Knowing the full versions of these covers, i know that he was basically joking around half the time, taking recommendations for songs on his periscope live stream and being like "let's see if i can play this on the piano" while drinking coffee or beer after he had just woken up (which is why he's very raspy)😂

To Tara and anyone reading this. Something to know with this compilation of Brendon vs original it that a better (although much longer) title for the original comparison video should be: Original versions of Disney songs professionally recorded or filmed vs Brendon singing songs at home, usually in the morning without warming up, on Periscope by request while looking at either the guitar or piano tabs using an app on his tablet (plus one Tonight Show performance).

These are not the professional recordings of the original Disney songs; they're live versions by the original singers, mostly decades after they've passed their prime (except for Lea, whose prime has no end in sight).

Brendon is so amazing!! Even after just waking up just screwing around!

Me about 11 Months later: He was definitely drinking, or drank in most of these clips, I remember in one of his reactions to a Vocal Coach, there was a video of this same place where he sounded husky and he said that he was drinking Bourbon and playing Piano.

Wouldn't the original singer of "Go the Distance" be Roger Bart not Michael Bolton since Bart sang it in the movie and Bolton performed the soundtrack version?

No joke. Fooling around or not, Brendon was nasally throughout and flat towards the end. Donny Osmond owns that song.

I feel like Brandon's version of Can You Feel The Love Tonight was of Elton John's version of the song and not the movie version. All great regardless.

You should do him singing other songs besides Disney!

Sorry, this has nothing to do with this video, but I think you should do a reaction video to Jennifer Nettles from Sugarland, you will be pleasantly surprised. She is an amazing vocalist. They have amazing songs that show off vocals only including “Stay” and “Baby Girl”. She has also done a duet with Carrie Underwood of 9 to 5, she’s done a duet with Beyoncé, and a duet with Lady Gaga at the Grammys, and also Rihanna and Kelly Clarkson. She also played Roxy Hart on Broadway in Chicago, and she played Dolly Parton’s mother in Coat of Many Colors. I highly recommend a reaction video to Jennifer Nettles and Sugarland as a whole. I think you will grow to like them and especially her!!

"Nod of the Hat" Excuse me, m'lady, you meant to say 'tipping of the hat' to express the idiom correctly Great video, Tara, useful feedback for all singers in their own lives as well as a direct reaction/response to Brendon. You were very kind too considering how flat and thin he sounded for a few bars in every song. However, the professionals recording the Disney music only had to concentrate on their vocal, while Brendon had to play piano *and* sing, which is so hard and why I have huge respect for Gary Barlow, Elton John, Delta Goodrem, who can do it flawlessly... Brendon is nowhere close to that level on the piano, but with a guitar he is 8x better than in this video: pretty unstoppable!

I give him credit for trying. I mean he did reach some good female vocals but for me he was flat and forced it. Was this all one video of him covering these Disney songs? If so, for someone to put so much stain on his vocals through out the video he did a good job. If he did a cover each one on a different day and took it easy singing and not forcing it, I could totally see him blowing each one out the park! Make it your own, dont hurry through, and dont force it! Inbrace your voice, you have a great singing voice!

They are all from different periscope streams. Years ago at his old house he would livestream usually first thing in the morning. He would just sit at his piano reading comments from people and answer questions or just talk. People would make requests, he would look up the chords or tabs on an app on his tablet and would play and sing. He was never warmed up and there were many times it was his first time playing the song. That’s why sometimes he messed up when playing the song and didn’t sound as fantastic as he would with preparation and not reading from an app.

All the originals singers had better versions than Brendon

Maybe I'm just crazy but I don't know that he "won" any of them. Some of his clips were just plain bad... bordering horrible.

I don't really like Brendon's voice. Just not my cup of tea. 😶😶

The originals were better in my opinion. He is great, just not the best effort from Brendon here. Edit: also the quality of Brendon's stream wasn't good. Ill make a man out of you- his only win I'd say.
