Sydnie said the BGT vocal coach taught her more in 3 weeks than she learned in musical college, her vocal coach was talking into her earpiece at the beginning and end of each song to encourage her because she was so nervous. She also decided in December 2023 that she was giving up trying to make a career out of music as she couldn't make a living out of it, but then learned she had got through to the BGT audition, so decided this was going to be her last shot. Imagine this woman and her voice being lost forever. Her Instagram is fantastic, just a warm funny human who even plays women's rugby! I love Sydnie as a singer and a great human being.

Thank you! Well.... I suppose I get Worked up because a lot of the time.I hear comments saying things like they are a natural talent and in my opinion, it just negates a lot of the hard work that singers put into their music. You are right though she got there because she is good + hard work. ;) I just get very whipped up about it. As a natural singer myself I find it hard to let it go. I just know she has worked really hard

In My Way she changed the sex and took the rejection in, spat it out and fid it her way! In Over The Rainbow she restyled ot yo let us sll know she wants that Wedt End prize over the Rainbow! All three performances so heart felt! Amazing! Now she is a Quarter of s million pounds richer, has a gig to perform before the King and Royal Family, and West End offers are pouring in! Bravo Syd! Just fascinating what Sydnie has done with this song. Your insights are so good, and you're spot on that so much training and technique is necessary: it's just equally so sad that such skills are often not given the parts in the West End due to not fitting the preferences set. At least our Sydnie is not down beat about it: with the best vocal coach & agency being arranged, now, she ought to secure her dreamed of career path, as she so much deserves. I had also heard of comparisons with the version you mentioned that she was adapting for this performance - so similar, but the Loren Allred connection is indeed the tune here, involving Loren also interacting with Sydnie through it all, and endorsing the song's BGT video on Sydnie's Facebook page, expressing excitement at watching her sing & win, and calling it "our song". They're also arranging a duet for themselves very soon, now, maybe even after Loren does an event with Andrea Bocelli in London, next month. I don't know much at all about all these skills, but I am certain that she and her coach decided to drop the "t" of "can't": perhaps to ease the sound of the vowel change at the very end by using 'only' the "-an" link?

Wow, thank you so much for your feedback.I really appreciate it and you definitely just made my day. Actually I cut out the section of the end.Where I was a bit confused about the choice of leaving out the T. I. Thought she'd gone straight to the I and left it there, but then obviously she sang it very quietly at the end. I'm not sure if that was a voice break that she just intentionally covered up or not would have to ask her. It. 's out of it was a bit odd leaving out the T

@@ZoeStibiVocalCoach Thank YOU so much: I'm truly honoured; I'm just following Sydnie's career, having heard of her now - as she had hoped. I'm back in South Africa, near Hermanus, but was in west Kent too, before, where Sydnie's from. That last word's 'spelling' we'd have to ask her about..., but just remembered it's quite common in local English accents there also to drop the T in places like that: either way, what an English artist she is! Our delight is also at her legato-vibrato notes, there, a distinction I spotted thanks to our English friend, William, the Bangkok voice coach. You two are much alike, with your easy technicalities.😳😇😊

Sydnie said on This Morning show that she covered Loren Allred’s song and Loren was very supportive. That’s why the high note was in there. It doesn’t matter. Sydnie has the power to make us all feel emotional. She has to be as emotional to convey that to the audience? She goes to places in her head when she sings to us. Dramatic ends or a gasp is her way of returning back to us …maybe?👍🌹❤️

Hi Denise! I know it always seems like that's a really short amount of time. But for a professional performer , three days is more than enough to prepare for a performance. You've to remember she would already have known the lyrics to the song before beginning it. Every singer knows this song. It is just not only iconic but also used a lot and singing lessons.Because of the technical difficulties of the opening octave. I'm not trying to detract from her performance at all.It was absolutely stunning as you saw in my video. However , often performers get asked with twenty four hours , notice to learn an entirely new song that they've never heard of before, so three days was actually quite a long time.

Seems like a super power to others but it is just part of the job. She was cover for 2 years in a show and you just have to be quick to learn. But I agree she is awesome. Ok so the high note wasn't technically difficult and it's said you aren't poo-pooing it but it's easier than it looks, seems like you are more about technicality which excites you and you being a voice teacher I can understand that. Simon said it's the audience response that is the true gauge of your performance. I must say I have heard some of the most adroit technical vocal performances that just leave me gasping at the wonder of it but have never spent a penny on them because something of humanity is lacking in the expression. It's really par for a singer like Sydnie and it better be at this point of her work honing her talent but it doesn't mean you don't use it to express a moment in music. The immediate moment is what music is about, and in that moment does the music sung transcend itself into speech by speaking into the human heart. I have dollars for that kind of singing, I have serious coin for singers like Sydnie Christmas who can use common par that transcends music into speech that talks to my heart.

I agree with you 100%. It isn't all about the technique. But to sing that takes technique, it isn't a "natural " sound we make. A lot of people see this stuff though as "too hard" so they don't try because it doesn't come naturally to them. I want to help people understand that everyone can learn to sing. (Maybe not to this level) but they can all learn to sing!!!

I think she released that song 3-5 years ago. Search YT Sydnie Christmas and then again with Stave Studio. I think you’ll find what you are looking for.👍 Here. It is phone recording. kzread.info/dash/bejne/fZl40Napp9OrhLg.htmlsi=wMyYLO3ERZxl-32u

Maybe you should do some more careful factchecking on the non vocal technique stuff you say? No, this wasn't "israel's version"nor was she "quite sick" in the 3 days between the semi and the final

Correct. Only a small part of his version near the beginning was used, and I think she was sick before My Way.

This is defo Israels version of the song. It is just that Loren made it famous again. The start is defo from Israel. And she was sick before the show, I saw on her insta before the finals. If you lose your voice as a singer the 2 - 3 weeks is still hard going. It can take a while for it all to come back again.

Hawaiian vocalist & ukulele player "Izzie's" last name is pronounced more or less as: ka-MA-ka-why-why-OH-lay. As a vocal coach, pronouncing someone's name correctly should be the law!
