No any requirements that you should send a message from AIS to another vessels. Only memory,internal and gps test... Also you should check distress buttons and alert units on inmc in test mode...

Please, Gmdss Radio Log is to be signed daily by Master, not only at the end of the page (see instructions reported on first page of Radio Log Book)

And also we stay in Dry dock,and anyway I make daily,weekly,monthly tests with records in gmdss logbook 🙂

What is the correct term for SART? when in school it was taught to be as Search and Rescue Radar Transponder and I was asked by my offficer once what is the meaning of SART I replied that meaning and she corrected me that its a Search and Rescue Transponder

The Sart that you find on a radar is a transponder. This because the Sart listens out in the band for radars and then reacts. The AIS Sart is a transmitter. Once you switch it on it will just keep on transmitting an AIS signal.
