Hi Liann, thanks for sharing the nice applying experience. Plan to apply UVic master of Child and Youth Care this year. May I know whether you should find a professor before apply, thought I know we are applying total different program. Thanks!

This is a very helpful and insightful video! I'm just wondering if you received any feedback from UBC for not being accepted? I'm getting a bit worried about my chances there!

Hi Liann! Its really helpful of you to share your statement of intent. Do you think you got denied at UBC because of one particular factor in your application? Was it because of your statement of intent?

I thought it was more so my grades but it could very well be my statement. Haha I get the feeling you think that's why I got denied! Please let me know your thoughts

You mentioned your GPA in the video, and in my view it appears to be strong for a competitive application. But I can't be really sure since I have no idea about Canadian marking system. I didn't really mean to imply that your statement is the cause. I reread your statement (MPH) and I think it wouldn't hurt to add a little paragraph about the faculty you would be interested in working with at UBC. Your file evaluator could well be the person you just mentioned in the statement and I think it could play well for you! I am an grad applicant for the coming fall at UBC so I definitely am not experienced haha!

congratulations for graduating :) i'm currently studying in europe but am looking into McGill as a possible exchange program location. I have a hard time choosing between UIUC, CMU and McGill. I'm in Mechanical Engineering (any one else share my pain?)

Sophie D Cool! UIUC has one of best engineering departments there is, so I would definitely look into the university! I’m barely a freshman, previously attended UW Madison but I had to take this semester off due to financial difficulties. I’m looking into getting into the engineering department at UIUC but I heard it’s super, super hard to get into the CoE. I just might have to major in biochemistry and possibly look into Pre-Med if engineering doesn’t work out... Good luck!

thank you :) But I also am taking into account workload because I don't wan to be so overworked that I can't enjoy my exchange you know? I'm sorry to hear about your financial difficulties, best of luck for your future :)

Hi Sophie!! I hope you're doing well! I would definitely consider McGill for exchange if you are doing a SUMMER or FALL semester. If you are thinking about a semester from December to April, I think your experience will be dampened due to the weather.

Don't think those areas of study fit you. You are more of a open type in need of a fun career. Like working in Fashion, Travel, enough can see you in entertainment or working for a Casino. Was I right ?
