many times That I’ll suddenly get scared You mustn’t give up then I keep shining on illuminating all your paths You, the only one of all the stars And if the stream carries me away You have to float On a laurel raft And don’t fall asleep I keep shining on illuminating all your paths You, the only one of all the stars And I can already feel now how time flies I want to hear your voice before I fall asleep Let these few moments stay forever When you were singing so powerfully Your root is solid as a trunk But don’t forget that trees grow tall, There are thousands of routes in tree tops We’ll meet at the end of each You know, hearts will go on But it may happen Like so many times That I’ll suddenly get scared You mustn’t give up then I keep shining on illuminating all your paths You, the only one of all the stars And if the stream carries me away You have to float On a laurel raft And don’t fall asleep I keep shining on illuminating all your paths You, the only one of all the stars You know, hearts will go on But it may happen Like so many times That I’ll suddenly get scared You mustn’t give up then I keep shining on illuminating all your paths You, the only one of all the stars And if the stream carries me away You have to float On a laurel raft And don’t fall asleep I keep shining on illuminating all your paths Sometimes it is known what God prepares
