In an interview David did, he said he was worried how his fans would react to the song the first time they played it in their lineup since it's very different from what they usually do, but to his surprise he saw fans waving their cellphones and crying because they were so touched by the song as they were connecting to it. After that it became a "must play" song at every concert they did. Paul Simon actually contacted David and told him that he loved the cover so much that he added it to his social media content. You know you did good when the creator of a musical masterpiece tells you he loves your cover.

I saw an interview he did where he said it was the longest studio time he spent on a song, doing it over and over. And when he came out of the booth he said the look on everyone's faces said he had done a stunning job, so he was very pleased. It was another band member who suggested doing quieter ballad style and building, rather than their usual approach.

I can listen to this version 1000 times and it always brings tears to my eyes. David Draiman was classically trained and you can really tell. He said he never spent more than an hour in the booth recording a song but he wanted to do this right and did a 3 1/2 hour session and said that when he walked out the entire band said “Yep that was it”. They really wanted to do this song justice but give it their own touch. Great reaction

I've watched many vocal coaches react to this and this was by far my favorite!!! You explained exactly what was going on without having to spew big unrecognizable vocal words all over us, this was a breath of fresh air. And I agree I love David, he is great, personally I think he's underrated as a vocalist!

considering the bands usual style of heavy metal, and davids yelling, screeching, growling. this mans voice remains. this is talent at its best. this rendition of simon and garfunkels song is one of the most beautiful songs i have ever heard. such feeling and warmth. i believe david has lived what this song represents. you can hear it in his great voice.

You are the cutest thing ever! It's nice to see someone react, that actually lets themselves react. Most of the people that I've seen doing these types of videos, are very hoity-toity, and essentially can't believe that a rock singer can actually sing. I got a little giddy inside when you first said that you knew Disturbed, and their music. That was a sign that I was actually going to like this video, and I really did! Good job young lady, and I can't wait to see more from you.

As someone who can’t sing if my life depended on it, I find your commentary on all the intricacies of voice so interesting! I’m completely tone deaf, and cannot carry a tune, but I do appreciate music. When I first heard this song, I was mesmerized by the lyrics, & while I’d heard the original, I never quite paid attention to all the words. I find this version haunting & often listen to it over & over. I stumbled on your video watching other reaction videos. What’s worth noting is I cannot find one negative reaction to this song.

Miss or Mrs. Harvey, Thank You for expressing the absolute skill and presence of David. As for the song, I was dismayed that anyone would dare touch Simon and Garfunkel's master piece. But David and Disturbed completely respected and owned their version to enlist a several generations to appreciate this song and them! I may as a Blue Grass fan never get into Disturbed and their other music, but I will never discredit them. Chris Stapleton of Country music as a writer and singer is excellent. Tennessee Whiskey, Millionaire, Parachute, Maggie's Song, Fire Away, Starting Over and Broken Halos are all great songs by him even if he didn't write them. He owns every song he sings without disrespecting the previous artists. To watch him play his guitar and look at his wife on stage with him you feel his love for music, her and the songs he sings. I believe you appreciate his voice and range and become a fan. maybe we'll see you do a reaction video to his music if you haven't already. I am new to hearing your reaction and I appreciate you expressing through your knowledge and skills YOUR appreciation of real singing talent. Thank You! For those that thumbs down, fear not for it is not out of disapproval of you or David and Disturbed, it is out of their lack of tact and ability. We'll pray for them. You are in my prayers Hoka Hey
