What would be your main use of a 360 camera?

Great video as always mate! I find it really fascinating how it makes it seem almost like an invisible self stick feel. I reckon it you strap it to the back or the car it would bring back the old GTA San Andreas days with the camera angle

Haha yep. It’s quite an incredible piece of technology when you step back and think about it.

good video, thanks. solid test and reality check with no bs. looks much different than sponsored and hyped videos where they test it with special landscape and panoramic background selecting carefully the best bits. this protective glass doesn't help :) and underwater looks a bit disappointing. In few moments I noticed picture distortion and pulsing spot :) as the other person commenting I just changed my mind :D - to be honest if you check 360 videos on YT they look a bit rubbish as 4k compression ruins the quality so the whole purpose of buying this for 360 YT is pointless. cheers again.👍

Is it film in 5.7 K ? I don't think so. Id like buy a x4 but this footage is weird 😢 .

That all depends on your needs I’m afraid.

In Australian dollars it is about $1000, the video quality is great but the audio was terrible, is the trick to just make sure you use a mic and is there any in particular that are ideal?

It’s funny. My first videos (years ago now) I used Aussie dollars and the comments section blew up with everyone really angry. Turns out they were all from America and couldn’t fathom that there would be other currencies in the world. Lol anyway yes is the answer to this. The audio is to unpredictable - hence why I used it and displayed like I did. It seems to jump from one mic to the next for no rhyme or reason. I expect it to be addressed in the first firmware update but I wouldn’t by this for audio.

@@RalphMayhewPhotography yeh i could tell you were australian as am I so thought id mention it. I wouldnt be buying it specifically for audio but just wanted to make sure that it was decent enough so it didnt sound bad. Of course when you are using a 3m stick the sound cant be expected to be good which is fine as drone shots you dont really need to speak but doing close up vlogging you need the sound to be good. Is there any mic you recommend or best to use without one? I have never used an action cam but am thinking of getting into vlogging and this camera seems to do the lot where you can use it as a normal cam, have a 3rd person kind of view and do drone shots.

I use the DJI audio mics (amzn.to/3UwyYmg) which is really good quality. Check my channel if you’re after some cheaper options that will get the job done.

@@RalphMayhewPhotography yeh you are not wrong on price, damn it cost the same as the x4, just for the sound gear, so much equipment it seems confusing, I will look at your channel and see what simple options there are

Looks like you did not check other x4 videos. Inbuilt audio is very impressive and with new mic 2 Bluetooth too it works great. All I am concerned is how is video quality? It's disappointing why insta didn't increase sensor size

I just tested for the first time my Insta360 X4 with the water Case for snorkeling compare to my Gopro 11, and let me tell you, I was so disappointed with the quality of the footage with the Insta360 X4. Am I the only one, or am I missing something here ?

@RalphMayhewPhotography yes water was very clear and the problem ,sometimes the rays of the sun came on the video ,which show reflextion from the case under water ...is there anything you can do about it ?

Why would you put it underwater with the lens covers on? You’re supposed to take them off underwater…

Why aren’t my images being saved to my iPhone album as 360 images after I chose export as 360? It’s just flat images doesn’t save with that 360 symbol and FB doesn’t support 360 images no more ?😢

I’m not sure but I don’t think exporting as 360 means they result as 360 on your phone.

Glad I didn’t buy one.
