I like that you Ukrainians are able to make songs to Sound almost Like prayer, a cathedral Choral. The Songs are very rich and complex and I feel there the old Byzantine touch. Ukrainians artist are very powerful with those Songs, they have also very potent voices and your composers truly know, what they are doing. The rap parte was also Excellenz, that Woman is an Energetic Machine. The performance was magistral and Jerry is like a Mohyla, like Statue of Liberty. Greetings from Czech. Now i need to find out the Lyrics.

We are a Ukrainian-American family and we also have experienced personal loss in this senseless war. We are now working toward moving the remainder of our family (a widow and her 3 children) from the east of Ukraine as they are now in harms way (again). It was not our desire nor hers, but there really isn’t any choice at this point. But watching this video is extremely difficult, as it reminds me of all the terrible things that have happened to such kind and wonderful people. It also feels like a part of my life and identity has been lost. Wishing you and all people of Ukraine to please stay safe and wishing there will be peace soon. 💙 💛 🇺🇦 🇺🇸

This song is an anthem to all the Diva's all the women that are being pillars in this war. They still care about their husbands, go to work, taking care of children, helping in need for the battlefields. The people in the cubes represent their ancestors, all together praying and crying for what is going on in Ukraine now. At the end where they show Jerry on the screen actually shows that she also joined their ancestors. Im also tearing up every time i hear this song. The story behind it is so devastating. Add on that that they had to secretly invite audience for their national song election that everyone had to sign MDA's that wont say where the contest will be happening so rockets and bombs wont start raining on them. The stage is so dark and it makes me wonder, how, how do these people find strength to sing and try to live as normally as they can. I wish peace and only love

I think, women during the war is just one level of the song. If you take away the decorations, this song is about life of women in the Ukrainian society, about the latter telling women what they should be, want and do. The truth is that we can be whatever we want to be and we should pursue whichever goal we set for ourselves, because life is too short to listen to irrelevant people/opinions.

@@user-by8zm3iq2s FYI, there is now a good article on Wikipedia about the song. Look up Teresa and Maria there. I’m hoping someone adds the lyrics to that web page soon, but I’m not sure how to do it correctly and give the right notations so that it won’t be removed. Here is one English version of the lyrics: [Intro: Jerry Heil] Ooh-ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh Ooh-ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh The well-well-wellspring breaks through on its way No matter, no matter what, the world is on her shoulders. Circum-circum-circumlocutions are serpentine and cliffy. But know this: Your own happiness is in your hand! [Bridge: Jerry Heil] Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh Come on, baby, burn Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh I'm not holy, I'm alive! [Chorus: ⁣alyona alyona & Jerry Heil] Mama Teresa and Virgin Mary are with us Barefoot, as if on a blade, they walked on the ground With us Mama Teresa, Diva Maria All the divas were born as human beings Mama Teresa and Virgin Mary are with us Barefoot, as if on a blade, they walked on the earth. With us Mama Teresa, Diva Maria All the divas were born as human beings! [Verse: ⁣alyona alyona] Even when we were small, we searched for a way But life is a loop, as if to catch those who fall On her shoulders, a small girl still Carries a vat of pain and sees it as a defect Not like that again, not being too soft Clothes on her bones, naked or under a wreath- Asked Where is your child? What is your life? But the years fly by; and then, soon it will be over And though someone wants us to break Still there is a strong charge in you, not just to the elbow, but to your fingertips And though someone hides hatred and envy behind a smile Don’t let anger into your heart, instead of kindness and love. Remember there are saints in heaven; their feet walked on this earth. Know that your thorny path is not in vain; it’s for a reason. Though it may be very scary and dark, and sometimes not easy Still the ancestors will always watch and follow you from heaven! [Chorus: ⁣alyona alyona & Jerry Heil] Mama Teresa and Virgin Mary are with us Barefoot, as if on a blade, they walked on the earth With us Mama Teresa, Diva Maria All the divas were born as human beings Mama Teresa and Virgin Mary are with us Barefoot, as if on a blade, they walked on the earth With us Mama Teresa, Diva Maria All the divas were born as human beings! [Outro: Jerry Heil] Ooh-ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh Ooh-ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh… I hope that helps you! The scene with the mountain and fire... For me, it's not asteroids or fireworks, that's how phosphorus bombs fall, which are banned all over the world, but Russia bombs Ukraine with them. Despite the lack of information in the media, the war is still going on. Civilians die every day in Ukraine. Remember all this! This makes me cry as well. It's gorgeous... the singing, the rapping, the staging, everything. The message to me is that all the "saintly women" we (Catholics anyway) are encouraged to look up to, the divas, (Mother Teresa, the Virgin Mary) were all just human beings and walked on the same ground we walk on. (And yes, that's the literal translation.) The image of walking barefoot where the saints walked is very compelling and lying down with them at the end. As a Catholic and as a Ukrainian-American, this just gutted me with its beauty. Even a little backstage bit I saw with them.... the word death came up jokingly and Jerry Heil said something akin to "No, let's not talk of death. We're from Ukraine." They lightened the mood right after, but it was very real. I am so happy they got to be there at ESC and so sad that the war continues. Thank you for sharing your honest, emotional reaction as well.

Thank you for such intimate and touching reaction and words of support! The water that you have mentioned is the water from one of the biggest dam in Ukraine that russians destroyed and killed/flooded thousands of our people, vanishing households, animals, national parks. And the “fireworks” are chemical weapons, white phosphorus, that russians are throwing at our cities… those silhouettes are shadows of ancestors and all people who were murdered. Thank you. Just thank you for remembering🙏🏻

Thank you so much for explaining the symbolism! I recognized the phosphorus raining down, as a friend of mine who is a medic shared videos with me of phosphorus falling over Bakhmut and Konstyantanivka. He also shared about picking up excruciatingly wounded folks with this phosphorus burning inside them, that he had to try to smother & cut out ASAP. 😭But I totally missed it about the Kakhovka Dam! Дуже дякую! I’m trying to learn Ukrainian language, and I am part of a Coalition of many English language pro-Ukraine KZread channels who are fundraising and delivering help directly to Ukrainians. If you’re interested to learn more about that, look up Greg Terry, Rick the Ukrainian, Jake Broe, Project Konstantin and NAFO 69th Sniffing Brigade truck fundraisers- all have KZread channels. Слава Богу! Честь Героям! Перемога Україні! Разом до Перемоги!💙🙏🏽💛🫡🇺🇦💪🏼🌸🤗🌻🌅

Thank you so much for your support! I wouldn't say you can't change anything, you're already changing something even by bringing people's awareness, and awareness precedes change. Support Ukraine, it literally saves our lives (and, potentially, your lives too). Also, it's just Ukraine, without 'the' (don't mean to scold, just a friendly reminder). Besides all that, your videos are always pretty informative, thank you for making such quality content! Much love from Ukraine

Thank you very much for this review, I was looking forward to it! 🤩 What you're saying is really helpful even for those who want to learn. I want to say that I'm Italian and I supported Ukraine and not my country, not because I didn't like Angelina Mango's song... but because Teresa and Maria moved me immensely.😭 I think Jerry Heil's voice is something wonderful and truly powerful. From the stage design to the song itself with its meaning... it's all perfect. A really powerful performance has been created. Moreover Alyona Alyona is amazing, I don't know how she manages not to take a breath for such a long time... I'm shocked really. 😱 Just because I love this song, I tried to sing it... a little piece, I think I'll publish it shortly as a cover. I'm not a singer, I just like to sing, yet I got emotional singing it.❤ I would like to thank them cause they shared this amazing song and talent with us
