With timing, many hitters are late with getting ready to see the ball and their swings can't recover.
Most hitters would benefit from gathering earlier. Use BP to find your "early" and see how long you can stretch out control of your timing windows.

I wonder if we switch to having BP throwers use a pitching motion if a hitter's movement and timing will look more similar to their game movement and timing
The timing is a little different in bp because the there is a velocity difference and you’re more likely to get strikes in bp and not in the game
In BP, they normally pitch from a shorter distance, so he has to start earlier. You shouldn’t compare BP at bats to a game at bat. Apples and oranges.
