As the first song out of the solo effort, I actually find her restraint in avoiding vocal acrobatics very reassuring.

This is Floor's first solo single. The original music video is made here in Finland with all Finnish crew. Although this live performance is excellent. But, where's your mug, my friend? Do I have to send an original "Nightwish mug" to you? Send address ASAP! ⛄👍

In Dutch we say to H "haaaa" 😄 But in HLF8 it's actually not so much an abbreviation, it's just "half" without the A, the program is on tv at half past 8, and in Dutch we say "half 8"

Actually got to see her with Nightwish in Tampere on the 22.4.( for rhe first time). Although she was having some issues with her voice due to having some kind of flu, she managed to belt out some Amazing tunes. 😀 Fun fact: some dutch radioshow made her sing the phonebook(well a bit of it anyway)😄There's a clip of it on KZread.

Great reaction and ear, hearing all the little nuances she puts in there. First discovered Floor in 2001, she already was exceptional back then and she never stopped to improving.

Floor wrote these solo songs. She also has lungs like nobody else. She is a freediver (without O2) so that explains her incredible lungs....with a total of 8 years rock, opera and classical training.

Incredible performance as usual by Floor....actually think live @paaspop festival is even better ....oh did you see her sing the phone book on NPO /RADIO 2, she also does Fire .

I actually like this version better than the official music video (which is excellent), but as she did, I think on this program, she sung the phonebook. I guess it was very good too. Like I'm surprised? haha. Hello from Florida

Great reaction Sam. About that "big mouth", what comes to my mind immediately, is the name Freddie Mercury. He had a similar thing. The story goes that both of them have extra molars in their mouths, which could be the explanation for their surpluss of the amount of produced resonance.

have you heard Floor Jansen sing literally from the telephone book? she just did it on the spot live on Dutch radio ! short video of it is also on Floor's own KZread channel but radio2's is more fun because that's the whole interview and how it was asked by the radio host

Thanks for the reaction. You might want to watch her video with this song. Her husband was involved in that, as he did a lot of work with filming her during the pandemic. I don’t know if you understood the song is about coming out of COVID, & the lockdown. Burn the walls, & chairs, & light the fire of life. She wrote this song, & is her first solo release.

I think it was NPO2 that got her to sing the phone book....A's.....it was hilariously amazing.

She had the stomach flu in Tampere a couple of days ago. Her throat was really sore but the crowd gave her energy. The song is about the last 2 years and she wrote it in 30 minutes. Joost has been helping her. She is going to make the second song video in Finland. She did an interview before singing this and it's about 18 minutes ( THE INTERVIEW)

Excellent reaction! Nice to hear from someone with experience as a vocal teacher talk about how Floor sings the way she does. I sang in a traveling chorus back in the late 1970's, and we had some very talented female vocalist... but no one approaching Floors talent! . That's why I am so amazed by her voice! Thanks again! The H is pronounced like the H in "help". The show is a kind of talk show, named HLF8, which is a (rather poor, imo) wordplay on the fact that it is aired at 7:30 PM, or, in Dutch "Half 8".

I say "H" by starting with the Number "8" and end it with a "ch" sound. We shouldn't be able to hear the "H" first when pronouncing it = "AH" ? Btw, (I am a New Zealander.)
