Vivekachudamani ~ 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐞 ~ Advaita-Vedanta

A selction of verses taken from Vivekchudamani on the Supreme Self.
The Vivekachudamani (lit. 'Crest-jewel of discernment') is a philosophical treatise within the Advaita Vedanta tradition of Hinduism, traditionally attributed to Adi Shankara of the eighth century. These verses were translated into Tamil prose by Bhagavan Sri Ramana Maharshi while he was still living in Virupaksha Cave. It is a very free translation, even the order of the paragraphs being changed to some extent.
Music - Raag Bhairavi - Arshad Khan
Nada Aradhana
Raag Madhuvanti - Pratik Shrivastava

Greetings Dear Jayasăra. 🙏 Are Brahmin and the Self of this meditation Emptiness? I sense that they are, and that this is what connects All, as All is Emptiness and Emptiness is All. Best Wishes 🙏

This is exactly what I needed to hear today and the word Vivekachudamani. What a beautiful concept of the crest jewel of discernment. There's another Sanskrit word that comes to mind, Kastubhamani, and Kastubhadhari, the bearer of the crest jewel. How can words express gratitude to you for being the Vivekachudamani of KZread! Jayasara Samaneri Vijaya Vijaya Vijaya Vijaya !

Sometimes, attention can be so fragmented that by the end of the sentence I’ve forgotten the beginning - rewinding and refocussing may or may not work. Other times it’s clear as a bell, immediately. ( perhaps this is indicative of such dense information within the teachings ) The body and mind seem to decide of their own accord. Thank you for providing these readings, your voice delivers the spirit of the message. 🙏

Thank you very much for your reply. It’s quite complicated & tricky isn’t it! So I will contemplate to digest the different interpretations mentioned, then compare them with my own experience. On my first impressions, something like a ‘Soul’ seems near to what is being suggested, although by acknowledging that, it initially feels like creating an uncomfortable separation from Oneness. Thank you.X

Gross body is the one that gets up in the morning and walks around, subtle body is dream body or astral body.
