Dude can't win. If he relied more on the backing track.... "Wow, you mean he was lip syncing!?" If he does it himself while dancing his ass off and sweating bricks, then "The vocals were okay." I think he killed it.

@@takerkellygiveusbacktupac617 usher can barely hear the musicians due to crowd and echo. That’s why he and the musicians have foldback and backing tracks hooked in their ears through in-ear monitors. Foldback is so he can hear himself and pitch correctly and in time. For reference, when usher takes his shirt off you can see the wire going down his back.

I am shocked that he sang live while dancing THAT HARD! But he did an amazing job!!! I don’t think people realize how hard it is to move that much and sing. I LOVED IT. Swag was on 1,000!🔥 FYI, this generation is only used to hearing artists lip sync. They haven’t heard live vocals in a decade. This is is real voice without auto tune. Regarding the costumes…he is borrowing from his Las Vegas show. It’s very Vegas. And yes, they did overdub Alicia’s voice crack.

Why people are more and more "unforgiving" is because we live in a society where you can sit your ass on the fucking couch all day, going through your shitty, unimpressive in the least live, but you have the internet where you can anonymously state your biased and limited opinions and feel like "someone". If you pay attention, most, if not all of the critiques have no foundation to them, they literally are only based on opinions and not an actual observation of what is happening. Nothing of actual value is spoken in any of those critiques....or should I say judgements.

Despite her cracks at the beginning, Alicia was able to adjust herself at light speed and pulled off a spectacular show. That says how experienced, skillful and talented she is. People who made a big deal of that mishap should stop their computers and phones and get into the real world to perfom some real jobs, you will soon realize mistakes are part of our human lives, and they are not our enemies.

Your reaction was profoundly accurate and the most educate one I've seen on Usher's half-time performance. When you put performance over preference and combine the level of difficulty with quality, Usher's half-time performance surpasses his predecessors including Dr. Dre, Bruno Mars, Beyoncé, Rihanna's etc. For years, Usher has been the only mainstream singer/dancer that has TRULY committed to singing & dancing LIVE. His performance was physically the most impressive half-time performances I've ever seen. Despite how physical his performance was in nature, his breath-control & vocal stability was extraordinary. Usher is EXTREMELY underappreciated for an artist of his level. Those who dare criticize his performance typically harbor bias and are profoundly ignorant. Thank you.

Jackson State University Sonic Boom of the South marching band is playing live. The guitar solo by H.E.R. is live. She's known for her guitar shredding. She is the first and only Black woman with her name on a Fender Stratocaster model. I loved the live vocals. If I wanted to hear polished vocals, I'd buy the CD or vinyl. Usher is a true showman.

THANK YOU!!!! Your reaction was soooo accurate & refreshing. Usher is the best singer/dancer of his generation male or female. He has the unique ability to execute intricate dance sequences while simultaneously executing challenging vocal sequences LIVE (No pre-recorded tracks, auto-tunes, AI etc.) which makes his half-time performance all the more impressive & arguably one of the greatest of all time due to the degree of difficulty & quality. Anyway, there are a lot of people who harbor bias against Black male singers/dancers and that sentiment is often reflected on social media. The art form that's most accepting of Black men is rap. The very notion of the Black male singer/dancer is becoming less acceptable in America & within the Black community . Black male singers/dancers are often mocked & shamed on social media especially by Black people. I think much of it has to do with rap & how it reinforces certain racial stereotypes that people are most comfortable seeing Black men portray in music. It's easier for people to embrace Black male rappers than Black male singers/dancers and that's partially why extraordinary Black male artist like Usher gets VERY unfair criticism while Black female singers/dancers are culturally viewed more favorably. What Usher does is EXTREMELY underappreciated in today's culture, and it's sad. I'm so glad you were so objective & unapologetically touted his greatness. Thank you.

At first watch his performance probably seems "a lot" .....in the sense of having a lot of things happening and a mash of all the songs. It can be a bit overwhelming and not being able to follow all that is taking place. This is also more accurate for other cultures and ones who are not in the Las Vegas spirit, as this was a theme for the whole performance (a beautiful tying the knot for the Las Vegas residency of Usher). For Americans having this over the top show might have been normal. . However, because of all that is happening throughout the performance, it has a great rewatchability. You will notice the STORY that he is telling with lyrics from his various songs, the precise meaning they have for certain moments, and the spectacular attention to detail in the smallest of things.... and there were SO many things. Imagine the craftmanship of putting all of that together. And performing it in real time. . Not surprising, with such a HUGE audience for this kind of NFL performance, the majority of people won't even be able to scratch the surface of the Potency of this masterpiece of a performance. The more one is tuned into the depth of a certain craft (singing, dancing, performing, entertaining, etc..) they will be able to recognize the Mastery that is being showcased. So that being said, I do appreciate this video from your enthusiasm of watching it, but not from a "let's have fun and dance on it" kind of way, but the enjoyment of it in its depth and marvelous accomplishment. In the same time making some very pertinent points on it.

I pretend to be famous at home, I’ve danced and sang at the same time and it’s extremely hard. Doesn’t matter how in shape you are, it sucks a lot of energy out of you and your breathing becomes intense. Anyway, I loved the live vocals, my only complaint is I wanted to hear him more but I know the mic volume was adjusted for a reason. Beyond that, any complaints from society is just that complaints. So what if Alicia’s vocals cracked, she’s human, what if she is developing a cold or the flu and still showed up?!? What if her vocals are exhausted from practicing? As if! Anyone complaining about it can’t simply enjoy the art and beauty of this entire performance even with its small flaws. It was amazing, and best of all, it was iconic because Usher is an amazing singer and performer.

Look at the battle of the bands happen each year in New Orleans Southern university Vs… Garbling University bands…..and yes H.E.R with the electric guitar is really playing it~ and China do not have R& B but many copy the style……
