My wife and I, and later with our daughters, spent many vacations camping in Whiitier, NC, (a short drive from Cherokee, NC),, traveling throughout the Smoky Mountains, including driving US 441 all the way to the other end to Gatlinburg. During our second year of marriage we stayed in a campground in Gatlinburg, visiting Cades Cove, Clingmans Dome, and other places that were in the Gatlinburg area. We need to go back, it's always beautiful there. When we first started going up there and we returned home, whenever we happened to be on 441 in our area, I would always think that we're on the same road that goes through the Smoky Mountains and envision being on vacation and wish I was again. Yeah I know, kind of corny, but it's a long drive from S. Florida to the Smoky Mountains, so weekend trips are obviously out of the question.

Thats awesome, and not corny at all, appreciate you sharing, me and the wife love Cades Cove, will hike, bike and trail there often . Gatlinburg and the Smokys is like our little home away from home, I have a lot of family in the area and it makes it easy to say " goin to the smokys " lol Thanks for watching

Thanks for the tour of Gatlinburg, Sterling! Ammo trip! I've been doing that lately - I recently purchased a S&W Model 66-3 4 in barrel .357 Magnum and a S&W Model 629-1 6 in barrel .44 Magnum - so yes, I know what an Ammo trip is... lol

Was your trip after the big fire they had down there? If so have they rebuilt from that fire? Have been there several times.

The fire was Nov 2016, this was this weekend. I do have some videos from the fire, aftermath, and some turning i did from wood from the fire. Most has been rebuilt, the trees are still bare, and chareed, will take several years to get that back to growing, but for the most part, everything is up and running again
