Vlog
In this video, I’m explaining how I film my walking tour videos.
This is the first time I made a video in Vlog format.
I've been learning how to make a Vlog for the past month at an online school called Filmmaking & Storytelling with Casey Neistat.
In this online school, Casey Neistat himself teaches you in great detail how he shoots and edits his Vlogs.
I was amazed at the attention to detail that Casey puts into his videos.
I plan to use what I've learned to make Vlogs regularly.
Of course, I will continue to make walking tour videos.
Please look forward to it.

Very informative (and as usual very well shot)! Thank you for letting us see this, Hirata-san.
Your way of seeing the world is so awesome. I really enjoy every minute of it!
Wow I love this! Thank you for showing us behind the scenes! I hope you show us more of these! It was fun! Makes me want to do walking videos where I live! I especially love how small the camera is. It's tiny!

I just started learning about walking videos and this gave me a lot of info. Thank you.

Love this! I haven't been to Japan but certainly hope to do so soon! I also have an Osmo pocket but I recently liked using Go Pro Hero more because there's now accessories where I just clip it on my shirt and it's films stably. Thanks for the video!

Thank you for this vlog. Keep working hard!
Thank you so much for this! I think I will get this camera. My main problem is I get nervous walking around in crowds with a camera, I guess I just need to get over it.
I always liked your content..Keep up the good work 👍
Hi Hirata san :-) I do enjoy your videos from a while...! Thanks for sharing it!! Miss Japan so much!
still learning...i love walking tour videos❤

Such a beautiful intro so early in the video already!
Very good and entertaining video behind the scenes. Great that you stayed cool at the end when the bus was really close to you😎. Liked and you've got my sub!
Just found this channel. Very informative. Cheers from Tampa Florida 🇺🇸❤️🇯🇵
I wish more KZreadrs would introduce themselves like this! I watch so many "walking in Japan" channels, and I don't know what the people look like, or where they are from, etc. I hope you have started a trend!

Love this! I have a question. Have people ever reacted to you for recording? I like to record walking videos when travel. But scared people may get angry.

Probably 99% of passing people do not recognize my camera. That doesn't mean I can take whatever videos I want, but I am always careful not to make people uncomfortable. Thank you for watching my videos.

I love to watch the NYC walking videos.
Thanks this video! Helpful.
Thank you for sharing how to make your videos! How is microphone quality in dji mini? do you use additional external microphone?
Thanks for the tips!!
Thank you for sharing! How do you manage your hand to not getting shaky or tired consider you hold the position for a long time?
As a complete novice this was helpful to me. Thank you very much for sharing.
Hirata San Konnichiwa! Just came across ur channel and I am impressed with ur videography. Pls I would love to know if you have a videography tutorial class in Japan where Novice like me can participate to learn more about videography and improve my craft?🙏🏼
Thank you for showing us how you film, and what a relief that you didn't get hit by the bus at the end! I would like to do walking tour videos, but I can't decide on the best camera to get. The DJI looks good in this video, especially considering it's night time. Do you use any particular video editing programs?
I really like your technique! By that, I mean the way you hold the Pocket 2. It appears that people are not sharply aware of your camera. I likewise use a pocket 2 but everybody seems to notice it and react to it in some way. I think it's because of the way I was holding it straight up and down. I am going to adopt your way of holding the camera and see what happens. I appreciate all that you do. Thanks for the videos!

Thank you. Additional tip. I use a weight under the camera as a way to stabilize it. I recommend this because it lowers the camera's center of gravity and makes it easier to hold by hand.

Simple yet helpful! One question, How to change the ratio of the video instead of shooting twice? For example, shoot once but upload the same video both on KZread and TikTok.
I love this video! Do you use an external mic with your walking videos?
i went there last 2018 i enjoy watching from the Philippines
Thank you for this video! I am also shooting walking videos with DJI Osmo Pocket 2. Do you sometimes have issue with the image shaking/wobbling with this device? I canˋt wait to be back to Tokyo to shoot more videos like this, btw :)
I like your work .

I started a walking tour video here in youtube. I am only using an iphone 11 and a dji gimbal. Soon I will buy that camera when I have the money. Thank you for your info. Kind regards, from Philippines. ❤
Did you use a voice over during editing the video you have captured or does the mic of the camera is so loud to have captured your voice, even when you were walking with it and talking?
Great Guidelines. Can i ask which Camera nd Lense do you use?
What color profile do you use on your pocket 2?
So nice... I wish I could do as great as how you do your videos.
nice, its like a tutorial thank you.
one more point, your music choice is amazing
Thank you so much what is your setting for day walking ang night walking for DJI pocket
How do you do this without people bothering you while recording? Some people get annoyed, confused, scared, suspicious, or are just rude and interrupt you.
Thanks for this video. Arigatogozaimasu!
Nice
Do you record all walking vlogs with this camera .. because other vlogs are v high quality ??
Is there any way that you can attach that to tout bag or body so you dont have to hold it while walking
Nice video! Can you share how you edit your video.. a tutorial would be great!!

If you think well. You will notice that the footage he has shown is not from the camera he is holding in his hand. There was a different camera recording him. Which camera was he using to record himself while walking? I also wanted to see him using the footage from his dji osmo pocket
Nice shoot so you are using dj osmo only to get great view?👍
iso settings for this video? everything was very clear, hardly any visual noise , very well done

I'm glad you enjoyed the video! Like you, I often shoot with the Auto setting. Videos shot at night have a lot of noise, so I recommend applying a noise reduction effect.

perhaps you could get a pair of glasses / sunglasses with hidden record function built in. no one would know you are filming.
Amazing, we are recording in Brazil Beachs with a Gimbal and iPhone 14 pro, but is too big and sometimes people don`t like it.

what is the song in the second part of the video.. sounds like Weeknd..

merci pour la video. Aucun lien internet pour le matériel utilisé.

One factor is I'm taking Ninja steps. vent your knees and walk slowly. Try it out.
Sure, but there are tons of walking tour videos on KZread (some last more than 2 hours!) where people are not even aware that they are being filmed, how do these youtubers do that ??? Where on earth do they hide the camera (or smartphone ?) and the microphone to make those high quality videos on some of the busiest streets around the world? Thanks.
What is the camera name?
I'm in love with Japan, I've studied Japanese for a while and I had planned to come , but because of Covid i had the flight canceled. Lately I start walking around the cities filming my walking tour. HOPE I COULD DO THE SAME IN JAPAN and upload my walking tour in tokyo!!

Hello. You can buy this camera from Amazon, DJI online store or electronics retailers. The newer model DJI Osmo Pocket 3 is available now and I would recommend that one.
Camera name please ??
