ABOUT…
I am Rebecca and I am one heck of a passionate vocal coach/singer/songwriter/impressionist/health/fitness/self- improvement/anything that makes me smile!! I love anything vocal/singing related and geek out on it every day. I want to motivate and inspire others to follow their dreams…corny? Well maybe but it’s true. So what’s motivating me?? I had a huge tumour removed summer 2017 and my ovaries and fallopian tubes. The tumour was the size of a 20 week baby!! However, despite not being able to walk for a couple of weeks, and feeling generally awful…. It has made me create and do what I love! It wasn’t an easy time but I won’t let fear dictate my life. I didn’t think ‘why me’, there are plenty of horrific issues people have to deal with…it’s not always smooth sailing. It’s true when you hear, ‘Life is short’, the crazy thing is, I am glad it happened…I appreciate life even more and practice gratitude everyday…It’s so easy to get caught up with the little things…and I do sometimes, but look at the bigger picture, will it matter in a year or two…?
Also thank you for all your support. It means a lot.

I Appear Missing should be next.
Fun fact the drums and cymbals were recorded separately. Dave recorded the bass drum, snare and toms. Then play just the cymbals so cymbals wouldn't bleed into the close mics. Yet you would never know by listening to the song. When I learnt of this it blew me away. It's such a good song on of my favourite QOTSA songs.

Now go and love Rick Beato's QOTSA "What Makes This Song Great" video. Perfect companion to Lady Rebecca.
This is still one of the most eclectic productions ever put to record, with an entire album exploring a wide range of styles, textures, and influences. The third time really was the charm for the Queens because everyone brought their A-game to Songs for the Deaf.

Bought this album and listened to it for years in a car with blown speakers. First time I heard it in the new car, that whisper line came on and I just about went through the roof, checked the back seat because I kneeeeew someone was in the car with me. Eventually I heard the other whispering and realized what was up, but that was an intense minute for me.

Initially, even though he wrote the lyrics for some Kyuss songs, he didn't want to sing. (Donald Fagan of Steely Dan was the same.) It was only after others telling him to sing his own work that he started, and he became an icon for it. Nobody else sings like he does. Listen more closely - You mention the whispers, but listen also for the layered growls, and screams that are down in the mix. He never overplays them - They're just subtle background details that add to the whole.
My first album from them was Lullabies to Paralyze and I kind of picked it up as a recommendation. I'd heard No One Knows on the radio for years but never understood how talented this band was - lyrically, composition wise, and vocally - until I heard that album. I still love their music. They are so underrated it is insane.
Cannot listen to this without air drumming, especially before the bass solo
At the risk of sounding like I'm sort of pervert, your top really enhances your femininity, kudos.

Indeed, sir. She is a smoking beauty.
This song is a banger, and I think what you're describing a lot in this video is the work of the mixer. He or she does a lot to make every part of the performance sound "tight", and they definitely deserve a lot more appreciation than they get. Electronic artists, for example, aren't necessarily famous for their writing ability. The world class electronic artists do very good sound design, and then they put their mixing and mastering hats on and crush that job. Shout out to all the mixers and sound engineers in the world.
Been watching u for years. Seeing u do Another great ROCK band forced my hand to finnaly subscribe! Keep the Rock rolling my darling😄

Lovely as always. Keep being you, Rebecca. No one else can, and you do it so well anyway.
I get it, the music is a landscape, you can see the grand vistas, smell the earth, feel the wind and the sun of it. You want to exist in it, move around and swim in it. Yes.
Hello Rrrrrrrrbecccccaaa! I always love your reviews, but this one in particular bought back fond memories! Ive been DJ-ing electronic music since 2000....and with a grunge rock back ground! It was about 2004 and day three of an electronic music festival that I was performing at. After three days of DOOF DOOF OONST OONST music and right At the end of my DOOF DOOF set I played this tune!! They came running from the hills and the energy was incredible! Keep up the crakin tunes aye x
That whisper and back up vocals is Dave Grohl. He also sang back up in Nirvana, just as Taylor Hawkins sings back up in Foo Fighters. Dave Grohl’s “ahhhh ahhhh ahhhh” make this song a little more haunting
One of my all time favourite songs and before even seeing him I knew that was Dave (🤤🤤) on drums! Hell of a song!
This particular QOTSA song slays because it’s basically a 1960s psychedelic tune put through a punkifier and synched up with digital quantisation. This is just about the only record I like what’s so quantised.
In my top three favorite bands of all time. So different and so rock n roll!

Josh Homme, a.k.a The Ginger Elvis. No One Knows is an anthem, and has collaboration of Mark Lanegan. Teacher, you gotta make a video on Mark. His work with Screaming Trees, his solo albums, his work with QOTSA. His voice is so beautiful and impactant, sounds like Leo Cohen and Tom Waits.
