Great video! Watching from Newfoundland. The province doesn't have a PT school, but I'd like to apply to the UBC MPT program. Difficult getting volunteer hours during a pandemic though, so my odds of getting into another school would likely be higher. But Vancouver is gorgeous, and British Columbia weather is very desirable. Best of luck in your endeavours!

Hi Liann, it is amazing to see your vlogs over the years. My son is going to uni this summer and he has offers to do engineering from UBC, UoT and McGill and we are all doing research to see which one he should go to. I have been googling and thus come across your vlog. You are a very bright and transparent lady and I wish you the best in what you do, and I am sure whatever you do, you will do well. I am in corporate responsibility and the society has evolved to a level of awareness that whatever the newer generation does, it will address important issues that the society is faced with. I am in the B Corp "movement" and I invite you to take on this "Business for Good" philosophy to be an Earth Changer!. You will achieve greatness and bring positive energy to many lives and I thank you in advance for that.

Hello!! Thank you so much for this kind comment. Congratulations to your son, let me know where he decides to go!! 👏👏 Very interesting that you work in corporate responsibility! That's fabulous. I actually co-founded a clothing company (www.rumbleapparel.com) and partial proceeds of products go to causes we believe in. As a company, we recognize our responsibility to society. Thank you for sharing the "Business for Good" philosophy with me.

Great work! Adding a social element to your business sure will "do good" and make the business grow - since you have a mission and people will be drawn to you! A case study of a second-hand book shop that might interest you is at education-for-good.com/2018/03/27/better-world-books/ (in Chinese but you can always auto-translate if needed) and this Education For Good blog has great articles. I am working with it to help startups and social entrepreneurs to use the Lean Startup model to create social impact. Also can see www.dreamimpacthk.com/. Have a great day.

I’m in love with your vlogs, seriously. You’re so chill and sincere, so different from everyone else haha. I didn’t get accepted to UBC (??yet??) but I got accepted into McGill. If you could choose again, now, which one would you choose?

Juliana!! Thank you thank you thank you. Haha sometimes I watch my videos and I'm like "wow, I talk really slowly and monotonously, how will people listen to this". MCGILL 10000%. For me, university was 1st about my experience and 2nd about my degree. I think living in Montreal and going to McGill made me grow so much as a person. The students there were really accepting and the administration is really hands off. I think that gives you a lot of room to develop yourself!

Hey so I have a question ,were you called for that MMI ( interview)?

Hi Liann, I know that it is extremely irrelevant to this video, but I have a question about applying to McGill, and since the videos about McGill applications were so long ago, I thought you might not see my comment if I commented there! You said in those videos that they take your “Top 5” marks, do you just submit five courses or all of your grade eleven and twelve courses? If I were to submit all of them and they considered my top 5 marks, would I be not considered or penalized in any way if I had a low grade in one subject that wasn’t in the top 5/prerequisites? Thank you so much in advance & love your channel!

Hi Yujin! Thanks so much for your comment :') In my year, I submitted my top 5 Grade 12 provincially exam-able courses and I also submitted ALL of my Grade 11 marks. Unfortunately, the admissions procedure does change from time to time so I am unsure how your average is taken this year! BUT if you are asked for the average of your top 5 courses, you won't be penalized for low grades in other courses. I know it feels unpleasant to be submitting those lower grades but don't worry too much, everyone has those hard classes and I think the universities understand that!

Great video as always 👍🏼 Question, if you were to be accepted into ubc, it would be free? Or a like a discounted price because of your high gpa Or you have to pay the full tuition fees just like undergrad school?

Thank you Khalid!! If I were to go to UBC, the MPT program cost would be about $15,000. This is the normal cost of the program, unfortunately no scholarship for me because even an A- GPA is on the lower end! The reason I was really gunning for UBC is because my cost of living would be much lower because I live in Vancouver! And there is in province preference.

I work at the admissions office of another department at UBC. The committee does not look at gpa, personal statement, cv, etc after phase 1. So if an applicant is invited to the phase 2 interviews, gpa will become irrelevant. the committee only look at the interview performance from phase 2 onwards. One more thing, my department is considering not to invite applicants who had already interviewed for three times or more but didn’t get in starting next year. Good luck!

I think that your Gpa, personal statement and all that are actually good enough. You may have to work harder on interview skills. There’s an applicant who interviewed three times in a roll, and finally got accepted this year.

What did you do to increase your GPA and did you have to redo certain courses ?

I made a video here talking about my study hacks: kzread.info/dash/bejne/rJmTj9iehafVhqQ.html The MPT program also requires certain pre-requisites. If I didn't do great for some of the pre-requisites, I took new courses in their place! For example, there was a PSYC requirement. I got a B in my first PSYC course so I took a different PSYC course and got an A to reapply with!

Ana Beatriz Sampaio Dal really focus on last 60 credits which means third year and forth year courses, so if you last 60 credits are higher which means you have very high chance get in, also you need to well prepare the interview

Hey there I am a physio here, also a burnaby south grad, have you considered applying outside of BC. I got rejected from UBC PT 3 years ago but most ppl I knew who didn't get into UBC went to Alberta, OIntario or UK/Australia to do PT.

Hi my fellow alum!! Thanks so much for watching this and for your advice. I have definitely thought about going to Australia to do PT which I think would be an incredible experience. I didn't end up applying however, I have a few commitments that keep me in Vancouver. Now just considering alternate career paths :)

Does UBC only have physical therapy for graduates? Or do they also have a physical therapy program for undergraduates?

  • @ec1362

    @ec1362

    4 жыл бұрын

Only graduates (In canada, all physiotherapy programs are master's programs). Usually students who aim to apply for physio later on enter the Kinesiology program for their undergrad.
