Not sure if anyone said this but please consider renting out apartments on a property instead of Airbnb. I live in NYC and part of the reason for high rents and the housing crisis is because we have more airbnbs than standard rentals available. You’ll still get income from the rental and be helping someone have longer term housing. Love your videos!

Agreed. Certain types of rentals are what is driving the market so high that many people are homeless and can't afford anything.
The main house units would be great for long term rentals and then the studio could be a great Airbnb. That could help diversify your income and perhaps better neighbors in the main house that you’d be sharing / hearing! :)
I would strongly recommend if you buy it, to be careful of what you show online of the property and how you end up renovating and decorating it. I'm sure it's less of a problem in the community you've been built than some other youtubers, but it would be very easy to find your place on airbnb and sus out your address or get a creep renting it out. Unlikely, and sad to have to think about but safety and being cautious is important!
The “Hi friends, how are ya?” makes me so happy every time. Thankful for you!
You have a seriously amazing ability to connect with people via a camera. It's amazing. You are so sweet, calming, relatable and seem to be so genuine and overall just an amazing person who people love to watch. It's been so amazing to watch you climb your way out of such a shitty, toxic situation and into a place of independence and strength which in part, I'm sure led you to the insanely sweet relationship you now have with Jordy. So very happy for you, Michel. I love watching you live a life that you deserve now.
I feel ya on being independently stable! I bought my condo at 23 and lived in it for 4ish years. Now I’m married and a stay at home momma in a different home while renting the condo out. It’s a great way to still feel like I’m contributing financially with having a renter in my condo while staying home with my son!
Love seeing the interactions with you and your sister. Aw. You seem joyful and light... I am happy for you MJ.
Airbnb and other short term rentals are only exacerbating the housing shortage and making it so folks are priced out of their areas. There are alternative ways to rent out this property, but even then, please please weigh the question, “how is what I am doing making it more difficult for people to find an affordable place to live?”

Love love love the sister energy you guys have 💖💖
A lot of people are discussing the reasons you should not Airbnb, but they have been such a life saver for me! I am a single mom with 4 kids. When I travel, most states have a 4 person max per hotel room for “fire safety.” This means I have to get 2 rooms, except I’m only one adult. So I’m not allowed to get two rooms because my minor kids can’t be in a room alone (and wouldn’t!!!) If there is a sweet option available with two rooms, that is okay… but I’m a single mom with 4 kids!!! I don’t have that kind of money at all!!! Airbnb and vacation rentals are the only way I’m able to travel (mainly to visit family in other states) because of these building code issues! I also have a lot of food issues in my family. The kitchens allow us to eat at home rather than hotel/restaurant food, which always makes us sick. I can park next to the unit, which allows me to get my kids settled while I make trips to the car. You can’t do this in the same way at a hotel. There is a reason so many people use Vacation Rentals when they travel instead of a standard hotel!!! Oh!! They are so much cleaner!! The standard of cleanliness is way high in an Airbnb!! I think this is a great business opportunity and an amazing service for those who need it! Thank you!
i just sat down to paint and nails and was looking for an older video of yours to watch to keep me company and YAY new upload surprise!! xx
The floral skirt turned out GORGEOUS 🤩
Been out of the country for the past 2 weeks and didn’t have my phone and so I just spent the past like 2 hours binge watching all your videos and now my heart is so happy 🥰
I love sister time❤️ I’m out visiting my sister and have been here almost a month and I’m loving it! You are so blessed to have your sister so close ❤️
Love how your altered pieces came out, all of them look beautiful on you😁♥️
Thought this would be theQ&A. Can’t wait to see that. It was fun to see you having a great day with your family and friends.
Love this so much and I am so obsessed with your content! thank you for always being such an inspiration! I hope you've had a food day! Ilysm
The coffee shop reminds me of my town. My town is big on biking so there is a coffee shop across from a bike shop. So cool!
The vintage dress looks so great! Love it!
Concerns for safety on the rental ideas came to mind. As long as it's safe, go for it!
Love your videos. That dress that got the hem done is so beautiful! 😍
Doing the Airbnb situation sounds like a great idea! Good luck on your possible future ventures :) you’re awesome!
You are such an inspiration!! So proud of how independent and go getter you are! Thank you for sharing the process of house hunting with Airbnb option. I love learning new ways to think of passive income!! Thank you again for being real 🥰
This place looks like a great investment and plenty of space to rent out and your living area. Much love from Minnesota 💖💖💖
Always love Michel's vlogs!
love the little upstairs apartment! That would be such a cute little place to live.

I'm so happy to see you back home safely 😊. Love the clothes you had altered!! They fit great!! Watching you with your sister was cracking me up 😆😆😆😆!! The house you checked out was really cute. I'm with you on being hesitant seeing as how there's going to be construction work going on near. Pray pray pray about it before you make the decision 🙏. I love seeing Max & I'm so happy he got to play with your parents dog!! Nothing like dog play dates!! Give Max hugs & kisses for me! Love you Max 🐾❤️. Prayers & Wishes Lisa Hampton 😃
You Look so Happy!!!!🌺
That home is SUCH a gem!! Best of luck if it winds up in your lap 🙏🏻
You are definitely being very wise for your age for sure. Keep pushing yourself. 💪. And I would wager your memory issues are related to some of your health stuff. The house was cute for sure. Hope you are settled back in. Hawaii was gorgeous 😍. Thanks for sharing.
I love the skirt that you got altered. It's so cute!!!
So excited for you to buy your own place - my only thought with living in the apartment is that you look down onto the back patio for the house - and if they have people over until late at night, you have to listen to it all night. But its good to start looking.
Would highly recommend the book The Body Keeps the Score. Definitely talks about trauma brain and trusting your brain after profound and chronic gaslighting.
Amazing experience

Ohhhhhh Michel!!!! ❤️❤️❤️ 1. Those pants, even though they’re loose look perfect!!!! It’s nice to have some clothes that aren’t tight. ☺️ When I was a size 8 I had one pair of dress pants that were a size 12 and they were soooooooo comfortable ❤️ 2. That skirt, YASSSSSSSS!!!! Love love LOVE it!!!! It’ll now make me look past what I see even when I do love it! 3. That dress, beautiful! Not gonna lie, wasn’t a fan of it at first, but now, it’s just stunning on you!! Great video Michel! ❤️
We went to Austin last October. It’s beautiful! We were staying down town with the wedding party. Someone did mention the bats under the bridge! We wanted to go but I was pregnant and barely getting energy back 🫢🤢😅 hopefully one day we’ll go out again to visit more places. I wanted to go to the Pumkin Nights! I LOVE Halloween and fall. 😅

Absolutely loved the property.
Great video. Lovley to see Jacqueline. Too have a good week 🥰
Very inspiring! Make sure you consult with a tax attorney or CPA on the tax ramifications of having a rental property. You want to make sure the income you are generating doesn’t cause you any tax snags at income-tax time!
Just a thought, but be careful showing what your Airbnb looks like, (when you eventually do buy) especially if you’ll be living on the property. It would be easy to find your Airbnb listing and then easily know exactly where you live. Just a thought for your safety!
That grey dress looks amazing on you!!! It would also be a great fit for your Paris trip ;)
I hate the thought of you moving out of your apartment when your sister just moved in. Although, I have no idea what your life is truly like in that building. But I’m loving that you bring us along for some of the journey! Thank you.
Aww loved this! Made me miss my sister 😕 I recently moved to another state
Love the way you are so jovial, and interesting to work with
Nice!! Love the clothes!
Washingtonian here!! 👋🏼 I know you just mentioned it briefly but if you end up coming to Washington I would love to show ya around or go on a hike or something!!
Michel, I just discovered your channel. You are very friendly and sweet person.🥰🥰
Like you said you know there’s going to be lots of opinions, but you could use the office as your filming space too if you did get that place. It had lots of room and light. I would not live in one of the smaller units, especially if you were only going to rent out partially and not 100%. You’d have to take max up and down the stairs on top of it. I’m glad you got to see some old friends.
Love your vlogs! Haven’t watch Hawaii yet because it’s my home and I haven’t been there for months and am homesick. Love seeing you thrive (pun intended:))

I just realized how incredibly humble you come off yet so knowledgeable on specific topics and open minded. such amazing qualities that can be beneficial in many aspects of your life! i don’t know you in real life but you seem so strong willed yet so feminine at the same time. its the perfect balance. You truly are a gem Michel! i admire you so much. i don’t think i’ve ever written that in a comment but it’s true and i just had to tell ya! 💖
I went to Paris recently (June). I wouldn’t recommend a solo trip to Paris. Like any big city, there’s a lot of sketchy people in there. It’s also been romanticized so much. It’s beautiful don’t get me wrong but reality is different than what you see on movies etc. I think it’s better exploring the city with friends or family.

Way to get excited, Max 😂
Don’t sit on it too long if it works. It’s good practice to just put in a lowball offer if your not 100% on it because you can learn from the contract negotiations/ how two put it together and what things sellers would find appealing.
I found a Birthday cake flavored gluten-free granola at target . So good . My son smashed up my last bag 😂 But I've been adding just little bits to my gluten-free oatmeal ,dairy free ice cream as a extra treat .
Nice collection
My husband and I, started looking into houses this year. We'd love to live in Austin but unfortunately can't afford any houses there. 😢 We are looking anywhere in San Marcos, Kyle, Buda, or perhaps even Georgetown. We did find a condo in Austin that would've been an amazing choice but... 1. It was already pending contract/sale 2. We have an electric car and we need a garage to charge our car. 3. We don't want to rent (essentially throwing money away). We talked to professionals and essentially what we are going to do is wait 1 to 2 years to save up more money. My husband can finish school & workout some extra issues that have come up. We made a plan. It doesn't hurt to look at houses. It feels good to see what's available now and see what, potentially, you can afford in the future. Wishing you the most luck on your journey. I'm so glad you're looking into houses. It's the smart move! 😊
Where is your white sweater from in the beginning of this vlog? It looks so cozy!
I love that dress!!!! You need to start taking a picture of you every year in that dress for as long as you can. One day your husband will be in the pic with you. Then kids. Then grandkids. Also, your brain stuff could be lupus related. And it could also be long term Covid stuff. I’ve had the exact same memory stuff happening over the last year since Covid and diagnosis.
Hi, Michel! Taking the emotions out of househunting WOW! Major, major, epic! Personally, I was never able to do that ... so I'm going to be watching you closely (NOT in a creepy way! educationally)
Thank you for putting out a video today, I've been home so sick for the last few days and feeling lonely. I was supposed to be at a cute backyard wedding today, and then a family bbq. I told my husband and son to go without me, so its just me and this video right now ❤️

So many fun things in this vlog! I love seeing you live your best life in spite of the lupus. It can be so challenging. I feel like the forgetfulness/brain fog may be lupus related. I love this idea so much!!! I’ve had a regular rental property and an Airbnb house. I loved my experience doing Airbnb!! I met so many amazing people! They left my house in amazing condition! I rented my house full time and it was only not rented for a few days here and there. I HATED my long term rental house!!! You can’t get them to leave without evicting them if they are bad renters. They leave your house needing a lot of repairs to bring it back up to a rentable standard. One renter punched a hole in my wall! It was terrible. The landscaping went downhill. It wasn’t clean. Short term is so much nicer and you make way more money!!!
@karlameshey6042
2 жыл бұрын
Yes! You need to do what is best for you and your property. Long term rentals are money pits.
@nikkimac3570
2 жыл бұрын
The liability of having a long term renter is what increases the prices for rental units. The laws that prevent landlords from being able to evict tenants when they damage their property or don’t pay their rent make it so it is a higher risk to rent the unit long term. If you do evict a renter, they are not paying their rent the entire time, they will probably damage your property or not take care of it, and the cost to hire an attorney is expensive! There is always damage to the property and maintenance after the tenant moves out, which is very expensive. That increases the deposit amount. Taxes are also a huge burden on the home owner. I think that my net every month, after everything, was not even $100/month BUT I spent way more than that to repair the home once the renters moved out and even more taxes at the end of the year!! The only benefit of having the rental unit was building potential equity for the future. Short term rental properties are not why standard rentals are increasing in prices. It’s liability, maintenance/repairs, and taxes (mostly taxes) that increases the rental market.
Would an option be to stay in the 1 bedroom, air b&b the other apartment & rent out the main place? Then you have a steady & flexible income from them.
That would be an awesome opportunity
