Jake Boly really got me into wanting Tolos but I was waiting for more reviews. Now that you’ve spoken about them, I think I’ll finally get a pair. His interview with the owner/founder was really great too. Also, how would you compare these to your Notorious deadlift slippers?
@BasementBrandon

I still like my Gen 2 (non sumo) slippers. I never really liked any of the newer ones b/c the sidewalls from the soles were built up too much for my liking and made the shoes feel narrower. Also didn't like some of the newer straps. I still wear mine but wanted something a bit more shoe like.
I was waiting for this video, eager and ready to jump on the barefoot shoe train. Sad to find that Tolos don't ship to Canada (yet). Any idea when international shipping will be an option? Love your reviews as usual, been watching your channel for years

Had my primus lite 3s for a year and a half. Can’t go back to wearing regular shoes now in my day to day. I use them in the gym and for running.

Nice!
Been training with the Vivo for about 2 years now and was having the same issue with the shoestrings. Came across something that I call a hybrid of a double knot that works like a boss (tictok soccer player video). When you build your first bunny ear and wrap the other shoestring around once and that is the normal set up, but do it twice, that is what I call the hybrid double knot.

I wear a pair of vivo as my duty boots. They're an amazing brand.
Those are not bad looking! I had a pair of Xero shoes that are not as thin as my Vibrams and you also need to size up but they’re another good budget option.

Both of my Bearoot ursus shoes were falling apart out of the box. Stiching was unfinished and heels peeling off. I was sent a replacement that was worst than the first. Both worsened significantly before even finish the first gym days in them.
Best thing I did was switching to barefoot style shoes from my Chucks which crammed my wide feet together like a ballerina Really love my VIVO’s. Good stuff my dude

I've been wearing the same shoes for years. Otomix for deadlift and Romealos 2 for everything else.

I found the Otomix ones were too narrow for my liking personally!
I'd pick up a pair of the Tolos if they eventually show up on UK retailer sites for barefoot shoes. Wear a lot of Xero shoes over that of vivo's.

Is either shoe good for doing goblet squats standing on a slant board (i.e., do they lock your feet in place well enough to avoid jamming your toes against the front of the shoe)? Thanks.

I don't pull sumo so can't really comment, but Dan Grigsby and Jamal Browner both pull sumo in the Vivos.
I tried a couple sizes of Primus Lites- the toes roll up when they’re a tad small. Do the Tolos have the same feel? Or are they flatter, further to the front?

I didn’t get that feeling from either tbh!
I remember when I used to run in Vibram 5 fingers and anytime someone asked me how I liked them I would say “they are socially awkward”. I always felt like people were staring at my feet when I wore them.

Tolos here. Looks better especially the black. Material thicker and more durable. No shoe tongue or insole inside so they fit like a glove and no distracting feelings while wearing without socks. Can also wear unlaced while still feeling secure as if tied. The material is also thick enough so that you don't feel like your thumb toe nail is going to cut a hole in the upper like some mesh style shoes eventually do. And finally they are $115 ... in stock and arrived at my door in 3 days!!! Tolos for the win.

Off topic question but what green shorts were you wearing in some of the clips?
@BasementBrandon

They're Ten Thousand Tactical Shorts, 7" w/liner. They're pricey, but they're really nice and have a lifetime warranty. I've bought lots of shorts for this company over the last year and I think the tactical ones are my favorite.

Because when we are young we are idiots and don’t wear clothes that fit properly. I think men tend to have the habit of thinking they are bigger than they are especially when we are young. Bigger clothes were also a fad too.
been using primus lite 3s for just about a year for training and walking in every day. the shoeaces SUCK, I should have replaced them sooner, basically you need a double knot or it'll be undone very quickly. Also the mesh on the top (especially at the sides) tends to deteriorate as time goes on. Wish it was a normal price, like 40$ for a pair

Just FYI to anyone thinking about making the switch to barefoot shoes -- I am due for surgery due to chronic pain after wearing barefoot shoes for 2 years. My podiatrist is saying the likely cause was the shoes themselves. Concrete is hard folks, walking on it barefoot is not a good idea.
