No wonder the bins are infested with them overfilled like that ... of course not the bin men's fault, I'd be freaking out with a horde of disease vectors like that around me, thank you for your work!

Could NEVER do your job .. you guys deserve EVERY PENNY in your wage packet .. in fact, you deserve a hell of a lot more.

My first job was working on a farm. I was taught the correct way to clean out a barn, was to start one side of a door, work along one wall to a corner and continue in the same manner, to I reached the other side of the door opening. in that way you don't hem the rats into a corner. Rats will try to escape and not attack, but if you stood in a doorway they will make for the most light, which is around your head. The same will go for an alleyway with no other escape, in your case they ran for the open space behind the camera. Stay safe and thanks for the memory of rats.

I am also shit scared of rats !!!!, we get a few down by the allotments, my heart misses a beat every time I see one.

Once I got off the floor and took several deep breaths I added my comment. In my area the rats are like small racoons and wee dogs. Rarely do they scurry off. Careful to you all who do such jobs. Been a garbageman in Canada for 5 months now, have had to deal with a few rats. Sometimes the only hint that one is in the can you're about to dump is the lid is off and the bags are all chewed up.

I don’t blame them. I live in the highlands and there’s a village near here that had a prawn packing factory - the rats would crawl along under the pier and up the rocks onto the road and into the bins….they were huge. They didn’t bother anyone else though and didn’t bother the cats etc. I’ll take a rat over a spider any day but yeah, I don’t blame folk for being scared of them. The rats are so clever though and I’m still in awe of their ability to climb and swim and run fast.

When I worked as a loader for Somerset waste partnership may gurney we used to do school trade waste bins and the communally bins at flats one place we used to go to the rats were bigger then the local tom cats

I spent 26 years operating sewage treatment plants and you need to be very careful with rats as you can get vials disease from them and it’s a killer ☠

No! Moved away and work from home now :).

The only time i ever seen a wild rat was when i was stoned as fuck and heard splashing in the toilet late at night, i froze for about 5 minutes wishing what i was hearing wasnt real (thinking ghosts was winding me up i dont even believe in that shit but i was scared and paranoid) it took me another 5minutes to reach the door.. i wish i took a picture because it must of broken some kind of record since the rat was litterally twice the size of the hole it got in it was a thick looking rat, i knoa theres rats out there twice the size of cats after seeing what i saw, these things are crazy in terms of evolution, these things are capable of growing to the size of sheep in the future depending on how soon the larger animals go extinct, this is just a fact for me, especially after what i seen.

Why warn them. They were going to Rat Heaven

youtube randomly deletes comments, especially about rats for some reason. i posted a comment on a pet rat video, and it got deleted. and the uploader said she doesn't delete any comments. i think they have an algorithm that doesn't quite work properly
