Plus they were only the one who believed and took the risk to debut her in a dominating industry since at the time when she debut it was alongside famous labels and groups (such as Girls' Generation, 2ne1, also other girl groups and boy groups) but through the years she stayed relevant and was able to build a name for herself. Plus she actually does not want too much fame. Being famous on her own country is enough for her. She was even shocked that she's THIS famous overseas well most likely to other kpop stans and not much people know of her but it still counts.

Also the color of her mic is the color of SHINee’s fandom color. She switched to that mic (usually hers is purple) when she sang for Jonghyun Gloomy Clock, a song he gifted to her as a tribute to him during her concert. As op said the mv has symbolism sprinkled throughout of the friends she lost and their memories and her singing it with that mic instead of her usual one is more reason for fans to think this song is about her feelings after losing close friends.

indeed a song bout her lost of memories and she's there to record her lost memories as what IU said. The sadness of losing loved ones and the healing through memory as a medium to overcome her sorrow. Lizard represent regeneration. The scene in our memory will remained the same, as forever young. In memory/dream, we can be anything thats when the lizard transform into a dragon. you are right, they will be able to see each other through their memories, where at the end of the MV IU smiled . i still feel heartache listening to this song.

But generally in life there are other things that we treasure come and go without saying goodbye like the airplane turbulence scene the lizard come and go. As how I think, the animated young girl is the forever young/memory IU. When she slide down and jump part it's more like recalling memories of having fun and danger where in life nothing is smooth sailing. When the part she jump, you can see the real sleeping IU scene turn red(danger). We know jonghyun love charizard. We can say that lizard charmainder evolved into charizard. Dragon came to rescue, we got each others back. We are each others support. The scene of dragon n plane, in the plane in current IU and suga that's heading to the future/continuing their journey and the dragon and forever young IU (memory) heading to the island that they build. Current IU tears of joy know that she can meet them in that island anytime as good or bad time, memory will be our healing tool to heal ourselves. Overall music and mv are individuals imagination. The impact that brings towards individual listeners are different. I lost my 13yrs dog during lockdown and yet I can't travel home to say goodbye. This songs tells me that I'm sad but I can heal my pain and sadness through happy memories I have with my dog. Life goes on.

Her personality is even more attractive. She has a big heart!

If you're talking about pure vocal talent, I would have to go with Sohyang and in the kpop category, I would select Taeyeon, though that would be VERY close, and I would be quite willing to argue the point.

IU is a goddess she is beautiful and that dem voice tho

when she had a concert in the philippines, there is no standing viewing because it’s 4hrs and she doesn’t want fans to suffer, but since the tickets are sold out the organizer decided to open additional standing slots, after her first song she saw the people standing in the gen ad section, she took time to tell the staffs to let the fans go down and sit near the front of the stage.

The mic is the SHINee fandom color, Shawols. The lyrics really make me think of Jonghyun and their friendship

IU has been the queen of Korean music charts for 10 years now. She obviously has several biggest domestic records. Never failed to get #1 on the charts since 2010, she covers a variety of genres and singing styles. IU is one of the most successful singer/songwriter, a lyricist, and a producer in Korea, not to mention she's a successful actress, too. She's like a living legend. Please check more of IU's music.

IU is like the main star of Korean artists, she is known to be the best singer in Korea. ALL Idols and artists incredibly respect her for reaching this place all on her own and when she lost her 3 best friends who were also singers due to suicide she kept going. That's why I respect her work and absolutely admire it.

If you see her leading Netflix drama, My Mister, you will be surprised once more by her performance. I recommend it because it is one of the masterpieces of K drama.

Fun fact: it’s thought that the MV represented Sulli and Jonghyun, two of her friends who passed away from suicide. The girl was Sulli and dragon was Jonghyun. It may not be true but it seems the song is for them too because of she sings “forever young.” With this verse, it seems as if she saying they will always live in her memory. Also, her microphone is the color, sea foam color, of SHINee, the group Jonghyun was it. It could just be a colored microphone she likes so or meant to be an ode to Jonghyun. IU didn't actually say that. She said that this song describes her life as a 28-year-old (which is part of why she chose Yoongi to do the song; they're the same age). She does this a lot with her songs where she links her age and what stage of life she's in to the lyrics, like in Twenty-Three or Palette. A lot of fans speculate that the song is about Sulli, Jonghyun, and Goo Hara, but she hasn't actually said anything specific about them or linked them to the song at all, so let's not put words in her mouth, please.

Considering her friendship with them, it would be too much for her to handle any criticism going viral. When asked about the song's meaning she simply stated with a sly smile' just listen to the song' (yes she has spoken other times and references you mention) I mean no disrespect to her or her fans, just saying their seems to be too much symbolism in it for me to ignore this theory- also as said by others, the number 8 sideways represents INFINITY or Forever (Young) as well as their time of friendship. Interesting that the number is spelled out in the title almost making this a subliminal message. I think it has a two-fold meaning with her hoping the message will be relatable to everyone and their own experience's as well as her own.

I really love IU’s songs they have really beautiful lyrics and chill vibes + her angelic voice. I recommend you to listen to Secret Garden, Through the Night, Dear name, Love poem. There’s so many more I can’t count them all but I hope you’ll react to her more she’s an awesome artist.
