VMP Gen3R : Stock Gen2 Coyote Horsepower Record!

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

The VMP Gen3R is helping us to push the 5.0 L Coyote further than ever before! In 2018 the original VMP Gen3 helped us get Track Attack, our 2017 Mustang GT SEMA car, to over 1k horsepower on the dyno. Now we are going for more HP on its stock gen2 Coyote block, pushing it to the extreme!
Watch along to see just how much HP we make!

Yea people can say they have 900wheel gen 2's holding up, but is it a daily driver and do they beat on it daily like I do, I doubt it. Hero dyno runs make money. End of story. Many will fall and grenade their motors though. Only way to hold up big power safely is badass Aluminator or fully forged built motor.

    At the very beginning of 2018 one of my best friends put one of yalls gen2 blowers and spent a ton of money on deatchwerks full system and ID injectors on his boss 302 it already had kooks long tubes and full bolt ons it was pretty quick before the blower it would run 6.90's in the 1/8 if it hooked a d didn't miss a gear it's the only coyote iv drove I was surprised and I'm a turbo guy but after the blower it was a completely different car I got a 99 z28 with a very basic forged ls1 and a single billet s480 and it makes nearly 230 more hp but his car is so violent iv never felt tourqe like that the only thing I can kind of compare it to is my paw paws old 81 semi big tire Camaro that had a 489 BBC and a single stage fogger and a plate system I think the manual trans is really what made it feel so much wilder. My wife even loved it I even ended up putting a lsa blower and BTR stage 3 PD blower cam in her 09 G8 GXP and a really nice heat exchanger and 15 gallon water/ice tank in the trunk its making 630rwhp at the moment on the sbe ls3 it's fun as hell on the street 2 years ago I was turbo or nothing now I have a completely different view I still favor turbos but love blowers almost as much now lol

    @VMP what is the primary size on the headers? If I recall Track Attack has/had side exit exhaust. It might be time for 1 7/8th or 2” inch primary’s at the horsepower level and engine speed. Maybe Cobra Jet style exhaust or at a minimum the best 3” full exhaust you can source. After that the only restriction left would be cams and head work.

    Impressive. That supercharger has to be sucking up at least 150whp at that power level. Not sure what correction factors you are using but you are probably putting about 1500 crank hp worth of cylinder pressure in there. Considering AED made 1200whp on 20psi and you guys are at 30psi it seems plausible. AED has turbos so no parasitic loss there but manual vs auto trans may put slightly more power to the wheels.

    Which coyote motor is better for boosting between gen 2 and 3, or are they equal in that aspect

  • @VMPPerformanceTV

    @VMPPerformanceTV

    2 жыл бұрын

    Hey David! It really depends on your goals and what you're doing with the car. Both have their pros and cons. The Gen 2 and Gen 3 Coyotes both respond very well to boost and make awesome street cars. The Gen 3 Coyote Mustang GT with the A10 has been doing amazing things as a street and track car with the very potent 10R80 transmission. If you're doing a swap, you'll find the Gen 2 engine a little simpler and a little more aesthetically pleasing with the coil covers and traditional port injection versus the Gen 3 with its dual injection (both port and direction injection).

  • @VMPPerformanceTV

    @VMPPerformanceTV

    2 жыл бұрын

    Both the Gen 2 and Gen 3 cars can produce 800rwhp. Both will need fuel systems and E85 alongside the supercharger kits to do so as the limit on 93 typically lands in the lower 700s due to octane limitations. The Gen 3 Coyote cars have 12:1 compression versus the 11:1 compression of the Gen 2 cars. You'll also need to be prepared to upgrade the transmission and clutch to handle that sort of power under hard driving.

    @@VMPPerformanceTV pretty much the only engine mod anyone needs to push above 800whp. Obviously driven by a VMP supercharger.

    You guys need to see what happens if you put a built coyote motor in it. I bet it will make close to 1300 rwhp. Lol it would interesting to see what happens.

    Jonathan B you don’t gain anything from upgrading the bottom end unless you up the compression. Which isn’t needed for the coyote. It needs ported heads and cams for another 50+whp.

    @@ElijahWash you need to up the compression to gain power from doing a built bottom end but you could do ported heads and cams and see how much more it will make. I bet it would make a decent difference on a max effort setup making this much power and with some really badass fuel you could even up the compression some like 12:1 like gen3 have

    Who confirmed this "record"? Its funny because MMR and TSS claim to have "THE RECORD" too. Who has the real "RECORD"? I checked Guiness and they have no listing... Who is the sanctioning body and authenticates it? There must be over 100 world record Coyotes on KZread, so WHO is the real "RECORD" holder?

    Enough of the supercharged million hp coyote. I get it bolt on. How about a N/A gen2 coyote @500+ rwhp. And make it totally street drivable and emissions friendly. Now there's a challenge.
