This is the most flexible I’ve ever heard her voice...usually it feels like she’s really straining to me, which used to be really noticeable at the end of some of her notes. I don’t hear that in any of her most recent performances. She sounds great, and the ends of her runs sound really dynamic and clean.

It’s not just this performance. Every time she has sung this song she has smashed it. You could tell that she has learned not to bring her up so much weight as she goes higher. She’s using her mask more, making her voice thinner and brighter as she goes up.

Tara Simon Studios, Thank you so much for reacting to this song! I’m Bipolar, have struggled with substance abuse, and have had deep, deep depressions where I was close to death! This Album, by Demi Lovato is my all time favorite. I’ve already listened to it like 20 times! Never before, have I been able to connect, relate, feel understood, and empathize with an artist and music so strongly. The power of music; singing along with Demi, in my car, harmonizing a third octave below her voice, I have felt such a cathartic release. For the first ever, I’ve been able to let go of intensely, negative, buried emotions by singing and emoting to each and every song! I shared this album with a friend that has struggled too, and we both felt so connected and understood each other and had streams of tears. How incredible is it to be truly understood!? By listening to this Album, and sharing it with my friend, I have let go of so many years and decades of emotional weight. Now, I feel truly alive for the first time in my life; I can finally completely accept all of my emotions, talents/strengths, and flaws and own it, having pure self-compassion. My singing voice is now infused with strong, intense emotions, I’m no longer afraid to truly feel the depths of sorrow. Rather, I can connect to it and express it through body language/movement and singing. I have so much peace and now I’m not afraid to feel alive and live in the present moment, seeing each day as a miracle/blessing. If I feel this way, I can’t imagine how many people Demi Lovato, through her personality, sweet soul, and magnificent voice, have also been profoundly changing other people’s lives. I feel inspired to be completely honest, reconcile my past, and grow in incredible ways. I feel happier today than I’ve felt ever before, in my whole entire life. I feel like my potential as a singer, and even more importantly as a soul, is infinite. I feel inspired to progress more in this life as well as in the life to come, and forevermore. This gives me profound peace, that I can live in the present moment more fully, not worrying about the past or future, knowing that there will always be another tomorrow! I now see everyday as miracle, and feel profound gratefulness in all the little things of life!

Demi has been through so much and I felt it in the explosion of emotion. When someone isn’t okay there are always signs, her song “Sober” was that sign. If people you know have an addiction, get help. It’s playing a losing game. This is currently my favorite Demi song. I’ve known people who’ve had those struggles, who haven’t been as fortunate to be pulled back from the precipice, and who didn’t have a lifeline. Demi’s song is so painstakingly real. Most never know their limit till they cross heavens finish line. To be honest, you can never definitively know something’s limit till you’ve reached it’s breaking point, and you never want to be the one to reach a limit in a dangerous game, because it can end up costing you everything. To stare into the void and not be consumed is a luxury many people aren’t afforded. Dancing With the Devil is a work of art with emotion rooted in experience and stands as a message to help others who could be experiencing the same hardships.

I think this is one of the best vocal performances I’ve ever heard. Obviously it’s a difficult subject matter but thankfully she is through it and hopefully she stays on the right path. The silver lining is she can draw on this experience to bless us with the performance, and maybe it speaks to someone else going through something and gives them the strength they need to make the right decisions for themselves and their loved ones x

I always love listening to demi. She brings me to tears all the time. You can feel her emotions not only through the lyrics but how she sings them. It's so expressive. She has many songs that I can very closely relate to how she feels and it's almost like she's my voice (I just wish I could sing like her lol). Her songs where she sings about her experiences and struggles are so beautiful and exactly what you said, "vulnerable". She's such an amazing artist, and I pray to God that she finds true happiness in her life, realizes how much she is loved, and never has another drug overdose.

So raw and honest. Thanks for your reaction! Would love to see your take on Lindsay Mendez singing “Pretty Funny”, from the Dogfight soundtrack studio recording. A heartbreaking example of the line between singing and acting. I think you’ll love it. 💚
