The most viewed Ayreon videos are a bit older. Every two years there is a new concert series, last one was 5 concerts in September 2023. Arjen / Ayreon is making all blueray concert clips available now on YT. You'll recognise them by the greenish tubelike frame. Those concerts were wonderful as well, was happy to be there. Check them out!

The newly released live video of the song 'The Sixth Extinction' from the 2023 concert is wonderful :D

Last night I was lucky enough to see Floor in the flesh in a solo concert. We were blown away. I had 2 tickets, a gift from my daughter so I asked my brother in law who wasn’t familiar with Floor and not particularly a fan of Symphonic rock or metal. In the middle of the concert he exclaimed “wow, she is soooo good!” He was floored and got his first floorgasme! Seeing and hearing her life just amazed me that she can sing almost two hours with so much power and controle.

just go through that whole concert you won't regret it.

@@benbermusics Everyone overlooks the backup singers. Every top reviewer don't mention them. There is so much talent on this stage that they focus on the leads. Beth was very good with the names and bands the leads are with. They are called Ayreon's Angels and they are from left to right Irene Jansen, Lisette Van Den Berg and Marcela Bovio. There is a vodeo on youtube called "Ayreon's Angels take the lead" and the man himself Arjen Lucassen talks about how wonderful they are. Watch it. Beth is one of the best. No doubt about it. Peace!

The song is only so many minutes long and Beth can't keep on pausing..😃. Maybe in a next video the Angels can get more attention. Btw in the Castle concert Lisette and Irene were not there but replaced by Jan Willem Ketelaers and Dianne van Giersbergen. In the recent live version of The Day That the World... the chorus singers are Jan Willem Ketelaers and Irene Jansen and Marcela Bovio. The latter two do Floor's part, she could not attend.

No ego`s on show , just very talented musicians enjoying themselves and having fun away from the day job . More talent in the backing singers than a score of pop tarts .

Arjen is a brilliant composer and the singers are all on top.

Another fantastic vocal performance is Ayreon - Twisted Coil from the Electric Castle And Other Tales concert, it is a masterclass in interpreting a song by Damian WIlson.

Your facial expressions at the start are almost as spectacular as the song and the video! :D Arjen (and his producer, Joost) really deserve a ton of kudos for creating this music and putting on these shows. And Mike Mills is criminally underrated. That's a B5 at 0:35! Is he even human? Fun fact: One of the backing singers is Floor's sister, Irene. She doesn't seem to be a full-time musician, but she performs regularly with Ayreon and Arjen's other projects.

Irene has a day job as a school administrator. She never really wanted to be a touring singer like her older sister. Shes been apart of Arjens projects since 2001.

One of the few professional actual voice competence people Ive been watching now for years is our Beth. Keep at it, you are like the Toehider of reactors, you actual practice what you preach. Mike just released a Beyoncé cover on spotify btw. I hope you hear it.

Ayreon are always a treat! I discovered many great singers after listening to them. Made me a big fan of Magali Luyten and Marcela Bovio (one of the backing vocals in this vid).

Arjen has all but confirmed he will be doing another weekend in Tilburg @ 013 Poppodium. It indeed takes a lot of organizing to get all these amazing talents on stage, but the result is worth it. I've been to the last 2, especially the Electric Castle show was amazing (mostly cause I love that album and the story was easy to follow). You should really make an effort to come visit us then.

Please check out Avantasia, another project featuring singers like Bob Carley (Magnum), Floor Jansen, Alice Cooper, Roy Khan (ex-kamelot), and many others. I had the pleasure of seeing them live at Rock Imperium in June and it's the best show I've ever seen.

Yea even Marko sings in that show. "Eye of Ra" is song where all musicians show together on stage. It is really big crowd of top musicians that gathered together.

About biology: there is a bug named after Floor.

Referring to metal singers, “Everybody has such great technique, people really understand the geekery of voice” is almost a profound remark, it’s so true! If only more people realized this, the radio airwaves would be a much better place.

Plse do "twisted coil - guilt machine" live and be enchanted by the great Damian Wilson. Its also live but from another concert.

You absolutely should to 'Fate of Man' from the latest Ayreon concert. Brittany Slayes might even de-throne Floor with her vocal performance on that one.

Yes! Ayreon is my favorite band EVER. This song is an amazing example of vocal performance from it, but I really recommend everyone to go and watch Electric Castle And Other Tales, it features an amazing cast of voices including Fish (from Marillion). Thanks for this Beth.

I think you should take a look at Ironmouse singing. She's a V tuber who has a chronic illness that has forced her to relearn to talk and speak. The damage done at one time has permanently altered her voice. She was in training to be an opera singer when she was diagnosed with CVID. The songs you will find on youtube are great. Amazing if you consider she is on an oxygen feed. She sang like Shakira so closely it caused copyright strikes. She also sings in what she calls her opera voice singing from The Scarlet Pimpernel. Bonus is she has a charity subathoon on Twitch coming up.

Your ü in Kürsch was perfekt! But the German "sch" is just pronounces like "sh" in English.

First of those big Ayreon concerts was a performance of "Human eqation" live. A legit prog opera, with scenery, singers plaing roles etc.

The final piece of the the show "The Eye of Ra" has the entire cast on stage at once and that's an unsane amount of talent. Something close to 18 very talented metal singers and Arjen himself also joins in

The singer with the highest highs and lowest lows, playing the robot is Michael Mills, singer of Australian progressive band Toehider. If you get around to listen to the album's opening track _The Day That the World Breaks Down_ you can hear him sing a binary sequence - with pathos.

You picked up on Magali Luyten singing lower than the guy's, in fact all the lines Magali sings are sung by male vocalist on the original recording. In fact Arjen uses her a lot to fill in for male vocalists in his live shows.

What;s amazing the backup singers are all lead singers also Lissette Marcello and Irene (Floor's Sister)

I've listened to them for quite a while. I like their concept albums. Sometimes watching them it makes me think this is what metal heads look like when they become rich dads and get sober.

More Ayreon....!! Arjen is a genius, a great musician and expert. We are waiting for their (his) other songs!!! btw. the backing vocals are sung by sister Floor Jansen, Irene + Marcela Bovio + Lisette van den Berg.

I wish these Ayreon concerts weren't on the other side of the world. So many of my favourite singers on one stage. I did see Toehider (Mike Mills) live recently and Mike was great. Maggy Luyten is another fave too: her work with Beautiful Sin and Epysode are phenomenal.

Ah Mike Mills is often found just checking out random bands around Melbourne at any given time. I've run into him a few times & he's very very nice. He's a great Aussie representative

I don't envy the task it must be to objectively analyze an Ayreon song and the vocalists performances; I always end just feeling stupefied and drawn into the spectacle. I guess that's why it's so enjoyable.

If you want to see an absolute overload of talent on the stage at the same time time, listen to the last song on the show… never seen a choir with more over-qualified singers in it…

It's awesome!

You think such a combo of high tenor and low alto makes for a musical palette that is more earthy and warm in its net timbre? Generally speaking the lower the voicetype the more warm their higher register, wind instruments included. Overtones leading to tinniness or butteriness or warmth etc.

i really believe, there is something special in the Dutch water (or cheese) to have given us so many amazing bands, singers, musicians and producers over the last 30 to 40 years. and Arjen Lucassen is someone who brings them all together with many international singers as well. i think you could really spend at least weeks (or months) listening and watching Ayreon concept albums and live shows. i know i did during lockdowns. This was taken from Universe, a kind of Best Of. The Theater Equation, Electric Castle and Live beneath the Waves are shows were they played the entire album with some bonus songs. it doesn't matter if he gets the original cast together or not. the songs are beautiful. If you'd like to hear more of Maggie, i highly recommend Intergalactic Space Invaders, my favourite from this show. The Day That the World Breaks Down, Isis and Osiris and Day Two: Isolation are from the other 3 Enjoy!

I would say the adventure begins far in the past, about some hundreds of million years ago. The ten humans and TH-1 the android escape from planet Alpha in the Andromeda galaxy, a planet that will collapse because of some errors that the AI (the 'Frame) made. In their starship Star Blade the humans are converted into the Forever, telepathic, water breathing and not prone to aging and sickness. After the journey the Forever start living and thriving on planet Y which is a water world. This is the song Ride the Comet.The Forever arrive on planet Earth and set up our humanity. After much goes wrong, the horrified Forever reach back in time and collect eight random characters to fulfil a quest. This will allow the Forever to collect much needed emotions. Thus this is a story in the future, when the real humanity is gone... The album, and almost all songs are on "Into the Electric Castle and other Tales".
