    On the one hand I think that wouldn’t be appropriate because the whole idea of AGT or any of the “___ Got Talent” shows is that it’s for anyone with a talent, not just singers unlike shows like American Idol or X Factor. Having a vocal coach would show bias I think. That being said though they have Howey, who is a comedian. So it’s not like they’re opposed to having a judge who is particularly biased towards one group.

  • @stephaniedowell4345

    @stephaniedowell4345

    They should have a judge for each talent like a comedian judge, a singing judge, a magician judge, and maybe an oddity judge. That way it would be by people that actually have the credentials to be judging.

    People always say "God-given talent' but God-given talent is not uncommon. What's very rare is to see God-given talent realized to its full potential. It's how hard you work, the level of your inspiration, the intensity of your dedication, and getting the right support and instruction - Mind Body and Soul! All these factors are visible in Angelica and they reveal a very beautiful and a very powerful soul.

    @@Jo-pt2uh Yes we get Angelica, the talented child we can see and hear with the physical senses; but the real person, that invisible 'angel' everyone refers to, is there inside everyone waiting to be revealed by an inspired dedication. The work does not create, it only reveals a soul or consciousness that is infinite and eternal in its beauty and its possibilities.

    @@royalmason1539 When I listen to this song I'm punching my fists in the air like a boxer would do, and I never heard this song before. It's hard for me to describe but I think it's subconcious on my part. At my age 65, the question could then be asked do I consider my life a success or some parts a success and some parts failure. Some people don't even know the answer for themselves even though they were handed a career and came from a great family and were lucky enough to be born in America, all three are me. Or am I rooting Angelica on with my hand gestures. I love watching young successful people like Angelica, Emily Bear, Amira Willighagen, Joey Alexander, Aimi Koybayashi. Maybe I was disappointed that I didn't have a career in music like my rock star brothers did. The song was a pretty good choice for Angelica and I really enjoy listening to it every night. I've been listening and watching singers on TV since the late fifties and I would say that with the help of the Internet Angelica was the first person that had something besides a voice on a record. She has a personality to go with the music. She is also a genius at self promotion without being phony about it. Her ability to memorize lyrics is world class. There is a short clip of her singing "Georgia on my mind" in a Fangelica Love #5 video (cute moments) it shows what a great singer she is.

    @@georgebuck2269 Yes, George, I'm right there with you. I have become a fan of Kid's Voice videos (I'm 71) because of the inspiration I get from watching young people succeed. The aspirations of the very young just lift you. I have another reason for loving Angelica. I've been a monk and a spiritual aspirant most of my life and I know all human efforts and emotions are mixed with ego, etc. Angelica has been a real angel in the purity of her purpose and that purity come directly into your from her voice. One can only pray that this will continue through her adolescence. I don't think Angelica's is quite the best voice technically speaking, but as every accomplished artist will tell you, technique is the least of it. What you need is vision and spirit. For me, Angelica is the best singer, child or adult, because of the joyful vision and spirit her voice projects. I've noticed that of her thousands of fan comments at KZread, a high percentage are almost devotional in nature. People believe in her; they aren't just entertained or amused by her talent, they are deeply inspired. We may be seeing the beginning of a new day in human history when children show us the way forward. They have an access to the human heart that politicians and even religious leaders don't possess. Because of KZread and other media, children are no longer in the background to be seen and not heard. They are becoming more and more empowered every day and in that, there is reason to be optimistic.

    1.) I get nervous when I see child singers because I don’t want them to damage their voices 2.) I got so excited to hear that you are her vocal coach 3,) I knew she was a power house at 9 but when I heard this performance the first thing I thought was WHO is her coach!? She is amazing and gifted but she is so blessed to have such an amazing coach who understands how to help her sing without straining or damaging her voice. It’s amazing to hear how much her range has expanded and how much more control she has. I’m a choir teacher so I truly appreciate seeing a child singer getting good and appropriate training. I couldnt believe how good she sang for being 9 years old. I searched her name and watched all of her auditions and liked every song she sang. I went back and listened to all the songs she sang being sung by the people who wrote them and thought she sang them better. I am now a huge fan of this amazing kid. Her parents must be so proud, shes not only very talented but she just seems so nice and down to earth and I think she is as good as a person as she is a singer. Cant wait to hear some more from her. So great job to her parents for the person she is and great job to any and all people who helped her become the singer that she is because she is special.

    The thing that blew me away watching her in the first competition wasn't the range because that was the same show as Celine Tam. It was how good her low and low mid voice sounds. She just doesn't sound anything like a 9-year-old child. When I saw her come back for the champions round I was blown away again and how many vocal techniques she had picked up just in a couple years. I've been a guitar player for 35 years and a sound engineer for at least 20 of those and I have never worked with anyone as good as she is at 11 and she might have been better than anybody I had worked with when she was 9. Outstanding work helping her achieve greatness.

    It's so inspiring to see you analyze Angelica's performance from a coach's point of view! When we watch a "finished product" performance on AGT or Idol, it's easy to feel insecure about our own voice, forgetting that the singer we're watching wasn't born with perfect technique. They practiced...and practiced...and practiced. Of course, we all have different obstacles, but I love that you say singing is 10% talent and 90% the work you put into it. I believe the same thing!
