Hello from Malaysia Chris. From what I know, Deden is actually an Indonesian. I've been to Indonesia a couple of times and from my observation, overdriven belted songs are pretty much the thing in Indonesia. Especially among the local Batak Toba (an ethnic in Indonesia) artiste. You might want to check this trio called TRIO CENTURY. Overdriven vocal is almost a staple element in their songs.

You're the only commenting without pausing the video , i like that , some others coach pause and it make me stress 👍🏻

there are many cover of this song, and many singers has nailed it.. but i prefer this version, with a lot of distortion voice.. like a rock star.. the rasp is everything..

That’s the reason why Miljenko Mijatevic (vocalist of Steelheart) reported this video. It has been takendown since then. While sitting this guy (Denden) still can reach the high notes, what would happen if he’s standing....scary. Miljenko you better prepare your retirement

@@borisr1213 Totally disagree. He can reach high notes but doesn't make him a good singer. Interpretation suxs. He was so flat , not even funny. I couldn't believe it , the guy destroyed the song. Steelheart was one of my favs bands back then and reality is if you are not good enough please don't try. Check Tommy Johansson, his rendition is magnificent and his voice even better than the original. Cheers
