If the video gets views and people want it yes I’ll try more content like this. My original plan was to make phone cameras test + travel content however it’s crazy expensive and wouldn’t ever cover my costs it’s why we don’t do it.

Cool channel. I was so close to visiting Japan at one point. I had experience with modeling and in late 2015 I was in contact with Capcom about the facial likeness role of Leon for the Resident Evil 2 Remake. I failed to mention I also have a voice acting background, in the end I lost the part and I can't forgive myself for wasting such an opportunity to visit Asia.

I wish I could go to all of these restaurants and taste the goodies there :) The video itself is so enjoyable to watch, as you're giving the story and showing the country primarily - yet we can see the camera's performance! PS: I did not like front camera and the microphone in the first few seconds sounds like a toy camera lol

@4:02 that CPU beer joke 🤣 for mobile nerds only. This format of review is actually very good and I for one would recommend doing this more often. You could go to local Spanish tapas bar and review their cuisine while doing a video test.

Thanks for the time and effort you put into all your reviews. I know you test so many smartphones but if you had to pick one for everything which one would you consider? I'll let you pick the top three. Currently rocking the pixel 8 due to its size but when the 9 Pro comes out more likely I'll get it and hopefully the camera lenses are all upgraded.

Good stuff, i would have watched this for 20 minutes more for sure. 👍

Cool - you're the only KZreadr who recommended the Tokyo Metro Pass tickets which are incredibly good value (most say "just get a Suica IC card")... I'll be using them again when I'm over in July...the video quality looks fine to me, certainly better than my ZTE! There's a great craft beer bar up the escalator at Tokyo station (Hitachino)

I’ll check out that craft beer spot. Yes the 24 hour pass I think is the best option if you plan to visit a lot of spots it works out cheaper. People also say that the metro system is hard to navigate. I don’t think so but yes the map is super confusing. I prefer the London underground map style.

Love this concept of traveling to other countries and testing out gear there, especially Japan as its my fave country. It would be interesting if you visit their electronic stores and try out some stuff that's particular to Japan. I love Yodobashi Camera and Bic Camera stores when looking at electronics.

It’s been my plan for a long time about 8 years to do travel tech videos like this but unfortunately they don’t do well and it’s rather expensive buying flights on top of the tech.

Japan vlog always interesting, thanks for sharing. Excellent pictures and zoom shots, only video needs some improvement but overall very usable performance

hey Chris amazing video! This just makes me feel like these real world tests should be common now! Hope you keep doing more of this stuff, keep it up! in comparisons the phones seem a little off/not as impressive because they're in super harsh conditions but this video just made me forget that you took this on a phone (apart from the front cam footage) and one that's not an iPhone. Impressive stuff from Vivo for sure.

It’s been my plan for about 8 years to make this style of video. But sadly it doesn’t do Well and costs huge a sums of cash if I travel to different locations. Buying phones is cheap compared to travelling costs. This video will make like $29 meanwhile my costs … well rather not think of that. So this is probably it for the real world travel tests

Awesome video Chris. I think the x100 ultra is a great camera phone but I'm really happy that i went with the Oppo find x7 ultra. As good with the stills and wipes the floor with the vivo when it comes to video (seriously the video is overlooked with the oppo, imo its the best video on a phone right now even better than the iPhone!)

It's good but at time not great. Just needs some tweaks via software I think.

For some that don't know, the direction/lines on the floor in the subway station will tell you where/direction you need to go, aside the top messages flashing at the ceiling. Kirin Beer= Kirin chipset...LOL Image stabilization at 4k? ...wow, but the front camera+gimbal, night vids...hmmm.... small cute cars = Kei cars. thanks for the review Chris.

Yes also figured that out but it wasn’t always there for the NEX Narita Airport express airport train Tokyo station is so huge underground it’s connected between various buildings I kinda got lost.

I'm glad to see you got some color fringing as well with the zoom lens. I was seeing it a bit at distance with high amounts of sunlight. Is the jitter and possible frame skipping in the native video taken from this or is it YT messing things up?

That hotel room is really tiny. I would recommend sunroute near takshimaya shinjuku Tokyo and the ones in Osaka is even bigger still. Great vlog. Really enjoyed it, please be a travel vlogger. Is Taiwan the next episode?

Another minor thing. When you zoom into Tokyo station, it’s actually quite bright, no problem for most telephotos.

Hey, i loved this video! Real time testing is fantastic. However, I must say I'm puzzled: the video quality is .. questionable. From stabilisation to ultra wide.. is your phone updated? There's another youtuber, 2megapixel that does these type of real time videos in spanish and he's videos straight out the Vivo Ultra look fantastic. The stabilisation as well as clarity looks very different to yours.. which one would you recommend for video : vivo x100 pro or the Vivo Ultra??? However, I loved this video and Japan is fab. Big 👍 for this video.

Yes the mic for vlog stuff not so good but behind the camera it was fine.

No seems better after the last patch

On a teardown I saw the vivo uses 3 mics in total and 2 being studio quality microphone, I wonder why the microphone recording is still so bad, I just hope overall it improves with the updates the video and the audio. Otherwise this phone is genuinely a technological marvel.

I can't really understand why Android companies can't get rid of that jitter while recording video. I mean, all that powerful hardware and still a lot of frames are dropped. Can't be that hard to solve.

My belief is it’s the file system and the way it writes and streams the video. But Oppo seems to have almost fixed this as the Find X7 Ultra is very smooth almost zero judder.
