If you drag and drop the pieces and your mouse fucks it up, you loose the piece on a square you dont wanted to place it. Doesent happen that often, except you own a logitechmouse. They tend to do that a 100% when they reach a point were they have been used to often :) Same happens along some other PC-Problems.

@@paulgoogol2652Re8 was a blunder since it allowed rook infiltration on c5 attacking a pawn and a blunder right after that with fxe4. Kramnik shouldn't have captured it, a former world champion should probably realize that but this move allows the rook on c5 to capture a bishop and then the h pawn with check, which makes this position completely winning for white. Any titled player should even beat Magnus here because white is up a pawn and has an outside passed pawn

This is the thing about Kramnik - he has no idea how to beat worse opponents convincingly, he's always trying to cut out attacks. He won the world championship against Kasparov by draining the life out of the game with the Berlin Wall. Players around 2400 should be absolute fish to someone around the 2900 mark yet terrify Kramnik and have often gotten results against him.

I am surprised he still wants to play online chess. I am sure there are OTB tournaments he could play. He is clearly declined a lot and it is not surprising. Looks like he is not taking chess seriously any more. In October 2023 he played Levitov chess week against very strong opponents and scored only 5.5 points out of 18 games . Even 7 years older Gelfand overperformed him there and beat him in their minimatch as well, but Gelfand is still active player playing on FIDE 2600+ level now. I doubt Kramnik is on FIDE 2600+ level right now, it takes serious work and several hours of hard training every day to stay on that level and it looks like Kramnik is not doing it any more.

Nepo crushed him in 12 moves. He is just not up to speed with theory. Doesn't mean he is a bad player, he is just in a position where an IM can clip him if he isn't careful.
